  1. If it makes you feel better, I always say it's probably overheating instead of immediately blaming the power supply.

The major impetus behind getting a 360 for me was the controller (that and the fact my computer wouldn't run Oblivion at the time,) but these days a lot of PC games support controllers so that's nice. I wonder if they'd ever consider porting the controler stuff for the console version back to the PC.
  3. General Video Game Deals Thread

I've heard multuple people say they'd rather play it on console as the pacing is better. I haven't tried it so I can't comment myself.

Blizzard only allows a few certain symbols in their passwords, which always ticks me off because the ones I want to use are never included in their list. Additionally, the new bank I started with recently had a list of password requirements that specifically listed symbols you can't use like "[]{}, mostly stuff that makes sense given SQL queries and such, but the password prompt wouldn't take a tilde even though it wasn't on the list of characters. I bashed my head against that for 5 or 10 minutes before I finally figured out why it wouldn't take my password.

Brad Miur on one of the older Massive Chalice team streams talked about the expense of creating models for multiple classes and sexes. They are dedicated to having characters of both sexes so iirc they had to reduce the number of classes in the game to come in under the art budget. It's a tough decision and, selfishly, I'd rather have more classes even if they decided to despense with guys completely and just have a valkyrie army. With larger productions and more money moving around, you'd think that Ubi could pull resources from somewhere else to get it done though.

It only stood out to me because I have a couple of friends playing Euro Truck Simulator and the Multiplayer mod went into public alpha last month. I'm not paying $25 for it though.

I waited 24 hours and the reset email never came. After the 45 minute wait for the tech support guy, things went fairly well. He just asked me my security questions, then sent a password reset link from a slightly different EA customer support address, it came through, I reset the password, done! 45 minute wait though. Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled Deals thread.
  8. General Video Game Deals Thread

Reading around I see lots of forum complaints about password reset emails not coming through, so I think it's just broken. Waiting on the EA chat line now to see how many pounds of flesh I need to give up to get into my account. I've read some horror stories.
  9. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Hmm, I was a few seconds away from clicking buy on that. I'm glad I didn't.

Man, I'm trying to log into my Origin account to take advantage of the sale, but the password I have written down doesn't seem to work and the password reset emails aren't coming through. I'm wondering at this point if I've been hacked, or if the Origin system is just broken because I swear I've had this problem before.

I'm thinking it might be time to pick up State of Decay, which I'm sure will end up on sale at some point. Other than that, I have plenty to play already. I bought a PS3 with 6 games (and 2 more I plan to get later) back in November and I've only beaten 1.
  12. Nintendo 3DS

Watched some of the Tomodachi footage on Giant Bomb and I am intrigued, but not $35 worth of intrigued. It looks like such a non-game, I figured it would be like a $20 digital release.
  13. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

It's a silly comparison in the literal sense, but it does make a neat headline that highlight both how violent E3 was this year, as well as how sexist we all know the video game industry is. Personally, what I'd find more useful is an over time graph of "women in E3 pressers," and maybe a comparison of how many women were on stage versus how many women are actually in the industry.
  14. Life

A lack of other interesting news to report?
  15. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

I noticed that, it was so wierd and uncomfortable.
  16. Far Cry 4: A grenade rolls down everest

I think we're missing the most imporartant point here. Where can i get a repeatedly exploding elephant that's still standing when the smoke clears?
  17. iOS Gaming

I've barely managed to get over 9000
  18. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Sounds like someone's finally using the WiiU tablet for something unique, I'm all for that. Now the only question is if I'll be able to use my GC controllers for anything besides SSB. Nintendo definitly has me interested.

Apparently there's a 70% off player appreciation sale going on through Origin https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/deals/pages/seventyoff-playerappreciation There's some decent stuff on there, mostly old but with some things as recent as a year ago (The Walking Dead: Season 1 for instance)
  20. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

If they can deliver on the concepts contained in the Spore space mode, but do it well, that's all I need. I was really super into that for about 4 hours before I realized all the shortcomings. Edit: I kinda want to play Spore again. Too bad that I'll never be able to activate it. Edit2: Hmm, only six bucks https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/buy/spore/mac-pc-download/base-game/standard-edition?utm_campaign=origin-search-us-pbm-g-spore&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_term=spore&sourceid=origin-search-us-pbm-g-spore
  21. I Had A Random Thought...

The shoes in the house question has always hinged on the carpets in the home in question. Our last couple of places were hard floor on the main floor, carpet in the bedrooms, so I'm not near as concerned about people removing shoes as I was back in my carpeted appartment. It's also muddy as heck around here during winter, so those rules change with the seasons.
  22. DOTA 2

I started seeing the mass courier spam lately, it's really wierd to run into someone's base and kill 20 donkeys. On another note, this compendium thing finally grabbed onto that nerve in my brain that CoD:MW pulled on so long ago. The daily quests, the easy and often progression, and longer term goals have kept me coming back pretty much every day in the last week. I'm not sure if I want to lose my life to DOTA, but I can feel myself sliding toward the black hole.
  23. Crusader K+ngs II

If that doesn't work, maybe you could release the Duke of Prussia and then defeat him? As silly as it sounds, my earlier problems with everyone being hostile were solved by reloading the game a few times *shrug* Edit: This thread discusses it and can be viewed without a forum login. Unfortunately the referenced bug reports are in a private forum. http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?765322-Temporary-Title-Issue/page2&s=501ba170af1c3256966a4ac3ef8a8338
  24. Anyone Remember?

Silly question regarding this. I enjoy watching the Spelunky streams when there are multiple people playing. I'm more into internet conversations rather than internet monologs. Does there happen to be a list somewhere of which of Chris's streams have company?
  25. It sounds to me like those complaints are applicable to most fiction in general, not just YA. I know the Dresden files books (of which I'm a huge fan" tend to end up wrapping up without a whole lot of emotional concequence despite the emotional (and physical) wrestling that the characters go through in each book. There's also some history for that in TV, though the popular cable shows coming out recently (Game of Thrones, Sopranos, etc.) have been a little more brave with interesting endings.
