Sounds like the big PC patch comes out tomorrow. I'll be interested to see how much better/worse it is than the iOS version. Edit: Actually, the big patch came out last week, this is just a hot fix. Anyone on PC playing it?

It seems to me that slapping hysterical women was used alot in popular media during the 70s and 80s, so much so that that modern jokes are based around the implication that slapping a man is likening them to a hysterical woman. Edit: And I was beat while typing this. At least I'm not completely off base

Let me start by saying that I have not played any of the Walking Dead games, season 1 or season 2. It seemed to me that the interview was mostly Greg Miller talking crap (which is fairly typical) and the developers staying fairly silent and trying their best to stay out of it. The comment that some people in the office wanted to get rid of her seems to me to be the same thing that could be said of any number of characters for tons of different reasons. There's a lot additional editorial added on that tumblr site which may or may not be implied by the actual conversation, which is strange for a site that has "No Opinion Zone" emblazoned on the header (which I confess made me predisposed to dislike the content before I even started.) The slap part was wierd in that the concept of slapping some sense into somone is such a dumb movie thing that should have gone away a long time ago.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
Dewar replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
I'm considering an Xbox one for the Halo set they're putting out this year, also for Dead Rising 3 but that's on PC now. Earlier this year I finally bought a PS3 specifically for the exclusives, so if you count that I guess. -
Flight Simulators or: I bought this flight stick, and darn it, I'm going to use it!

Hmm, if you're in to really deep and somewhat confusing space sims like Elite, you might look into X3:Albion Prelude (not X:Rebirth.) I had a lot of fun with that game, but man it can be impenetrable. Edit: I guess that X3:Albion Prelude requires X3:Terran Conflict to play. That's what I started on and it's definitely good enough, but if you find yourself enjoying it there's a lot of QoL improvements in X3:AP. Edit2: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/12588/ $20 for both- 20 replies

Ug, Elite is going to have walking around inside stations? I guess it must be popular because everyone (EVE, X Rebirth, Star Citizen, etc.) has it, but I'd rather just be in my ship and take care of all that with menus.

Usually a chunk of development cash as well as getting co-marketing support (being featured in Microsoft funded Xbox commercials, billboards, etc.) Considering that Square-Enix said that Tomb Raider failed expectations (wtf,) I guess they're trying to get greater exposure? -

Warthunder is the big one that I play. It was tough at first to keep up with the mouse-look people, but now I can at least hold my own.- 20 replies

It seemed like such a cool game, but I don't think I can do that torture scene, sorry.

It would be interesting to corolate that with wage increases (or lack there of.) Still, it's supply versus demand. Recent housing crisises make people less likely to buy and more likely to rent. Thus demand for rentals goes up.Thus prices go up.

You probably did what was smart and somewhat less satisfying than my instinct, which would have been to try and kick a fieldgoal with the dog's head. Edit: I have a history of dogs not really liking me, this is probably why.

Hmm, interesting. I wonder how far along it is. Last time I saw a video it didn't look anywhere near ready.

Idle Thumbs 170: Esophagus Sarcophagus

Whether it was because I was expecting it, I just happened to pay attention during the transition, or you actually changed how you read it, I found the WoT commercial this week to be a lot less uncomfortable. Also, i really liked Aliens 3. -
Should I look up this Shrek is Love thing at work, or would that be a bad idea. These kids and their memes these days, I lose track.

5-10% raise every year seems to be fairly typical around here as well. I'm not looking forward to that prospective rent raise this coming year. I hope that our new place isn't going to try and screw with us, I don't know if we can afford a hike.

I'm not very good at it and I don't think I really have the patience to learn. I only have so much room for "easy to learn, hard to master" type games in my life, and I've been playing a lot of FIFA world and Dota 2 recently.

Hmm, I guess it's just a thing around here then. It seems like everyone (Firefighters, Police, School Superintendents, even the Elks Lodge) endorses someone around here. It's mostly noise to me at this point.
-
So your police aren't funded by the government? Do they make their money on parking tickets then? All I'm saying is that once you are funded by the government, you have a right to endorse someone that is going to most likely improve your funding, and there are going to be a section of people that find that valuable. It's exactly the same as a head of a teachers' organization endorsing the government official who's campaigning for more school funding. I find the concept of actually electing the sherrif kinda strange, but it's pretty much a desk job, so I guess?

I believe that the individual publishers decide their prices, thus the widely varying numbers you can see if you shop around the market. Many of the games that they showed on the GB stream had 7 day rentals at around 10 bucks, which is roughly the same value as a physical video game rental (yes they still exist.) For many games out there, 7 days is plent to beat them, so I'm OK with that. There's never really going to be a way to sustain the service without either rentals and no purchases, or purchases with some type of monthly fee (on-live style.) -
As soon as police became funded by the government, they became political. I don't blame them for wanting the candidate that's most likely going to help their budget. The endorsement might not have much relevance to me, but to others it might mean a lot.

As an Azumanga Daioh fan, I had absolutely no idea that's where it started. I figured it was a reference from the 80s or something that they just re-used. I'm meh on the whole thing, but I just wanted to point out that if no one had mentioned that it was a Game of Thrones spoiler, I probably wouldn't have even noticed

I guess this conversation is sticking around a while, so I'll just say that the surrender option in LoL made me feel terrible because I thought we still had a chance and I was bullied into conceding a bunch of times. A higher percentage of LoL games ended with people yelling at me for not conceding or me just conceding because everyone else seemed inclined to than I've personally had Dota games end with fountain camping. I wonder if it might have something to do with the MMR that people are hovering at. I played pretty lousy in LoL, so I might have been down at the bottom of the matchmaking pool, while in Dota I've actually had a pretty good win rate.
