Hmm, glad they made their goal. I'm interested to play, but I'm a bit gunshy right now.

Do you still not get exploration XP if you keep the same map? That absolutely destroyed my second play-through.

The majority of the series is pretty serious from that point, but there are occasional flights of whimsy.

You should try and get one of those butane burners they sell at asian food and restaurant supply stores. Cooking with a wok on gas is a whole new experience.

One of the podcasts I listen too has been advertsing this: http://www.blueapron.com/ I've heard good things, though no personal experience. I'm also not sure about the cost.

But those white fists don't appear at all until you've rescued a certain number of basic slaves, right?

The X360 version has the rivers expansion and that made it a ton more interesting for me. I can't really say for sure about the physical version though.

I just don't fly. It seems like such a hassle.

Yeah, getting Outcast missions to unlock is based on the number of slaves rescued. They don't have icons on them or anything, just any old slave will do.

I'll pull in my post from the relevant episode thread. That was written before the STEEL update, which I understand at least filled islands in to a lot of the blank tiles, even if there's nothing to do on those islands at the moment. I'm curious to try the combat revamp, but there's been so much complaining about it I think I'm just going to wait until release at this point.

Do you have a gas stove? I miss my last rental because we actually had gas and it made wok cooking so nice.

Well, they've been showing tons of it on their team streams and the officially gave license to stream it yourself, so I'd say it's pretty much all open to be discussed. I think the only thing they've been hiding are the various events. Edit: Here's a quote from the Kickstarter update.

Hmm, I want to play this game for the ambiance but the idea of repeating portions of an already long game didn't appeal. I'll maybe think about picking it up and playing on easy.

I don't even remember seeing "Jeremiah Crichton."

What does easy change? Just the amount of kicks an android can give you before you die?

This weekend we watched Frankenstein, then Young Frankenstein and I didn't see near as many similarities. I think it's because Young Frankenstein is parodying an entire series of movies, while Dead and Loving it was aiming at just one. Plus, a couple decades of directorial experience I guess.

Proof that he is a gamer. He knows which Halo is the best.

Hmm, I have it on GFWL through Steam. I wonder if it will just magically switch over or if I'm going to have to dick around with save files.

Mash pass time on the tower a bunch and send a lot of death threats to make it harder. I've been having a ball since I did this.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS

Well, they obviously have his contact info so he's lucky that they didn't hand it over to the police. -
I played the new CK2 expansion over the weekend. It struck me that event troops are the one thing that never reall made sense in CK2, and then they put in a government form that relies on event troops. The whole thing went horribly, and I'm glad I didn't pay for it.

Dark Souls 2 (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor))
Dewar replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
I was having pretty significant durability problems for the first quarter of the game or so. I forget what weapons I was using at the time. I definitely noticed that Rapiers break way too quickly to be of use.- 1284 replies

That GB thread is still going like wildfire. There have been quite a few resoned responses (due to a decent amount of moderation I'm sure.) For those sane people that don't have time to wade through it all, you can see some good stuff by checking out Vinny and Patrick's forum post history: http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/vinny/forums/ http://www.giantbomb.com/profile/patrickklepek/forums/ Edit: It's nice that my favorite corner of the internet (video content wise) is also having a fairly sane discussion on this subject. I was getting antsy that no one had said anything.

The message board thread on that is literaly growing faster than I can read it. 419 post as of 10 minutes ago. Jeff said about what I've been thinking, which isn't surprising because I follow GB mainly because he and Brad have many of the same opinions (both in games and out of games) as me. I think there's evidence to support the "two extreme sides" thoughts, especially at this point when a lot of the moderates have dropped out of the discussion. As has been mentioned by a few less-volatile GGers recently, death threats have been flying both directions recently. I certainly believe that most of the problem lies with the toxic core of the GGers, but I don't think anyone is innocent. I think the best part of the message is the idea that if you really are one of those #notallgamergaters, you might have a good point, but it's mired in all this muck and you really should take a step back, drop the GG tag, and start over with a more civil base. There are interesting ethics discussions to be had, but you can't build on a foundation of manure.
