  1. Euro Truck Simulator 2

Fines can add up pretty quickly. Remember that they deduct from your purse immediately, so even if a job says that you made a $40k profit, that's not counting fines. Also, it's not too hard to get stuck.
  2. Shadowrun Kickstarter

I'm in for pretty much anything at this point. I still wish I'd picked up some of the original art work at their exhibition here in Seattle.
  3. General Video Game Deals Thread

Might want to hold out for the DS2 ultimate version that comes with the DLC and other unknown content. Edit: Oh, I spent most of my gems crafting a Shadowrun: Dragonfall booster, and I got all those gems by recycling my emoticons, since who ever uses steam chat?
  4. Idle Santa 2014

I don't see any reason to wait to open, personally, but that's up to you I guess. UPS wants an arm and a leg to get a package there by Christmas at this point, so I sent it off today but it won't arrive until a week from Monday. I'm glad I'm on the only one running late. I've also been having arguments with Fed Ex trying to deliver a package for me, which I assume is my incoming gift. If they can't figure out where the apartment office is, I'll probably have to drive to the distribution center to pick it up on Saturday.
  5. I'm glad someone else came to the heartbeat conclusion after Jacoby was attacked.
  6. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

I didn't even know you could change the HUD color, that's nice. I also didn't even think about M+KB controls, I have a $40 joystick that I had laying around from playing X3, so I've been using that. I can definitely understand how combat would be difficult with a mouse. I've been reading through the Gamma player's guide and there's some good stuff in there. I hope I'll be able to find a system worth exploring in my Adder this weekend since that will be the next time I'll be able to sit down and put a lot of time in.
  7. Speedrunner and Yawgh come to mind. I'll take a look and see if I've bought anything else recently. Oh, and Jackbox just came out on Steam too.
  8. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

    Less people need voices.
  9. General Video Game Deals Thread

I don't care enough to buy a bunch of gems, so it looks like I'll probably just be buying a booster pack with mine. Maybe Massive Chalice since I don't think those cards are actually available yet, but they were listed as a craftable item.
  10. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

Hmm, I haven't found combat that difficult so far, though I do have some experience with Elite 3, so that might be why. What problem are you running into exactly?
  11. Considering that Chris wasn't able to make the main podcast either, I'd say something is afoot. Hopefully, it's either holiday parties or hard work on Fire Watch, rather that anything sinister.
  12. General Video Game Deals Thread

Prices of my 100 gem items are up to 14 cents now. I'll be able to make some change to actually buy something during the sale.
  13. What are the must-see TV series?

    Quantum Leap
  14. Idle Santa 2014

Due to a long period of sickness, I just now finished shopping and the last item won't arrive until Wednesday, which means shipping on Thursday, which might just miss Christmas. I'm sorry in advance.
  15. General Video Game Deals Thread

Prices of some cards seem to be going up a bit, but it's mainly the value of the emoticons and backgrounds that is spiking.
  16. Star Wars VII - Open spoilers

Can we get a Star Wars movie without Jedi? They're like the least interesting part of the series.
  17. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

You can play in Solo mode (which I have been after narrowly missing slamming into a fellow player at 250 kph - my fault) so you won't ever have to worry about getting wrecked by other players. That said, it has taken some time for me to make money in the game so it might be difficult to get to the meat of the game on a limited schedule.
  18. General Video Game Deals Thread

Checking that out eventually led me to the Humble Store, who are running a holiday sale right now. No quite as blow-out as Steam sales are, but still some good prices on fairly new games.
  19. Don't Starve

    I'm probably in for that.
  20. Elite: Dangerous (Kickstarter)

I played for about 3 hours last night and saved up enough money to get an Adder. Unfortunately, it was already past my bedtime so I didn't get to fly it yet. I plan on hooking a mining laser and heading to the great yonder.
  21. After getting all the collected editions through scholastic for good behavior in class and reading them many many times on our road trip out to Nebraska, I finally got the $100 complete edition last year for Christmas. I have opened it precisely once : (
  22. Tacoma from Fullbright

Meh, it could have been worse, I wouldn't call it a disaster, more of a kerfuffle.
  23. Star Wars VII - Open spoilers

Isn't that the point? They all had emotion so they all failed pretty much.
  24. My general impression is that a lot of the AAA and AA releases have been somewhat lack luster, also a lot of the most anticipated titles were pushed until the start of next year. Smaller games, on the other hand, have risen to fill the gap quite well. Even then, I ended up buying and/or finishing games from last year far more than playing new games from 2014. Next year looks like a real banger though.
