  1. [RELEASE] Another Chill Hell

It's like someone threw me inside the Mean Bean Machine.
  2. This was pretty but I had no idea what I was doing or if I was having an effect. I wish when you pressed space It locked the camera. I would frame up the artwork in my sights and want to mess around with the sliders, but as soon as I moved my mouse to them my view would turn away, so I didn't ever get good feedback as to what changes I made were doing.
  3. [v2 - The Dab Update] The Eyes of Cheatin Hitman

I got to the room with the Comedy/Tragedy masks. Is that the end? I couldn't figure out anyway to proceed from there.
  4. Wizard Jam 4 Feedback

I think bringing in outsiders would be a wrong step because once you get removed from the Meme Streamâ„¢ of the podcast a lot of this stuff is just nonsensical.
  5. Wizard Jam 4 Feedback

As someone who was following the jam but not participating, it would have been helpful if, when you listed the diversifiers you used, you also included descriptions. Every time I saw the list of diversifiers on someone's page it was totally meaningless because I couldn't keep track of what all 20+ meant in my head.
  6. [Release] The House on Holland Hill

My computer has trouble handling your sick grafix here, even on a lower resolution (also, on a lower resolution the hands are cut off and float in the center of the screen), so I think I'll have to call it quits, as it was really hard to play at such a low frame rate and I got stuck inside the house at the first appearance of the "maid"(?). But this game is really awesome and I'd love to see this structure expanded out into a fuller, richer story, assuming this isn't a fuller story (I don't know how it ends!)
  7. Wizard Jam 4 Feedback

I think there was too much Dot Gobbler, but I imagine people will pull back a bit next time out. A fully 3D animated Dot Gobbler last time around was an amazing moment, but by the 8th Dot Gobbler I saw this time out I had forgotten what made him special.
  8. As advertised! Very pretty! This was a very pleasant experience, and all the transitions between moments were perfect! I would love to see this gameplay premise further explored in many directions!
  9. [Released] A Good One

The skiing feels really good. I like that the camera trails behind, though I wish it didn't trail behind quite so far, as it diminishes my sense of speed. Very cool intro too.
  10. [Released] Breckon's Similar Sausage Face

Of all the games I've played from the jam so far, this is the most complete package. Of sausages. Really terrific stuff!
  11. [RELEASED] Cheatin' Hitman

There are multiple "stage galleries/photos and get rated on them" games this jam and it is awesome. I am really impressed with how robust all your systems are! UI is a little fiddly but I'm mostly amazed it all works as well as it does!
  12. [Released] Beware of Falling Samurai

Checkpoints are such a good quality of life addition here. The first time I got hit with a falling samurai I thought "Oh geez, am I gonna have to restart at the beginning every time, this is gonna suck" but it turned out real good. Feels like a very good test for an actual game.
  13. Creepers, it's Christmas! (2016)

A sincere thanks to everyone for not making this thread in October. Christmas is a lot of people's favorite time of year but it's a really depressing one for me and seeing these Christmas threads months in advance always bummed me out.
  14. [Dev Log] Historical Beef

    Meat Cute.
  15. [Release] Bogost in the Shell

I found the third screen (arcade) a little impossible. I could no longer see a robot, it was in a language I couldn't read, and nothing I did seemed to change the room at all. And then I figured that I would exit out and see if the solution was in this thread but I couldn't even exit out of the game. Even Alt-F4 did nothing. And then when I tried to CTRL + ALT + DEL out, it crashed my computer. Which is maybe a meta-game, given the subject matter. Regardless, given the bug I am wondering 1) how many of my difficulties on the arcade stage were by design and how much were bugs and 2) if I should try to play the game again, or if it will just crash again. Did this happen to anyone else? EDIT: Took a chance, played it again, I see what happened. (there's a jump button!) Also maybe the crash came from being in fullscreen, as I was able to easily exit out this time while windowed. THIS GAME IS DOPE.
  16. Creepers, it's Christmas! (2016)

At least you guys waited for a sane amount of time this year.
  17. [RELEASE] Baboo!

Having never seen anything on this engine, I really enjoyed this original take on text adventures. Also, "Horse Bag" is one of those Idle Thumbs things I've always adored but has seemed to fall out of meme favor in these game jams, so that was nice.
  18. [RELEASE] The Bear's Black Heart

Oh, it's possible to backtrack? I had a completely different idea about the structure of this game.
  19. [RELEASE] MID JAM POWER MOVE

This was a fun little game! Funny that you gave it the exact same title/music treatment as Sad Story of a Modern Idiot.
  20. [RELEASE] The Bear's Black Heart

At a certain point I wasn't sure if I had reached the "end" or not, it felt like I was on week 9 forever and no NPCs were showing up. The presentation of this is really great.
  21. [RELEASE] Mr. Puffin in The Dark Castle

The graphics in this are totally insane and great. When you lose, is there something else you're supposed to do to restart? I had to ctrl alt del to get out of the application.
  22. Ah! I was trying to control it like traditional mouse + WASD movement like a real Hoverboard casual.
  23. Has anyone been able to actually turn in this game or is it just me? Maybe you need to be using a controller and not a mouse and keybooard?
  24. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I think probably they were freed up to create more stunning and natural looking environments because they didn't have to worry about people Skyrim diagonal crouch-jumping and getting places they shouldn't. But also, they are making a craggy mountain environment and maybe an emergency "enable jumping/climbing if player character is stuck in place" function would have been an smarter idea than just assuming someone won't get stuck. OR figure out a save function that works after every narration bit, so that it doesn't matter. As for narrative satisfaction, I felt the narrative was not just unstructured but completely untethered from anything, and the only thing that was keeping me playing was knowing that the ending wasn't far off and maybe it would wrap it together into something less nonsensical. While a little mystery is a good thing, I couldn't even figure out if the narrator was the same as the player character, if you were hearing things from the past or present, what were letters and what were thoughts and what were memories, what was supposed to be metaphorical flowery language and what was supposed to be interpreted as reality, where I was, why chemical structures were drawn everywhere, etc. etc. etc.
  25. Recently completed video games

Finished Ben There, Dan That! First time I tried to play this I got stuck at the very beginning because I didn't understand the wire of the light switch was it's own thing, but this time I was able to get through most of it with little trouble. Wasn't until the very end that I got stuck again and, surprise, it was because I didn't see a long vertical wire-type thing that was a collectible object. Very fun and well-structured. I really appreciate always knowing what my goal is and how far into the game I was via the door system.
