  1. [RELEASE] Shoot that Pizza / I Like the Hair

I managed to get a few free hours to work on this today. I started work on some of the basic systems such as firing, damage and spawning pizzas. I think I'll talk more about what I plan to do next once I've had some sleep, but for now here's a gif:
  2. [Release] Shoot That Pizza

    Haha! That's incredible.
  3. [RELEASE] Shoot that Pizza / I Like the Hair

I had a bit of time this afternoon to start on this properly. I wanted to spend some more time planning out how I'm going to build the game's various bits and pieces in a semi-efficient manner, but at the same time I didn't want to spend the day doing "nothing", so I built a quick menu system today. It was pretty good in that I was able to spend time building something that I wouldn't need to immediately change as soon as I got a new idea. I basically remade the quick Cinema 4d scene I made last night using the same assets After lots of fiddling around with lighting and post effects I think it looks similar enough to be going on with. Here's a gif: https://gfycat.com/SnivelingPitifulIbisbill With that out of the way, now I just need to make the game.
  4. [Release] Beppo's Hole

So glad that someone is doing Beppo's Hole.
  5. [Release] Nineties Cockpit Freakout

Nice ship! If you want a starting point for making interactable buttons and levers etc, take a look at the UE4 Content Examples project. It's a large download, but there's tons of stuff to learn from in there so it's worth having. Cockpit buttons will be relatively simple to make, but if you're looking into more complicated stuff there's a working slider, lever switch, crank and chain switch which you can play around with and adapt to your own needs.
  6. Team Building Thread

I'll be pretty busy with my own game, but when you said roguelike I immediately thought "An Ancient Evil Awakens" and "Esophagus Sarcophagus" would be pretty fitting.
  7. [Release] Nineties Cockpit Freakout

Sounds great! Lots of possibilities with this title. I don't know if you're new to UE4 or already experienced, but if you need any help with Unreal related stuff, let me know and I'll try and help out.
  8. Wizard Jam - Idle Thumbs Game Jam Interest Gauge / Chit Chat corner

    voxn that is PERFECTION
  9. Super Mario Galaxy: 600%

Why would you ever want to?
  10. Wizard Jam - Idle Thumbs Game Jam Interest Gauge / Chit Chat corner

Awesome, great work Dinosaurss! It's going to be a busy few weeks for me so I'll likely not be able to enter a submission, but I'll still be around for help. If any Unreal Engine beginners get stuck with anything, give me a buzz.
  11. Maximum Axiom Verge Urge

I know nothing about this game, but just wanted to step in and say that that's a mighty fine thread title.
  12. Hotline Miami

Yeah, I can understand that viewpoint. And yeah, the mask restrictions + the more complex levels do make it feel more like you're playing a set of puzzle boxes than in the first game.
  13. Hotline Miami

I think the wildly varying press reaction to this game is a really good example of why I'm not a fan of the concept of review scores.
  14. Hotline Miami

In a weird way, I'm actually pretty glad they changed up the way mask selection works. In HM1, I found myself initially trying out all of the new masks as I got them, and then at some point I just settled into using the same one over and over for the rest of the game. I was given a lot of choice, but in the end I found myself just going for what I knew worked best rather than what would be most interesting. I like how in HM2, you're challenged to change your playstyle from level to level. I was also bummed about the lack of playable females.
  15. Wizard Jam - Idle Thumbs Game Jam Interest Gauge / Chit Chat corner

Awesome! This is great! So many good titles to work with that I hadn't considered. Thanks Panzorfork!

Episode titles as prompts is a nice idea. Many of them are non-specific enough to be interpreted in several different ways.
  17. Amateur Game Making Night

GraphicsGale is another option. The free version has all of the main features. Haven't used aseprite so I couldn't tell you which one would be the better choice.
  18. Wizard Jam - Idle Thumbs Game Jam Interest Gauge / Chit Chat corner

Consider me also interested. I have enough experience in Unreal Engine 4 to teach someone the basics, so I'd be happy to give guidance.
  19. Amateur Game Making Night

This is looking really exciting! How did you approach making the light-based stealth system? Also, some of those debug messages were amusing
  20. Unreal Engine 4 Thread

My friends and I like to get together and make 48 hour jam games using Unreal on a semi regular basis, so I'd say its totally possible to make smaller scoped stuff in a short amount of time without getting bogged down by the toolset.

  22. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

Ugh.. there are some gross, shallow minded people out there on the internet. Self reminder to not repeat the mistake of working myself up into a state by reading vitriolic reddit threads at 3am. Makes me really appreciate this place. Thanks everyone for being so cool and making these forums so welcoming.
  23. Unreal Engine 4 Thread

Hrmm. If you wanted to save it as a file, and then load that file as a texture then maybe this plugin could help: https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?3851-(39)-Rama-s-Extra-Blueprint-Nodes-for-You-as-a-Plugin-No-C-Required!&p=226090&viewfull=1#post226090 I haven't attempted it myself, but I guess it's available as a thing to try.
