  1. I feel that my constant TWEWY namedrops have paid off.
  2. Life

Yeah, my ex did this to me. She was literally living with the guy the day after we broke up. It's the shittiest.
  3. Life

Personally I think it's kind of nuts and incredible that my energy and individual atoms will be recycled endlessly, or until entropy renders it all inert at any rate. My individual consciousness will be gone, yes, but in a certain sense I'm also sort of immortal. Maybe this is the kind of feeling that people get from belief in a religious afterlife, or not. Neat. Also, usually when I can't sleep I think about aliens.
  4. Whenever I edit a post with a numbered list, it double-spaces the list items and there's no way to change it back. It looks like it starts acting weird when you quote it too.
  5. I Had A Random Thought...

I haven't had cable/satellite for years. Frankly I'm not sure what the point is anymore since I can just torrent stream everything anyway. (And if I really like it, I buy the Blu-Ray)
  6. E3 2013 Idle Thumbs Steam Chat

I'm not sure whether to count anything Kojima said as needlessly grandiose or not. MGS5 having race as a theme is almost enough to get it there, but he seems downright realistic compared to everyone else in the video.
  7. Movie/TV recommendations

So I watched Star Trek: Into Dorkness. why does she have a British accent when her dad has an American accent there is some obvious-ass foreshadowing going on all up in this biz several of the setpieces from the bridge of the enterprise are UPC scanners. There's a matching pair included in every single shot of the bridge that are identical to a weird replacement scanner we had when I worked at Blockbuster. Nobody liked using it because it was a piece of shit. A++ would watch again.

    Defense Against the Dark Arts.
  9. I Had A Random Thought...

I always liked this one on responsibility: "No single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood." Demotivational posters were kind of neat before the internet forgot what the point of the joke was and just turned everything into one.

Please... Don't open those wounds. E3 BINGO TIME
  12. Nintendo 3DS

I only have two full retail games on my system (Professor Layton and Luigi's Mansion), but they both weigh in at nearly a gig (nearly 7000 black each, which would be about 0.85GB), You might want to consider a larger card. The good news is that data transfers are as simple as drag and drop.

How do you enter group chat? Also, Nintendo's doing a one-hour Nintendo Direct on the eleventh that would be fun to chat through. They're also doing some small events on the show floor, but it's not clear if they're going to be streamed or not (eg: apparently there's going to be a one hour Pokémon X and Y roundtable at some point).
  14. Omni

I personally sat through like a third of the movie to take that screencap, thank you very much.
  15. Survival Games

There was that one DS game, Lost in Blue. Never played it, though.
  16. Software

Oh, and for actual software, I use Rainmeter, which is a free thing that turns your computer into a hilarious movie computer. Basically you can easily find, build, or customize tiny applications that add a GUI element for just about anything. Currently I have one keeping visual track of all my torrents, a nice date/time display since I never look at the taskbar, and a replacement wallpaper since Windows keeps messing with mine.
  17. Software

Do Chrome extensions count? Because I use the following: 4chan Plus: adds tons of extra functionality to 4chan, making it much less of a hassle to use. Adblock: self-explanatory. Animal Crossing Music: plays looping Animal Crossing BGMs based on time of day. Best. Checker Plus for Gmail: instant Gmail alerts; also lets you check your inbox without navigating to Gmail itself. Fullscreen Homestar Runner: embiggens Homestar Runner cartoons since the site was made like ten years ago and never modified to work on modern screen resolutions. Herp Derp for Youtube: improves quality of Youtube comments. imgur Extension by Metronomik: I've completely abandoned pretty much all other image hosting methods. Right click to rehost, upload by dragging something straight to your browser, and instantly screencap a page, view, or area. Magic Actions for Youtube: lets you switch to a Youtube dark theme instantly, binds volume to the mouse wheel, centers Youtube videos on the page instead of having to use their awful current layout, lets you automate quality and size settings, and has a custom "cinema mode" that plays the video against a simple customizable background. Media Hint: lets non-Americans use Pandora internet radio. Search By Image (Google): right click to reverse image search. Endlessly useful. Speed Dial 2: replaces the default Chrome homepage with a customizable layout of quick links. It's basically the same thing, but it looks much much nicer.
  18. Nintendo 3DS

It's like Pictochat, except asynchronous, online, and now the dicks jump RIGHT OUT at you. (Jeremy Parish and Philip Armstrong are both on my friend list, so the first month of Swapnote was nothing but charming little bespoke drawings of Mega Man. It's super. It's probably going to get rolled into Miiverse when the 3DS version of that launches, though)
  19. Nintendo 3DS

Well, personally, I bring it with me everywhere and always leave it turned on because of Streetpass, which is the secret best feature of the system. In addition to Streetpass' own self-contained applications (Puzzle Swap and Find Mii), it encourages me to keep going back to play Super Mario 3D Land (the first Mario game I've 100%ed in nearly a decade because it's so darned good) by unlocking more short bonus content. Professor Layton's daily puzzles ensure that I play the game at least once a day as well. Luigi's Mansion 2 is charming as hell for 90% of the game and has some fantastic multiplayer. Swapnote is surprisingly great if you get a decently-sized friend list. Virtual Console on the go is perfect for quick bursts (Mega Man 2 remains rad), and I haven't even had time to touch the games other people have been bugging me to try; like Pushmo, Kid Icarus, and Fire Emblem. If I'm being 100% honest, I've largely been playing the DS Pokémon games on mine, in anticipation for X and Y in October, because I am a butt.
  20. Nintendo 3DS

I know everyone says it's the best Zelda ever and all, but I've never been able to really get into Link's Awakening. It's charming and all, but it just doesn't click for me for some reason. At the moment I'm passing on the Oracles. do it do it do it It's so totally worth it. Like 99% of my gaming is on the 3DS these days.
  21. I Had A Random Thought...

So I have the most amazing idea for a a reality TV show. It came to me in a dream last night. The idea is you have to live in a shared house with all the other contestants while you each try to invent something. Your invention has to be a completely original product built primarily out of the contents of a junk heap that you were given an hour to sift through and collect scrap from on the first day of shooting. After you build your invention, you have to present it to an audience of investors and your peers, but you have to do it in your underwear.
  22. Cartoons!

So I finally got around to watching the last few episodes of Mystery Incorporated. That was nuts. Tremendous spoiler warning: Oh, also, might as well mention the most recent Adventure Time. With all the recent sympathy for the Ice King, it was kind of jarring to see him in full-on creepy weirdo mode again. I'm glad they did it though.
  23. I completely forgot there was an iOS port. What bugged me most about that port was that it completely missed the point of the original game being about social isolation by plugging your goddamned twitter feed into NPC dialogue. Also, the best part of the misheard lyrics in that game is that sometimes the actual lyrics to some background tracks are hilarious Engrish rap, so anything your brain invents is probably going to make more sense than the real deal.
  24. Things in games that terrify you irrationally

Timed sequences. Also, if we want to extend this out to "scary moments in non-scary games;" Dead Hand, about half of Earthbound, and that fucking piano from Super Mario 64.
  25. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Oh, before I forget... Gunshow is fantastic. I've been following KC Green since his Jesus And The Man days and he just keeps getting better and better. Oglaf is pretty great, but I've never made a thing out of it for some reason. Achewood rubs me the wrong way though. I've never been able to really get into the comic, which is fine, but Onstad was pulling weird fundraiser scams long before Kickstarter was a thing. The only work of Jason's that I've read were Hey, Wait... and his contributions to Flight, which I thought were good enough, but I never really bothered to look into any more.
