  1. Tearaway - PS Vita

In Japan, Tearaway is being promoted by a children's show host from a show that ran from 1967-1990 and taught kids how to make paper crafts. This is sort of brilliant and also mind-boggling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=GyU_obzgB38
  2. Stick it to the man

Even though I know it's for PC, I can't help but look at that trailer and go "that sure looks like a Vita game."
  3. It's beginning to look a lot like...

This thread will just gradually turn into nothing but ironic Christmas videos.
  4. It's beginning to look a lot like...

Guess I'll have to find a Christmas avatar now. Also, CHRISTMAS SPECIALS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IweZJa1-BtM
  5. Jake's weird little "what's this video game about this video game? And I can play as a pirate!" made the episode for me.
  6. Webcomics

Gunnerkrigg Court: magic, technology, conspiracy, and British schoolchildren. Gunshow: KC Green is like the new R. Crumb or something. Cucumber Quest: basically like Paper Mario, but as a webcomic. Adorable. Blaster Nation: Dorks doin' dork stuff. I'm gonna' be honest and say I have no idea why I find this compelling. Paranatural: imagine if Bleach was good. Awkward Zombie: mostly video game jokes; some really good expressions. Broodhollow: Kris Straub's fantastic period piece horror comic. Nerd Rage: more video game jokes. Whomp: the most self-deprecating gag comic I've found in a long time. Also the only good use of a self-insert character. Fanboys: this one's been really weird lately, but it's ostensibly a decent video game humour thing. Manly Guys Doing Manly Things: manly video game jokes. Secret shame: Spinnerette: super cheesecakey superhero comic.
  7. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

I've never seen their digital equivalents, but I find the print editions look really dull and washed-out in a way that's totally inappropriate for the tone of those books.
  8. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

I definitely prefer the black and white look, but I like the oversized hardcover treatment that the colour volumes are getting a lot too. Also, the Scott Pilgrim colour editions are at the very least much better than the Bone colour editions.
  9. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

Black and white or colour? I have mostly first editions of the black and white printing but the nice big hardcovers they're doing for the colour version are pretty swank. I highly recommend this rare Scott Pilgrim floppy if you manage to find it cheap somewhere. I bought it back when Oni Press still sold it on their website and it goes for a lot on eBay now, but there's probably scans out there if it comes down to it. It's very light on content, but it has a short story integral to the foreshadowing of Evil Ex #4 (a twist that I totally called at the time).
  10. Life

I have never actually heard 99% of urban dictionary's content actually used outside of urban dictionary. Also, having Googled "elf-on-a-shelf," if I were a kid and thought that that thing was alive, I would probably freak out and go at it with a pair of scissors or something.
  11. GOTY.cx 2013

This was actually the first year I've ever watched it. All I have to say is that I'm excited for Giant Bomb's GOTY event to wash the taste out of my mouth.
  12. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

This is also the reason why you don't want to use the gamepad if you try someone else's Wii U. Wii U games I have played on the toilet this year: Wind Waker, Mario 3D World, Earthbound, that fucking Donkey Kong game in Nintendo Land
  13. Movie/TV recommendations

I have the three-disc Blu-Ray, which is surprisingly cheap apparently. It has an entire second disc of featurettes and stuff.
  14. GOTY.cx 2013

Do we know what No Man's Sky is being developed for? I get the feeling it's PC-only, but I can always hope.
  15. GOTY.cx 2013

I had to turn VGX off 'cause it was so bad.
  16. GOTY.cx 2013

Reggie threatens to beat Joel with a stick. Best.
  17. GOTY.cx 2013

"if you don't see a game at this year's show, it's because -like the female orgasm- it doesn't exist." This is literally the worst thing I've ever seen.
  18. GOTY.cx 2013

The X is short for... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZAhqEiq4cA
  19. The Official Video Game Music Corner

    Video game Christmas time music!
  20. Waluigi is an enigma. Wario's desire to mimic Mario, the hero, is an understandable one, but why does Waluigi aspire to be an imperfect copy of poor old second banana Luigi? ...find out in Waluigi's Waluland, coming Q4 2014.
  21. I think it might be for that the best that the people who worked on PATV and PAR are being distanced, even forcibly, from the increasingly hostile face of PA. I know I'd go back to watching Checkpoint if it didn't mean visiting Penny Arcade.
  22. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

    edit: I'm an idiot d'oyyyy
  23. If Reggie comes onstage at the VGX awards and sees his shadow, there will be four more weeks of Luigi.
  24. Life

I have a hard time with Christmas, but I'm trying to get back into the spirit this year. I got me a (tiny, fake) tree!
