  1. Nintendo 3DS

They made a huge deal out of the fact that Yoshi's Island director Takashi Tezuka is acting as producer on this one. Of course, he also worked as senior producer on Yoshi's Island DS and Yoshi's Story. ...And Yoshi Touch & Go...
  2. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

So has anyone been reading Afterlife With Archie? My friend says it's really good and I'm not sure if I want to start reading it now or wait and see if there's a TPB at some point. Frankly I'm just astonished that a serious zombie horror story set in the Archie universe is a thing that's actually happening. EDIT: looks like there's a trade of the first five issues coming in April. Phew.
  3. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

For some reason I'm only listening to Leningrad Cowboys this week. I'm not really sure why.
  4. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

why would a guy that big need a shield why not get some pants to protect his junk from attacks from below instead
  5. Movie/TV recommendations

I just watched Frankenweenie. I had nearly forgotten that Tim Burton is sometimes capable of making decent films. The Asian kid ventured into kind of uncomfortable stereotype territory at times though.
  6. When reality and video games collide.

A recent protest in a nearby town got some similar photos out of it. (the guy burning the cop cars was allegedly a police informant trying to make native protesters look more violent than they actually were, by the way)
  7. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

why would they describe the shape of it as being like something that doesn't exist in their world
  8. I Had A Random Thought...

I JUST THOUGHT OF THE BEST IDEA FOR AN INDIE GAME PARODY TITLE BUT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO GET ANY MILEAGE OUT OF IT
  9. anime

JP is drawn a lot differently during intense moments than he is during quiet ones, so you can see more similarity here:
  10. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

I played this when it went free on PS+ this week! My overall impression was "good, not great." There's a lot to love in there, but it's big story point didn't deliver at all for me. I did really like some of the background worldbuilding stuff, though. I like that it's there as just kind of a snapshot of a bigger world, and you don't get bogged down with lore explaining everything.
  11. anime

    Separated at birth?
  12. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

It's like a metaphor for life.
  13. Cartoons!

YESSSSSSSS I loved the first season of Wakfu, but stopped partway through season 2. I'm so happy to see it finally being picked up for an English release. Also, you should keep going. It's weird that they decided to do a parody of anime filler arcs by having everyone play soccer for four episodes, but after that is where it really gets good.
  14. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

All the stuff about the enemies being unique and developing a history with your character sounds both really cool and exactly like one of those big picture ideas that people use to sell their game that either has no impact on the game at all or turns out to be a flat-out lie.
  15. PS Vita

I know I'm probably the only one who cares about this game, but Danganronpa looks a fucking bonkers interpretation of Phoenix Wright by way of Persona 4 and I'm really excited. It comes out next month; hopefully I'll be able to afford it.
  16. Nintendo 3DS

I got really excited when I saw that the first three Phoenix Wright games are being rereleased as a 3DS remake compilation; and then really sad when I realized it probably won't release here, what with Capcom only releasing the fifth game digitally and all. Just imagine, though: You could have four of the games installed digitally and Apollo Justice in the cartridge slot! You'd have so much Ace Attorney on one system!
  17. Movie/TV recommendations

I understand. And nostalgia aside, sometimes movies are just cleaned up pretty badly. There's an infamous 2010 HD release of Predator that has waaaay too much digital noise reduction, making everyone look like a creepy wax dummy.
  18. Movie/TV recommendations

I watched The Whisperer in Darkness, a 2011 film cleverly disguised as 1931 film based on the story of the same name by HP Lovecraft. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=A_ee9K9hXtw Outside of the somewhat jarring CG, it's actually really good! It's an expansion on the original story that stays mostly consistent with its tone and mood, and it does an acceptable job of never breaking from the idea that it's really a 1930s monster movie.
  19. Cartoons!

    | (• ◡•)| ADVENTURE TIME! (❍ᴥ❍ʋ) So I really loved the newest episode, "Blade of Grass."
  20. Spelunky!

What's with the alien on my title screen?
  21. The Shitty Joke/Anti-Joke Thread

What's brown and rhymes with snoop?
  22. Spelunky!

Fucking finally (huge size/secret character/hidden level spoilers):
  23. HP Lovecraft

Okay, so I've been listening to old HP Podcraft episodes and I think they narrowed down the most hilariously awful, incredibly racist thing Lovecraft ever wrote: "The Street." There's a decent audiobook version here, number 21. It's only fifteen minutes long.
  24. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

Aw, poop. OnO Yours will almost certainly be better anyway, so I should find a different thing to do.
  25. Feminism

I actually had the same theory about Quiet. This statement right here in particular reminds me more than anything of Kainé from Nier, who I'm still kind of divided on.
