Related to the thread title: who here thinks Donkey Kong Country 2 is subtitled "Diddy Kong's Quest" and not "Diddy's Kong Quest"?

It's because Pikmin goes out of your way to make you feel bad when they die. There's a whole lot in those games about how Olimar is actually the villain of the whole piece, exploiting the Pikmin to satisfy his own greed. The second game makes it the most obvious, but even in the first one, the ship part guided by the final boss is Olimar's piggy bank and not something vital to his survival. It's a really fascinating theme for a strategy game to take. Looking back through my Miiverse profile (this was a while ago), I posted this screenshot one day later, but I think that was in New Game Plus. Anyway, I beat Pikmin 3! I wanted to shave time off since it was my second run and... well...

A thread for drawing pictures of video gamesmen. I drew a thing for he first time in ages. Pen and watercolour pencils, touched up just slightly in Photoshop. I'm most pleased with purple, partially because purple is my favourite kind of Pikmin anyway. I took a few creative liberties to make them more distinguishable from one another, like very slightly adjusting their heights and builds. Blue has webbed digits since it's amphibious, white has dangerous-looking pistils because it's poisonous, etc.

Soylent is neat in theory but from what I recall doesn't actually have a full day's supply of nutrition in it, probably because it was invented by Some Guy On The Internet and not an experienced nutritionist. Some of the early testers had serious malnutrition problems, as I recall. Also,

Sick tat. So yesterday was interesting. I had to postpone a job interview because it conflicted with a mandatory appointment with a government working about finding a job. Irony! I also called my uncle. I haven't spoken to him in 6+ years, but I always respected him. I'm gonna be talking to him in person on the first. I want help with all the shit I've been struggling with. As expected, my parents haven't even told any of my other relatives that I'm gay, so that's gonna be a fun conversation. I know that I should ostensibly be feeling good about this, but it still feels wrong.

Yeah, this is my concern too. I'm not looking forward to working for a jar with Donald Trump's head in it. I'm otherwise super jazzed about it though. I especially want to give advanced AI a chance, because I figure there's no horrible thing that AI could do that we haven't already at least tried. I'm so ready for robotic law enforcement that doesn't murder unarmed teenagers because it doesn't like the exact hexidecimal colour value of their skin.

I wasn't gonna say anything because I didn't wanna rain on anybody's parade, but since we're all doing it... I have a strong feeling this game is gonna be disillusioning for a lot of people who grew up with Banjo-Kazooie who will have to come to terms with the fact that those games were terrible.

I'm honestly a little disappointed that Brad and Jeff agreed to do the quiz, because they should know by now that Dan will take any available out to prove that he's right about something. They literally got one question wrong each and he still concluded that it meant Wise was just as good as Kirkhope. It's the same reason I secretly hope Dan loses every Mario Party Party.
