It's Tuesday I've got 1 level to beat in the story on normal. I think I need to grind and level some heros up before I beat it and then I'm probably done. I'd like to get a five star hero at some point, I've pulled like 20 heros and none have been 5* :/ after that there's no real point in continuing... that said, if I pulled like 2-3 high tier 5* heroes I'd probably continue playing. It's fun when your heroes are beasts. its not fun when you have a 4* archer who's complete wank, who you've leveled up to 18 and is still wank

Whattt the fuuuuuck. Just got my first 4 star hero to level 20 and went to upgrade them to 5 stars. it cost 20,000 feathers (I have 30) and 20 tier 2 badges (of which I have zero). I was not expecting that. Damn free to play ladies and gentleman

I've been doing the training level quiet a bit and I r got a feeling that you only earn experience if you are fighting energies of similar of higher level. so for example I've got a couple level 18 & 19 heroes, and they aren't receiving any xp from doing to level 15 training mission. also, I'm running out of stamina fast now that the mission require more. i got my ass handed to me in the arena today

I haven't actually experienced any grinding yet, I can just see it on the horizon. Don't let that put you off if you are thinking of trying it out. I would highly recommend so far

Just reading about upgrading a heros star value. So you can change a 3 star hero to 4 stars, first you need to get them to level 20. But annoying when you upgrade there star value the reset to level 1 heroes again. The grind is real

Is the combat the same as in the 3DS game or is that more robust? I can see me hitting a difficulty wall after about 10 hours and then some serious grinding will have to be involved. Also a lot of luck, as my two 4 star heroes are taking names, where as my 3 and 2 star heroes are all a bit pants. I also got a 4 star healer which I haven't needed to use yet but guess he'll be very important as the game gets harder. Ive been letting the game auto run quite a lot, I actually feel like the AI is better at playing the game then me. I've leveled my castle up to 80% extra xp, I feel like that's more important then recruiting tons of heroes at this early stage

Finally started this yesterday having had it since launch and it made a really bad first impression. What's with all that fucking UI shit all over the screen? Bananas. And a permanent 'X to Skip' in the lower left corner for the duration of all cut scenes. Are you fucking kidding me?! These are all design problem that were solved a decade ago. Press a button during a cut scene to reveal the skip button. Two stage skippage. press and hold button to reveal destination maker in case you get lost. Having that shit on the screen AT ALL FUCKING TIMES makes me want to take a poop on the game disc and send it back. Are they insane? Has some insane person crept into the studio at night and changed all the design documents? I found a helpful article today detailing all the options to switch off the to make the game tolerable. But honestly I have no real desire to start it up again. I'll just spend an hour going through all the cupboard in my own house instead. video games were a mistake.

Perhaps browser issue, or screen size? I was using Firefox earlier and got the smaller tool bar where all the icons did something different then expected. i like it, let's keep it like that.

The latest episode of 'Idle thumbs 2010' better known as Daft Souls was really good. They even talked about far cry 2 and Jurassic park http://coolghosts.net/cool-stuff/2017/2/1/daftsouls88 this podcast should get folded into the idle thumbs family. I wonder if that would be beneficial to each other? especially considering idle thumbs doesn't want to talk about games anymore, daft Souls can be their gaming podcast.

Just watched the Mario trailer again. There's no coins!? Mario is collecting purple triangles instead. also, Mario is now a peaky blinder throwing around his razor blade accessorised cap. Nintendo get their inspiration from the funniest places -

Oh wow that's really interesting. James Remar has a weird voice -
So this got lost completely in the E3 mire, probably because it was a narratively focused CG trailer which had to compete against gameplay or in-game trailers from Batman, The Order, Ass Creed, Uncharted, The Sims 4 etc I loved last years reboot which left me salivating at the prospect of a sequel. What additions or changes would be made to the gameplay and mechanics? Where will it be set? which direction would they go in with story and tone? I expected the sequel to get a little more whimsical in tone, start introducing stuff like dinosaurs and mummies (we all know this game is going to have zombies. AN ANCIENT EVIL AWAKENS!) Going by this trailer in seems as though they are holding firm to their gritty re-imagining which i'm cool with in that its super unpredictable! I really couldn't tell you what this game is going to offer up, in terms of like... EVERYTHING! Now, we all joke about how Nathan Drake is the worlds largest mass murderer, and Lara was batting for that record in her 'origins' outing. BUT i feel like Crystal Dynamic did a great job of creating a plausible scenario where all that murdering didn't seem wholly unnecessary. So the 'set up' if you didn't know is that there's this mysteries island surrounded by constant storms, ships would get caught in these storm and end up shipwrecked on the island (which explains why all the enemies are men, they're all ex-sailors ) Once shipwrecked you can never leave this island because of the constant storms. So a strange new civilisation is born, a cult, they start worshipping a storm god blah blah blah. but what was clever about this tribal civilisation was that anyone who could think for themselves, who would question what was going on, question loyalty to the leaders and the storm god would get weeded out and murdered, leaving only the easily brainwashed, the blindly devoted, the morons. So yeah, you are surrounded by brainwashed crazies, all that have already had a taste for murder and it really is kill or be killed It's a bit of a long shot but what if these traumatic events have left Lara a damaged delusional cold psychopathy, what if this time round they make Lara into an anti-hero. Although out of context, there's no real justifying the murders committed in the trailer above. Crystal Dynamic are going to have a real hard time justifying all the killing this game will no doubt have especially if the enemies are just a rival criminal gang of tomb raiders. Maybe the game will start with you walking through a pillaged Eskimo village that the baddie left in their wake on their search for a tomb, some shit like that. Anyway discuss. Tell me your deepest, darkest tomb raiding desires
