  1. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

GTA V fuck it, i'm calling quits. I've had it for almost 3 months now, managed about 50% completion rate. Its fun and all that i guess but there's just no draw for me, its too much of a commitment. I'll take EDF any day of the week over this.... which is exactly what i'm doing GTA V It would be the perfect game to have just sat on your (PS4) hard drive that you can dip into whenever. But the disk is giving me evils i need to send it back (rental innit) God i hope if/when it does come to playstation 4 it'll have some kinda of save/progress file transfer
  2. InFAMOUS Vanaman

From the footage I've seen I haven't seen any of the bullshit floaty climbing buildings, press x add infinite. That was the crap which took up literally half of my play time in the previous games. Here it seems that they've bypassed it by having you running up walls, going through steam events and just having generally more mover-ability in the air. A super hero game doesn't need to get bogged down with scaling buildings
  3. InFAMOUS Vanaman

i wouldn't bother, you'd probably just burn yourself out before hitting this game
  4. InFAMOUS Vanaman

You're right. I have never bothered to finish either Infamous 1 or 2, a combination of having zero interest in the (uninteresting) story and super monotonous game play. BUT LOOK AT DEM GRAPHEX It seems as though they're taking the story a bit more seriously this time round, less cliché "comic book". Maybe that'll be enough to pull me through Regrettable the game play doesn't look too dissimilar from from the previous game's :/ but what else can they do? Maybe add in some eavesdropping missions

  8. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Just FYI this is coming to ps3/xbox360 Next gen doesn't start until witcher 3. It's all about scale baby
  9. I tried to find the domain as soon as the cast ended too . I didn't really get very far, but then again I don't really know what I'm doing.
  10. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I haven't! I'll give them a go, thanks Edit: oh wow that was rad
  11. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

Coming to VR goggles http://the-witness.net/news/2014/01/what-that-vr-post-was-about/ Also, nice write up of valves VR headset which blow links too http://www.3delement.com/?p=332 In my brain the witness has been the flagship VR title, even if Blow himself wasn't convinced until very recently. Ever since first seeing the game around the same time VR started to get traction I wanted to experience the witness in VR. Annoyingly the VR version will probably come a lot later than the games initial release?
  12. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

30 seconds in to Touche Amore sound uncannily similar to Norma Jean.... Ooooh Norma Jean has a new album I didn't know about! I've been listening to 'the veils' a lot this week, I love em. Start with the first album, I love the vocals

They must be working on it I thought exactly the same thing this morning, that this game will probably not give us the kind of freedom dishonored had. I really like the player movement and contextual animations on show here though, the parting of curtains and the 'swooping'. I hope dishonored borrow liberally from what's on offer here Dishonored came out oct 2012, how long does it take to make a video game sequel these days? Edit. Sessler kinda likes it:

I don't trust gametrailers opinion on anything. They've been given the same preview footage as everyone else and made up some bullshit to talk over it, I don't believe anyone at gametrailers have played it recently unlike eurogamer who said explicitly that they had played it at a preview event Fuck gametrailers, they're just telling you what you want to hear They mention the sprawling city to explore (which they've been saying for a year) but have we actually had any evidence of this? Maybe this preview is a linear tutorial and the game opens up afterwards, or maybe, I fear, the sprawling city will just be a bunch of interconnecting corridors

I like that when collecting items his hand comes out and grabs it. It makes a lot of sense here of course. I wonder if this will become more of an emergent trend. I remember Chris praising the last of us for its collecting animation Once more games start doing this I feel the ones that don't will seem dated. (Skyrim, bioshock)
  16. Person of Interest

I made it to about ep 4 or 5 when it first started, don't think I'll go back to it I am watching the blacklist at the moment which is kinda similar... it isn't actually at all BUT it is a lot of fun and I would recommend I just watched Moon, what a fantastic movie. I saw it at the cinema which must be a good 4 years ago. I had completely forgotten how unbelievable fucking sad it is #sadface it made me throw away my peanuts! I need to look after myself! no matter what you do we're all going to get old, deteriorate and die (and that's if we're lucky). Fuck
  17. The Shitty Joke/Anti-Joke Thread

Perhaps the biggest joke of all, I'm an idle thumbs reader who doesn't own a PC English man, Irish man and a Scottish man escape from prison Whilst being pursued by guards in a near by town they find some sacks to hide in When the guards come across these three bulging sacks they become slightly suspicious and decide to take a closer look The guards prod the first sack containing the English man who says woof woof woof and the guards think its a dog They prod the second containing the scot who says meow, the guards presume a sack full of cats They prod the third and the Irish man says potatoes
  18. Thi4f

Hey! That's the Queens English We all over emphasise ever third here in old blighty
  19. Thi4f

Looks pretty The disembodied voice calls it a dumbed down, linear, easy action game
  20. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

The force unleashed! That's what I've been thinking of, a game where they took a franchise and ramped it up to the eXtreme I give you... Lord of the Rings Unleashed: Origins
  21. La-Mulana 2

yeah, has some extra shit on the end of the link http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/playism/la-mulana-2 it's fucking hilarious how the dude is all like "I'm going to reinvent video games!"
  22. La-Mulana 2

i search for it on me Vita but i dont thinks it actually out yet http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=683725
  23. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

I had a moan in the Invisible Ink thread, i was wishing that that had carefully crafted bespoke levels rather than procedural generated But actually, i'm all for it here! its the best thing the game has going for it. There is so many action/adventure games out there that you don't have to look very far to find a well crafted bespoke experience be it the last of us, DmC, Batman or lord of shadow 2 (which FYI i'm massively looking forward too) every flavours already available. But i can see from the perspective of a LotR fan wanting a well told bespoke experience, that this kinda suck We'll see. But yeah it'll probably amount to nothing, i couldn't help but picture this guy when i was watching the trailer :molyneuxsmall: :molyneuxsmall: That action looks super gross though, they've said they've used Batman as inspiration but then completely missed the point. Batmans combat is like a rhythm game, increasing in speed/difficult the longer your perform your combo. This has you constantly interrupted with scripted animations to perform slo mo quick time events.
  24. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Just talking about the trailer, it's pretty great that they've done a walkthrough as their reveal trailer. Far better than some CGI or live action bullshit The Lord of the rings (movie) gobblins, trolls, orks etc really don't do it for me. They're very rarely threatening or menacing, it's like your fighting an army of amphibious clowns
