  1. Is free to play inherently evil?

EA have just updated/changed PvsZ2 "During the fight, I lost a few lawnmowers, which is no big deal in a PvZ game, right? They'll be there in the next level I play... right? WRONG! With this new update, you now have to purchase lawnmowers to replace them one at a time, and the lost lawnmowers are gone on ALL levels, not just the super hard boss fight where I lost 5/6 of them. They cost about 2000 coins which is A LOT (unless they rebalanced the coin accumulation, which I highly doubt)." http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=765017 That's pretty shocking to me. To actually retro fit this shit into an already released game
  2. I tiny part of me hopes they make a terrible game just for how hilariously awkward it will get on this forum
  3. The Idle Thumbs 10th Anniversary Committee

I think it's fine to post a unblurred version? They're likely to take a picture and post it on the blog for everyone to see in the coming weeks so you're just delaying the inevitable... Life finds a way Also I don't think putting all that Vaseline on your lens is very good for your camera
  4. Congrats Chris Where's this campo santo email at? Also, now that they have hired more staff I think we need to add more video game names to the thread title
  5. A translated 4 page interview if anyone's interested http://www.allgamesbeta.com/2014/02/2014-year-of-new-persona-katsura.html
  6. Making a game? Pitch it here!

Boooooorrrrrrrring Your single screen adventure game should be about a haunted bue stop. You were pushed in front of a bus and killed and you are now a g g g ghost stuck in purgatory at the bus stop. You can possess people and use them to talk to the other passengers, using your observational skills to get a sense of what kind of person they are (murderer?) and what matters to them I've just sexed up your pitch with a murder mystery twist. BAM! No need to thank me The game is like Majoras mask, you play the same ten minutes of the morning commute each day. Different passengers come and go at different time, only certain passengers will talk/give out the right information depending on who they are conversing with. Guy with headphone on will ignore everyone except the pretty girl who arrives at 8:43am (or something less cliche) etc

  8. Tone Control 8: TOM FRANCIS

Why would a robot detective in a trench coat enter a fighting competition? That never stopped capcom. (Disclaimer, dudes not actually a detective and possible not a robot... Nobody knooooooows)

  15. Movie/TV recommendations

Watched 13 Assassins last night. Serious business Also last week we watched Broadchurch  seriously recommend it. It was so good in fact that we decided to not go too the cinema to watch wolf of wallstreet and instead stay in a watch the final three episodes.
  16. Getting into the industry?

Haha. THIS. it's like 9 yeas ago now but I did a 3D computer animation course at university, which was a 2 year HND and then the 3rd year tops it up to a degree. (I kinda fucked up the course by only turning up once a month) But I finished the 2 years HND with a pass and claimed my certificate \o/ and yet to this fucking day my parents think I flunked out of university and have nothing to show for it.Also hilariously, if I had bothered to go too my graduation ceremony due to the alphabetical order of courses/names I would have been the very first person to walk on stage and collect a certificate (they sent me the programme through the post) I wouldn't worry too much what your family thinks, it won't matter 5-10 years down the line
  17. Was that not just a scene from moonwalker? Maybe I'm just getting confused from the quiet bit in smooth criminal....which is fuck hilarious. Ooooooooooooooo and lots of exaggerated head nodding. Me and two friends were actually dancing to that music video at about 3am on New Years morning, doing our best MJ impressions with not a hint of irony. I have to post the video now. So. Good http://youtu.be/ceU4ANZKdOM

  21. Metro: Last Light

Although it's been a long time I would say... Yes it's a lot better The 'game' part of it is actually mostly enjoyable here.
  22. Metro: Last Light

Finished this last night meh, i don't think i like first person video game. This game somehow killed any interest i have for ever playing Half Life 3 lolololol Nah portals good My problem is with the silent protagonist. The most interesting story moments in this game are from the inner monologue of the protagonist on mission loading screens and diary collections, they are what bind the whole story together, gives reason to what you are doing and why. it just seems really strange that you are a mute during all the heavy story moments in game when people are talking at you when you are clearly playing someone else's story and have zero agency in the way it'll pan out. it just made me lose interest completely when people were talking as i felt like i wasn't part of the conversation The stealth was good, being given the choice between 'knock out' or 'kill' is massive and i wish The Last of Us gave you that option The enemy encounters were really good, giving you the option to stealth or all out attack both equally as rewarding, and when being stealthy they give you multiple routes and passageways to slink past your enemy. The game really gave personality to your enemies, i treated different faction completely differently. i outright murdered the nazi bastards but then sneaked past the reds, then later in the game you meet a gang of rapists and i went all out guns and dynamite blazing. All in all :tmeh: a mixed bag. worth a play if you are interested... I'd suggest playing it on hard difficulty, the game was a piece of piss oh and that bloody tank, top google result for "How do i kill the tank..." That top video has 62000 views which doesn't count how many people visited the text guides on IGN or Game FAQ that also pop up in the search listings. oh dear oh dear oh dear Considering this is 5 mins before the end of the game and we can guesstimate that around 30% of people who bought this game bothered to get that blah blah blah i'm boring myself now game completion stats, metros not in here but you get an idea: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=736972 anyway long story short i reckon 9/10 poeple had to google how to kill that tank
