I picked up the ridiculously titled new super mario bros U as my free game in the mario kart promotion... And the game is kicking my ass. I had similar problems with the GBA and DS Marios, both of which I quit as soon as I hit the underwater levels. Stupid blow fish. I've only played the wii U game a bit but my problem this time round is that Im running out of time a lot, I need to stop trying to 100% every level. Serious kudos here

The wheel is just a hollow bit of plastic you clip the wiimote in isn't it? You can use the touch screen game pad thing as a steering wheel if you want. I haven't tried it myself yet, but I was battling it out for first place online with a metal mario using motion controls so it must be pretty responsive

Yeah they weren't upgrades, they were just different set ups. Like switching high top speed for better handling etc.

I tried playing it on my vita and I didn't really like it either, I think it lends it self to the big screen. Mario kart is actually really good, maybe it is the better game, they're both great! And quite different actually, 2/3 of sonic is in a boat or a plane which control completely differently. I shouldn't be comparing them and choosing favourites. I want a new hydro thunder! Actually I want a sonic racing 2! Maybe they could make a mash up game like sonic x capcom racing. Just looked on sumo digitalis website and there latest project is TBA, hopefully it is another kart racer. So i've popped a few more hours into Mario Kart. Played through all the cup's at least once. There's no denying the game is fantastic but it could've been better in my eyes. Theres a few stand out tracks like the wario ski slope and the water slide, oh and bowsers castle. But then there's a fucking pallet swap course! what the hell, and some of the reimagined courses are a bit shit like the ice one and i didn't really like what they did to 'SNES' Donut Plains 3, which sucks as that track loading up was my HOLY SHIT moment The character roster is a little flat as well :/ its full of babies and turtles (i think the problem with them is that their faces don't emote very well) I love Peach, oh and Wario in a monster truck is hilarious as he's three times bigger then everyone else on the track. The controls did feel funky to start with (i guess as i was attuned to sonic racing) but i've got the hang of it now. The power/slide has changed to 'charges faster if you're steering into the corner' as opposed to the N64 left right left right method, i can see why they did this with the introduction of waggle controls. Anyway....i think i still have to give it to Sonic all star racing. All y'all need to pull your heads out of your butts and get on the all stars band wagon.

Oh and, i also bought a Wii U on Monday in a tale not too dissimilar to Nick's I started by adding 'Mario Kart' to our weekly grocery shopping list to test the water on Sunday to which my girlfriend had no objections (although at this point she didn't realise it meant buying a whole new console) but our local supermarket doesn't stock anything Nintendo. Then i hit the shops Monday lunch time. First shop: no Mario kart bundles, second shop: no Wii U consoles at all, third shop: no electronics department, fourth shop: the Nintendo plinth was utterly bare apart from a singular 3DS carry pouch. I tried one last shop on my way home after work and they had it. BOOM! Then i went home and spent an hour updating the Gamepad and console firmware, it was delicious! You can be my Nintendo friend: Mington Disclaimer: i will beat your top scores Now im going to venture out this lunch time to blow almost £60 on a wiimote and nunchuck so i can play skyward sword (does anybody actually like that game?)

Quick search of 2d dark souls found this Wayward Souls review iphone game... yuk. With the popularity of dark souls there must be a ton of games like this in development

slow, ugly, clunky, no lock on? (I was using a sword) lots of loading between small arenas, simplistic I'm sure I barely scratched the surface but I can tell it's not for me. The pace alone is a big enough turn off for me.

New York: 'Top of the Rock' is better than the 'Empire state building' for all your standing on a top of a large building needs. You get a far nicer view of the city and the park No more sleep (haven't done it myself but it's what trendy people do) um that's all i've got really Open top tour buses are a really good way of seeing the cities. Its what we did in San Francisco recently, getting a bus across the golden gate bridge through Sausalito and up into Muir woods was awesome are you going to Vegas? Are you driving? Are you travelling on a budget?

i think i'll download the monster hunter demo and see if it clicks. I'm have a full years paid up membership to a games rentals service with two disks at a time, i've got retail games coming out of my ears. So no doubt i'll play through all of the games suggest over the next 6 months, thats why im after re playability
