Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.
osmosisch replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
Ha, I did exactly that, DaveC. Gwyn's still alive, everything else is dead. -
I don't understand why, to be honest, given that it's the rule rather than the exception.

Some of the weirdest fiction I've read is Jeff Vandermeer's Ambergris books, starting with this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Saints_and_Madmen A city built in a swamp with a symbiotic fungus possibly sentient possibly not...weird as hell.

Zangarmarsh! Cool!

It's possible to be both a creative, smart guy and a bad project lead at the same time, unfortunately.

3 questions for those of you who work in the Industry
osmosisch replied to CrosswalkNorway's topic in Video Gaming
If you haven't checked it out yet, this thread covers a lot of the same ground. -
Feel free to interpret that as a pre-emptive/general request.

Wow you have the best username. Also avatar. Welcome!

Yeah I haven't seen SpeedyDesiatio in ages

The latest League season also added a trinket slot that you could see as a sort of selectable ability. Also less Video game tribalism please.

This game depresses me so much because I love everything about it to bits - except platforming. Why does one of the best roguelikes have to have a core mechanic I dislike

Having morrigan and a mage main character that both specialise in frost and healing pretty much trivialises the game as I recall. Freezing is super powerful. It's been forever since I played that game though. I'm actually tempted now, augh. -
I have 4 Broken Age coupons free for the taking.

Sorry D: -
Is the an extensive "History of inventions" book out there?
osmosisch replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Books
Somewhat unrelated but this thread reminded me of this amazing book that was very formative for me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Way_Things_Work -
People who have the ability to tell that something actually is pretentious rather than smart are usually themselves smart enough to know and sling shit.

This sounds like great news to me, I'm curious what Ken will come up with, as well as the ex-Irrational devs. Infinite was a bit disappointing so it's sensible and inspiring to try and scale things down again.

The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
osmosisch replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
Sheesh, like that would ever be his decision. Come on. -
The common solution to this is to have a bot in there with ops and nobody else does, which is fine by me (in fact I'd prefer it over the "funny" kick stuff you otherwise will inevitably get).

Hey guys! I was wondering If you guys have received your KS Rewards, I can't find mine!
osmosisch replied to CrosswalkNorway's topic in Idle Banter
Completely fair and understandable, I just wanted to bring up my weird feelings (I know these are important to you guys).- 141 replies

I have to say I'm a bit weirded out seeing the anniversary cool thing being brought up in a quid pro quo way. The actual pledges should be obligation enough not to tarnish a spontaneous gesture of appreciation.- 141 replies
