  1. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

That's why you doing so was not useful.
  2. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

I'd not call that terifically useful either.
  3. Use of Weapons

    Well said, Nachimir.
  4. "Ethics and Journalistic Integrity"

I've also written in. This is outrageous.
  5. Books, books, books...

Depends, do you want more or less future? Neuromancer is an absolute classic more on the strength of having invented cyberspace/'jacking in' than being a particularly amazing novel. Its follow-ups (Count Zero, Mona Lisa Overdrive) then deal with fallout from the events of Neuromancer in various ways. With Virtual Light the direction of being more interested in subculture than in computer stuff per se comes strongly to the fore, and all subsequent novels are set closer and closer to the present day conceptually, though tech tends to be slightly more advanced. They're all good, but for different reasons.
  6. Books, books, books...

It's amazing how good Gibson is at, well, pattern recognition and extrapolation. He's like Douglas Coupland except about the future rather than the present.
  7. I'd say fuck bottled water in general to be honest. Nestle is the symptom here, not the disease.

@Nero @mylittlepwnies3 fun fact Steven change his name 2gaynor 2prove how progressive he is. While you fight gay stereotypes. #GamerGate Hahaha
  9. Other podcasts

From all the parenting material I've read this comes from the very common trap of parents with bright children who tend to praise how smart they are for picking something up quickly. This leads to believing that not picking up something quickly means you're failing (which sucks) and should go do something else. It also ties a lack of effort at learning into self-worth. I'm trying very hard to praise effort and practice instead, because I'd like to see my kids have more perseverance than I do (essentially zero).
  10. Books, books, books...

It's been a while since I read his Neutronium Alchemist books but I vaguely recall being a bit grossed out at times.
  11. League of Legends - 2014 World Championship

Amen. Last week has been amazing. I was absolutely flabbergasted when Alliance lost.
  12. Ello.co

Has this article been posted? It strikes me as a bit worrisome, but I don't know enough about this stuff to tell whether it is.
  13. INDIGO - so many dutch games to play

    Gotta work, sorry :/
  14. It was amazingly cool to hear Anita's cheerful, happy, funny mode. You can see peeks of sly humour in the femfreq videos but Anita unleashed is excellent. Hope to see her return.
  15. Wasteland 2

I'm holding off on this as my reward for finishing Divinity. Nice to hear that it's looking good.
  16. Shaders are pieces of code that modify how to render a pixel or a vertex, usually based on their own or neighbour's properties.

...what That has to be one of the most punchable tweets I've ever read.
  18. Feminism

I wouldn't say that's what it boils down to at all. She does point out the ways in which gender inequality hurts men as well, but that's hardly the core point. The worst thing you can say about that aspect is that she may present the negatives for men as too large relative to those for women.
  19. Spacebase!

I didn't purchase this because I tried the demo and saw it would be a very long shot before it would be really fun, and didn't want it cluttering my library until it actually was fun. Looks like a sound decision but I'd obviously be happier with a success story.
  20. Feminism

It's also fairly nonsensical in terms of content as far as I can tell. People play the game and turns into beams of light flying around being animes? I dont know man. Although Riot talks a lot of the right talk lately about their representation of females, their stuff still has a lot of weird tonedeafness. Just look at this recent effort:
  21. League of Legends - 2014 World Championship

From the EU having the games on an Asian timezone is massively more convenient. It's awesome not having to miss sleep. It sucks for the US but hey, now you know how the rest of the world feels the rest of the time Saying there's more people in the US than east Asia is just weird to me.
  22. League of Legends - 2014 World Championship

I'm watching. There's some pretty entertaining games but the only high-level one has really been Samsing White vs. EDG. The most fun game to watch was probably SSW vs AHQ. The biggest surprise for me so far has been TPA vs TSM. NA really seems to have stepped their game up this year, it's fun to watch. I can't wait for the other two groups though, I'm a lot more interested in how Alliance and C9 will compare to the rest of the world than groups A and B.
  23. Adulthood, Age, and Modernity

It's easy to joke about, but man let me tell you: two years trying to have a baby will suck most of the joy out of your sex life.
