Wailords Management Consortium: Idle Thumbs Pokémon
TheLastBaron replied to tegan's topic in Multiplayer Networking
If you want some Eevees I have something like 70-80 of them from like 5 years ago when I wanted to get the right nature for my Vaporeon -
I got a rare Rubick cloak drop during TI3 and now I have 10-15 drops from NEL (since there are tons of games and not many spectators it's fairly easy to get drops especially since the people in the league play super aggressive so there are tons of multi kills). The cloak is still probably the best drop though.

The one thing with the XL that I don't like compared to my DS Lite is the hinge seems a lot floppier on the XL. Oh that and the thing I mentioned about the volume slider getting nudged by my left hand a lot. Other than that I love it.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)
TheLastBaron replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Idle Banter
I tried to make a playlist of songs named after states and gave up like 15 states in. I already had compromised by picking California Dreaming over California by Joni Mitchell which led to picking the Hawaii Five-O theme for Hawaii and then things fell apart. -
How different do the different factions play? Magic put's a lot of effort into having each color have a very different play style and from what I've seen from Quinns on SU&SD it seems like the same is true for Netrunner, but having not had a chance to pick it up yet I don't actually know what different playstyles would entail.

The couple times I've gotten Russian players who would play with English tagged and refuse to communicate I reported them under communication. This was only if they queued under English and understood no English and didn't even attempt to pay attention to the team. I've had a couple of games where I was with a team that didn't speak any English but either understood what people typed or would use the chat wheel and that was cool (it's actually really neat being able to communicate via a set of predefined phrases which the other players receive in their own language.) However most of the time it's been Spanish speakers I get which is to be expected on NA West and since up until now they didn't have a choice to queue as anything besides English, Russian, or Chinese there wasn't anything to do. If I get a group of people or a random dude who flat out refuses to communicate I'll probably give them a communication report to see if it does anything, though only if they put in no effort to pay attention to the team since I don't mind people not speaking English, but trying to play with the team. I hope there are enough people queuing as the other languages so people don't just pick English to avoid long waits for games.

Yeah I'm so glad when I went to the island last night to farm beetles I left them in my box instead of selling them

Watched Dogma again last night, still so good.

Well this is interesting. -
I wish the volume slider on the 3ds xl locked in the off position like the 3d slider does. I always bump it because it's right where my left hand is.

#IdleThumbs on quakenet could be a thing that no one would ever use like the steam chat.

I just watched clue a month ago or so and it's still so good!

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I've heard this song so many times and I still can't get over how goddamn good it is. -
If someone wants to see what competitive Pokemon is like I'd recommend MtGXerxes's videos on YouTube. He's a cool guy and I used to watch his stuff all the time when I was really into the competitive scene during Gen IV

Just finished 999 on the ds because Virtue's Last Reward seems really popular on the 3ds. I guess I haven't actually finished the game because I got a bad ending so I'll have to play through it again. It was interesting and the puzzles were pretty fun, but the writing is hit or miss and the story was predictable. There's still 5 more endings and I'm assuming that to actually comment on the story I'd have to get the good one so I'll probably say more once I do that. I started the second play through but having to redo all the puzzles I already did sucks so I got bored and stopped.

I haven't tried Netrunner yet but what I will say in regards to the LCG vs CTCG is that one of the most fun aspects of something like MtG is limited formats like drafting or sealed which are exclusive to collectible card games.

I watch a few episodes of Stargate a week when I eat dinner, much in the way I think people have a glass of wine only I find this to be much more stress relieving.

Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube
TheLastBaron replied to pabosher's topic in Idle Banter
I don't know if this actually counts as being comical, but it's my favorite scene from adventure time (hence I'm the person who uploaded it). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNNFZsxcbSM -
Yeah I agree with you, though to a lesser extent the Mansion game is better with a full stack because you know how many of each color you have to work with and can plan accordingly. If I have a few groups of the same colors I'll go through the whole line and see what pieces I have before I actually put anything down. So I bought Shin Megami Tensei IV because with the $30 eShop credit it was basically only $20 since I know I'm going to be buying something within the next month or two. I don't know how I feel about it, in that I don't know really know what is going on in terms of the systems so I've been saving and restarting a lot. For example if I try and get a demon to join me and I get mad hustled I'll probably restart just because I don't know how much I'm being set back by losing all my items and money. It doesn't really feel like the game is hard as much as it feels like I don't have a good enough understanding of what's going to to make the right decisions. After playing for another hour or two I'll most likely be a lot better off. Also the writing in Fire Emblem is super bad, but I can't tell if I'm liking it because of that or hating it because of that (I'm something-ing it though, and I'm referring to the writing only here. I really like the game for sure.)

Wow, so my neighbor who just moved in a few days ago asked if I could come over today so we could get to know each other. He asked if I could come over at 12:30 and at 12:33 I turned my DS on and headed over to his out only to find out he wasn't even home. I was kind of mad because I thought the game as being stupid, but as I was walking away to do something else he ran up to me and started panting and when I talked to him he started apologizing for being late and saying how he had to do something and he couldn't get out of it even though he knew I was going to be coming over later. It was almost exactly like real life except my dog doesn't wear a denim jacket with the sleeves cut off.

I liked it, but sort of as a spinoff meaning I wouldn't want them to stop making the classic Advanced Wars games.
-
I woke up today and suddenly every single person I talk to is going on about how Knox and Muffy are spending so much time together and how they saw them sitting together drinking green tea. It's so scandalous! Also now everyone calls me Sweet-B.

For me as someone who takes my 3DS to class with me every day and gets 10 tags the 4 extra games are great. I come home every day and go through all the games and it's relaxing. If I was somewhere like PAX, however, I probably would skip all of them and only do Find Mii and the Puzzles.

I just found out that if you hold a you lurk around with your bug net ready, I can't believe ti took me this long ( it also took me 30 minutes to realize pressing a made you swim faster)
