  1. When I saw Fallout Shelter I actually thought about This War of Mine. Sadly I don't have an Apple device so I don't get to play. I'm glad to hear that the game operates just fine without the pay-for content, which was very plainly stated as being not necessary on stage.
  2. I dunno if anyone noticed but there was a lot of "exclusive for Windows 10" going on at E3, from Microsoft. So y'know, that shit is underway.
  3. E3 2015

Oh yeah, you know that almost-Mario-Party Animal Crossing game showed off during their Direct presentation? I was pleading at my monitor asking Nintendo why they would do such a thing. It's so cruel. "Sup everyone here to have a good ti- WHY ARE YOU HAPPIER THAN I AM"
  4. E3 2015

For me, my criticism with Nintendo is that they can't seem to strike a healthy pace for primary-entries to a series vs. all the side-content kind of games they make. I don't need Zelda every year, I don't even need it every other year. Skyward Sword came out in 2011 and all we have of the next entry is a teaser, with no new info a year after that teaser. Again, it's frustrating as a huge fan and I know the lack of a major series title is hurting their current console. I still don't want a Wii U at this point. As for the Metroid Prime Federation game, that actually is a nice itch to scratch after the disappointment that was Other M. Hopefully next year we get news on a new legit Metroid that isn't terrible toward Samus.
  5. E3 2015

What was frustrating about Nintendo's presentation is that it was full of side-content to major franchises, with Yoshi's Wooly World probably being the one exception. I don't think Nintendo should fall into the annual-franchise bullshit some companies try to pull off, but they have enough major franchises that we can go at least one major franchise entry a year without any one being cluttered up. A year for Mario, a year for Metroid, a year for Zelda, and then a year to just cool off all them. Really disappointed with the lack of info about the new Legend of Zelda they teased out last year too. That's unacceptable, from a business standpoint, and as a huge fan it's even more unacceptable.
  6. E3 2015

At 6pm PST tonight. It's being hosted by AMD if I remember right.
  7. E3 2015

I had to watch / listen to Ubisoft and Sony while at work but my impressions boil down to: Ubisoft: What the hell is going on and oh I guess they're making good on that Annual Creed thing. Sony: MIC DROPPING ALL OVER
  8. DISHONORED 2: MISS HONORED

    Nice coat.
  9. DOTA 2

Getting info on playstyle / role for each hero is just... That is very, very useful. Sometimes seeing that kind of info is an eye opener to folks so they'll know to adjust their focus. I probably swing into farming too much when I'm in a losing game, no matter what character I'm on.
  10. From the company that tried to insist that a --fast-- internet connection was mandatory for their console? This is a surprise? You can expect Microsoft to try and find ways to push people into being online. This is one of them.
  11. DOTA 2

Yesterday I played a (losing) match of DotA 2. Today, I decided I should get back into the swing of things regularly as I once did. Then I got rolled into a Spanish-speaking team despite choosing "English" as my only choice. And the only English my team was capable of speaking was to talk shit at me. I think I've had my fill of playing DotA 2 already!
  12. DOTA 2

Well there goes $10. I think what's helping this is that it's a $2 purchase, but people probably figure they should throw down $10 into their Steam funds and then just get 5 of those chests. So good move Valve, well played. No Faceless Rex for me but I'm pleased.
  13. It's not, at all. My employer went over a lot of data with me and it's fucked up how often it happens, and how much of an impact it actually has.
  14. Damn, if only I weren't past the cutoff time for Borderlands:TPS... I've never begrudged Valve for not having a refund system from the get-go. Because I can understand why it's hard to set up. It's digital products, one of the easiest things to 'steal.' Like you have to come to a decision about how people can download a product, then change their mind but retain the data despite not having access via your authentication system. Because it can be circumvented, if not now then later. Like are you okay with that? And businesses kinda shouldn't be. But at the same time, I do believe in returns being an option. Not an indefinite option (I work retail for a living, I get sick of that shit), but an option nonetheless. I've always seen this issue as something that meant more for people of the UK rather than people of the USA. Because the UK seems to have more strict guidelines about consumer protection and people just grow up with it expecting it everywhere. So when digital distribution hit the scene and it didn't quite fit the mold of those regulations, people had been fucking irate since.
  15. DOTA 2

I've gotta know something. What changed about Undying and Leshrac over the last year to make them huuuuuge picks (or bans) all of a sudden?
  16. DOTA 2

I'm seeing no such matchup in the TI listing in-game. Edit - Oh derp I found it, wow that was way back.
  17. DOTA 2

Na'Vi vs. Hellraisers' match 2 was the craziest shit I've seen as far as aggressive playstyles goes.
  18. DOTA 2

These server problems they're having make me cry.
  19. DOTA 2

The second match of TongFuWZ vs. EHOME in the Chinese qualifiers was pretty dope. And dopey.
  20. I don't see Bloodborne as being a game that the general population would be hyped on. Like it's not a system mover, it's specifically enthusiast candy.
  21. I haven't done this in a while, but the April 2015 NPD info is in. Here's the NeoGAF thread on it (first post with all the data): http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1046440 The biggest thing to happen is the XB1 finally topped the PS4 in sales in a month, and it saw a boom of 63% YOY. I'm not exactly high on the XBox this gen, but I'd rather it succeed since competition tends to drive people trying. MS is, of course, going to use this as a springboard for "fuck yeah we're awesome." Curious to see if it plays into their messaging at E3 this year. Sony's comment on April 2015 sales is more or less, "We still lead in cumulative sales, whatever."
  22. DOTA 2

If anyone has a ticket for TI2015 check out the first round of Unknown vs. EGX. Shadowfiend is goddamn AMAZING in that match, and there's a super great Roshan snipe by Clockwork.
  23. DOTA 2

Apparently the open qualifiers have been having problems today. This match I'm watching just now got paused by one of the admins and he told one of the team captains to contact him ASAP. It's really awkward. There's been accusations of teams changing rosters illegally (THAT IS A THING) today and maybe it happened again?
  24. P.T (Playable Teaser for Silent Hills)

I don't want to be aggressive in my being critical of this, but why would you base a hardware purchase on something that could have wildly changed on its course to being finished even if not canceled?
  25. Life

If I was there I would totally tell that guy, "The free market has spoken, and you're out of business."
