The Sense of an Ending

Recommended Posts

Sorry to drag up such an old topic again, I just finished reading this today and loved it.

I feel like maybe I missed something or am reading to much into the book.

I feel like the book relying so heavily on the unreliable narrator trope also plays into the ending. Is it possible Tony slept with Veronica's mother and is the father of Adrian 2, and then pointed Adrian 1 towards a relationship with the mother as well who upon learning she was pregnant killed himself?

Maybe the book really was as simple as it being Adrian, but I still feel the lessons the impact of the whole story. Veronica's anger against Tony would seem unfair and misplaced. If Tony is the father then he him not understanding the situation persists right to the end. Also why would Tonys presence make Adrian 2 uncomfortable unless he knew it was his father.

Anyone able to answer this in any certainty for me?
