Idle Forza 0x00: Is this going to be a thing that is?

Recommended Posts

Up for a game tomorrow evening starting at 8pm (GMT)?

Possibly... can't say for definite, but go ahead and I'll join you if I can.

I people try to do it tomorrow, I'd be in. My copy arrived in the mail today, so it would probably be the first time I put the disc in the tray, but as long as noone minds playing with a complete rookie, I'm game.

Sure. I need to leave for work at 4, which is 11 your time, but anytime before then is fine by me.

Excellent; shall we say 8-10pm UK / 1-3pm Canada?

That works for me, I think, although I will probably have people in the room annoying me, I booked the TV I think.

Fantastic game, some spectacular crashes too, especially the on in the Fiat 500s

That was fantastic. Thanks all for a great introduction to the game. I rolled. Twice. This demonstrates that Forza 3 has rolling. I saved a replay of the first one, so if I can be arsed, I'll go into whatever replay editing mode they have and maybe put up a video of Toblix and JonCole slamming my face into a wall and causing me to land on my hood. Dropped from 3rd to last on that flip. I look forward to joining in on weekly games if they happen. Wednesdays work alright for me, so hopefully I'll be able to attend with a 50% or higher success rate.

So thinking back, the only problem with the entire game was the connection problems at the start. With a few of the crashes at the start I would suggest keeping damage only as cosmetic, maybe have a trial of realistic/limited damage next week? Either way the multi-player with a larger number of people is utterly fantastic.

We could do that for certain races, like maybe a stock car race on an oval--that'd be quite fun. But for the general racing, I think realistic damage would take away the fun - and the competitiveness.

I was saying to Wrestle and Patters before the last session that when it's possible, I like to win games in ridiculous ways. My example was a cultural victory in Civ IV by having the entire world convert to my polytheist religion and give up their belief in one true god. It can be hard to do this in a racing game, but I do recall that Wrestle was particularly surprised by my claim to have a class C Yaris. Turned out I was mistaken and it was a D, but I can now say that I have achieved this goal. My class C Yaris (PI:424) just won the first round of the year 2 class C world championship more than 45 seconds ahead of the car in second. It's also the first car I've had that I've taken over 200km/h. Yay!

I know not whether to explain this or leave it as an enigma. But I laughed at it none the less.

Long story short, a Yaris is one of the few cars I've actually driven in my life. Rented one to drive to Edmonton a while back. It's a really low-end Toyota hatchback (though surprisingly comfortable) that is one of the few cars that the game will let you have completely for free when starting. It was the first car I got in the game, and I have now upgraded it to the point that it can compete against reasonably good sports cars. Not just compete against, but obliterate. I'm very proud of my little starter Yaris.
