ysbreker Posted April 6, 2005 Well, if I understand the law that the Florida senate recently accepted, there will be some wild west action going on in Florida: ...But the proposed law says that a person who is lawfully in any place has "no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force if he or she reasonably believes it is necessary to do so to prevent death or great bodily harm." One of the democrats commented on this with the following: Ari Porth, a Coral Springs Democrat and Broward County prosecutor. Porth wondered if the law could allow shootings even in grocery stores over trivial disputes with other shoppers."Can I then pop a cap in him," Porth asked, "and then ask for a cleanup on Aisle 3?" full story here
