  1. Of course someone is doing this: http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/theories/flickering-airplane-windows-code/
  2. Today I discovered that I can determine if I should be on the edge of my seat, waiting for someone to have a face motion-blurred off, or be ready to settle back into some comfy Twin Peaks slippers by whether the NowTV pre-show announcer says "this show contains scenes that some viewers may find disturbing" or not. Today, they did not, and this was a nice, comfy slippers episode. Oh, man. The posthumous "Doc" Skype call was a bit of a shock. A shocking number of cast members have died since filming. I also got distracted by Truman's desk, which overshadowed everything else.
  3. E3 2017

The best thing about the Xbox One X is that it abbreviates to XB1X.
  4. I'd been really enjoying this series until this episode. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood for Lynch tonight.
  5. The misogyny has bothered me too, but I'm hoping Lynch is doing this with a purpose and is (quite likely, given that it's David Lynch) just messing with us. Making Agent Preston wear a wire, then immediately sending her away because she's wearing a wire, could very well be a commentary on institutionalised workplace sexism. Particularly when paired with the conversation Cole has with Bryson prior to that scene where he sees Denise very much as an equal. Does Cole treat her differently because she was originally male and because he, on some level, still identifies her as such? I'm interested to see where this goes.
  6. This is interesting. Someone has cut together footage of the Glass Box and Purple Room scenes, across all of the episodes, side by side. http://welcometotwinpeaks.com/theories/glass-box-dale-cooper-naido-footage-synchronized/
  7. Idle Thumbs PS4 Community

I mentioned this in the PlayStation thread, but as that's pretty buried I thought I'd post a new message with all the details. With PS4 System Software v3.0 comes Playstation Communities, and I put one together for Idle Thumbs as there wasn't one already. Here's the fun part: Sony haven't made it possible to search for a community, so there are a couple of ways to find it and join: 1. If you have Grim Fandango Broken Age installed, the game's overview screen will contain a list of associated communities. Idle Thumbs should be listed there. 2. Search for my PSN ID, antikewl, in Friends and view my profile. The Idle Thumb community should be listed there too. Not that's not a competition or anything, the Idle Thumbs community currently has just 10 members. Giant Bomb have 2,474. So, no pressure. Welcome aboard!
  8. Subterfuge

Has anyone checked out Subterfuge for iOS/Android? Looks like a pretty neat collaborative real-time strategy game by the guys that made World of Goo. http://subterfuge-game.com I'm just about to start a game with some folks at work so we'll see how that goes. You can install the Alpha by visiting http://subterfuge-game.com/install.php from your phone.
  9. Idle Thumbs PS4 Community

@Xchen: If you view the Broken Age overview screen (currently free on Plus, if you don't already have it) it should be listed as an associated community. Let me know if it's not there or you're still having trouble.
  10. Idle Thumbs PS4 Community

Algorithms, I guess. If you've joined, feel free to invite all of your friends! We're only about 5,300 members behind Giant Bomb at this point, so… nearly there.
  11. PSN ID exchange

In their infinite wisdom, Sony didn't bother to put a search in. You can find it by opening the Broken Age overview screen, though.
  12. Idle Thumbs PS4 Community

I switched the community's featured video game from Grim Fandango to Broken Age because it's free on Playstation Plus this month so more people are likely to own it.
  13. PL4YST4TION 4

Apparently this was a big complaint from beta testers. I expect it'll be added… eventually. As part of the creation process, you have to choose a video game from the PS4 library that best represents the community. It shows up in the "recommended" feed for that game. So, until there's a PS4 remaster of Far Cry 2, I've set to Grim Fandango. It seemed the most appropriate. So, until we have 1000+ members like Giant Bomb and appear at the top of the recommended list, the easiest way to find it is to install Grim Fandango and check the game's recommended communities. Probably.
  14. PL4YST4TION 4

I couldn't find one, so i just created one. It's called "Idle Thumbs". Sony appear to have not included search, for some reason, so to find it you'll probably need to scroll through hundreds of pages of crap. Enjoy!
  15. Pete aims high. Don looks for an answer. Peggy finds the unexpected.
  16. It definitely wouldn't be the first time. Don came up with "It's Toasted" for Lucky Strike even though they've been using it since before the 20s in the real world.
  17. Yes, this is exactly how I read it. I loved the kind of ambiguousness, but I think the intent was quite clear. So, I guess Don took a trip to Ireland afterwards? http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/I%27d_Like_to_Teach_the_World_to_Sing_(In_Perfect_Harmony) Talking of Don, I also loved that even while embedded in a hippy commune he still had incredibly well pressed shirts.
  18. I come back and everyone has discussed everything already! Just one thing: Sally's ending. For me, this was the saddest end of any of the characters stories. Her final scene is of her as her mother, although I like to think of it as only temporary. I'm no Betty hater, but Sally deserves a better future than that.
  19. Also, yes, I assumed cannibalism.
  20. Where's the new episode thread? I HAVE OPINIONS!
  21. So many good things these past couple of episodes. Good being relative, of course. I really have nothing to add right now. I'm still digesting eight years of plot lines. I wonder if it's possible to re-watch every episode before next weeks' finale…?
  22. I think I'm going to have to watch this episode again.
  23. My initial response was, "I'm sure that was a joke…" BUT… I then thought back to the way she said goodbye to Kevin earlier in the episode from the doorway, after she'd left her apartment, as an afterthought, and it was no longer as clear. Definitely an interesting scene. What a great episode, though!
