  1. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat

It couldn't have come at a better time, since I'm almost done with Shadow of Chernobyl. I've seen some screenshots and it looks gorgeous, GSC Game World should hire those guys.
  2. I never got into Sci-fi as a kid, so I played Knights of the Old Republic before seeing any of the movies and thought it was a fantastic RPG. KOTOR then inspired me to watch the movies. Without any knowledge about Star Wars, I decided that it would be best to start from what I thought was the first movie, Episode I. Let's just say that Episode I, up to this date, is the only Star Wars movie I've seen.
  3. Arcania / Gothic 4

Gothic 4 wasn't that good. JoWood filed for bankruptcy recently so maybe Piranha Bytes will get the rights back to that series.
  4. Life

Other than that one day in Orlando, I spent most of my time in New Orleans and Miami. The latter had a great weather, even on the new years eve.
  5. Life

Just came back today from my two week vacation in the United States and I'm just going to say that travelling in late December is a mess. Flight got delayed for three days and I almost had to spend the christmas day at an airport in Germany. Travel problems aside the trip was great, got to see some family members, spent some time in Miami and visited Disney World. Glad to be back, though. I'm exhausted and I can finally get decent amount of sleep.
  6. With Fallout 1 being one of my favorite games, Arcanum seemed like a game that I would really like. My first impression was great, given that I only played it for 15 minutes. Is that co-op mod any good? I bought Arcanum yesterday along with Stonekeep and am planning to play it with a friend of mine if it's not bad/broken.
  7. Video Games, and why I might be done with them

I'm sorry to hear that. May I ask what was the game that led to your seizure?
  8. Mass Effect 3

There was also that EA executive who claimed that single player gaming is dead, and they are constantly trying to implement multiplayer features in their games.
  9. GOTY.cx 2010

Bioshock 2: I got the same reaction than people did back in 2007 when Bioshock 1 was released. I remember being a little put off by the overly enthusiastic praises that the first one got from the media and people on message boards, and ended up not paying attention to the story whatsoever. With Bioshock 2 I started playing with no expectations or hype and thought it was fantastic. Mount & Blade: Warband: What I love most about Mount & Blade is that it doesn't have any story progression or a main quest. The game opens up and you're free to do whatever you want, wherever you want. It reminds me of Sid Meier's Pirates!, in a medieval setting with more role-playing. Limbo: Even if it does lose some of it's momentum in the second half of the game, it still think it's one of the best games this year due to it's atmosphere, design and style. Honorable mentions: Amnesia: The Dark Descent: This would've been on my GOTY list, but I haven't finished it because something always interrupts me. I was playing it today when suddenly my mouse stops working. Needless to say I need a new mouse. Super Meat Boy: The fact that I've died over 5500 times now and still enjoy the game definitely make's this platforming piece worth mentioning. Minecraft: Minecraft in some ways is one of the most impressive games I've seen in a couple of years. Even if I don't have the imagination or interest to make something, it's still fun to join a multiplayer server and check out what other people have built in this elaborate sandbox.
  10. Recently completed video games

Finished Fallout: New Vegas recently. Unlike Fallout 3, New Vegas actually had good quests, solid voice acting and writing and interesting locations. I rushed the main story and completed the game in 24 hours. I noticed that there was a lot of good stuff that I didn't see and should check it out later. Gameplay is still something I can't stand, it's the reason I did not care for Fallout 3 or Oblivion. Didn't mind it so much in New Vegas until I had to fight tougher enemies, like Deathclaws. I wonder if there's a mod that makes regular weapons more powerful? I'd like to explore wastelands without touching any laser or plasma weapons. I also completed Bioshock 2 and thought it was amazing. I'm now thinking about replaying the first Bioshock, because I didn't "get" it on my first playthrough. Now I'm really looking forward to Minerva's Den. Next up: Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse and Machinarium. Maybe I'll stop being a wuss and finally finish Amnesia: TDD.
  11. Tomb Raider

Rumors have been floating around for some time now, that this Tomb Raider game takes place on a deserted island. It's an open world survival game and looking at the supposedly leaked concept art, instead of carrying a bunch of different weapons and gadgets, Lara is equipped with a torch and a bow. I'm hoping they're making a totally different game. For starters, maybe they'll finally make puzzles that don't involve gears or switches (they won't). Combat is another gripe I've had with the series, it worked on Playstation, but those shooter levels in TR: Underworld showed just how bad and outdated the combat really is. Or maybe they'll go first-person and license the Trespasser cleavage tech.
  12. Insert Appropriate Title

    _yThfdrdFL8 E: Yeah, she's awful.
  13. It's nearly Christmas...

I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but Huge Naked Man sounds like a great movie. It even has an astonishing 2.5/10 on imdb
  14. Metro 2033?

It's more demanding than Crysis, so you'll have to stick with those lower settings unless you have a DX11 or a high-end DX10 graphics card.
