  1. Do you mean which platform? If so, I made you a quick straw poll.
  2. Movie/TV recommendations

I must admit to finding Jean Grey's accent intensely distracting, and also wondering why they decided to write her as such a weird bitchy character. What the hell was that first scene in which she meets Cyclops about? She's just overtly rude for absolutely no reason. Is that part of Jean Grey's character and I just don't know enough about X-Men to understand?
  3. Total Warhammer

Actually most places are listing Greenskins as the hardest campaign due to how fightiness works! Dwarves are supposedly the easiest to get to grips with as a new player because their units are very solid and require little micromanagement.
  4. How do you actually mute people? I had a couple of games recently in which people were spamming callouts ("Protect the payload!") and had no idea how to stop it.
  5. My playstyle is pretty mercenary. I just do a daily quest each day, win a tavern brawl each week and play arena whenever it coincides with quests. When not playing arena I do play ranked, but it's not in a concerted effort to gain ranks, it's just so that whatever rank I do achieve as a side effect gives me extra rewards as well.
  6. Crusader K+ngs II

I started a game as the Duke of Bavaria and am feeling pretty stifled. My ambition has been to gain a new title, but the Kaiser has no interest in giving me one and my Chancellor is utterly failing to fabricate any claims. So I'm just sitting here while my rowdy vassals continuously plot to increase council power and have a weirdly high rate of heresy to boot.
  7. Also am I the only one that thinks that trailer has really oddly low production values? It's not unlike that Heroes reboot they tried, in which the trailers looked like fan films.
  8. I'm right there with you on the duty to help thing, twmac. Something about that forlorn place breeds a certain fellowship - I really enjoyed being a Sunbro, in the first Dark Souls especially. I was never a Blue Sentinel like you, but I definitely did my best to defend my hosts against red phantoms. I think the area I've hired out as a phantom most in is Anor Londo. I have mourned far too many hosts at those damn knight archers.
  9. Uncharted (4 and The Nathan Drake Collection)

Yeah, it seems like Naughty Dog might have learned how to do quiet moments a little better from the Last of Us. I'm thinking of the chapter in the house here - I thought it was quite well done.
  10. Uncharted (4 and The Nathan Drake Collection)

Well that's when it's released. Some lucky people have just been picking up physical versions early.
  11. General Video Game Deals Thread

I really enjoyed the shop running part of Recettear and really didn't enjoy the dungeon crawling part. For a brief, shining moment my friend and I effectively co-oped the game along that divide, but that's the only time I made any progress.
  12. I'm an active player so obviously I'll be around. I just read the breakdown of the nerfs on PC Gamer, and it's definitely a mix of "oh, yeah, that had to happen" and "uh, what?". Not that I think I know better than Blizzard, I think I just sometimes have different ideas about what's fun. Blizzard seems to be terrified of charge minions at this point, most thoroughly exemplified by their nerfing of Arcane Golem into the ground. As the article says, they effectively deleted the card from the game.

Spectre really bothered me with that last one. I really don't think Bond films, of all things, need all that forced interconnectedness.
  14. I'm not sure what it is about Overwatch that isn't quite clicking with me. I've played it a few times over a couple of beta phases, and I've enjoyed my time with it. But then when I'm done... I feel absolutely no need to come back. It's sitting installed on my computer, but I really have no particular desire to load it up. Maybe I just got enough TF2 from TF2, but there is definitely something missing for me.
  15. There's one in the rafters above Firelink. Can't really remember any others off the top of my head. You don't even get messages without PS+? That's annoying.
  16. I'm definitely either finding that Black Knight harder than his colleagues in Dark Souls, or it's just been long enough that I forgot they were always hardcore. Vitality is the one that improves carry weight - I like wearing relatively heavy armour but fat rolling is even more of a liability in this than it has been in the previous Souls games, so I actually have Vitality up at like 30 while all my other skills are currently <20. I'm now trying to jack my dexterity in order to use a spear made from a boss soul that recovers HP after killing enemies. The idea of infinite vampiric sustain appeals to me.
  17. Dunno. The only thing I know for sure you can do with boss souls is make certain weapons. For that you need an item from a particular (technically optional) boss and to talk to someone at Firelink Shrine.
  18. My experience with that is that it happens when I first go to the shrine or rest at the bonfire, but then if I wait near the fog wall it'll eventually clear and I can go outside.
  19. Also, who is getting DS3 for the PC? I have a tendency to enjoy jumping in these games with others.
  20. I'm actually going to be a playtester for that board game. Hopefully it won't be too gruelling.
  21. Fantasy Finale XV

Yeah what was that about? That was actually somehow more obnoxious than the usual tiny stupid JRPG character. I definitely didn't enjoy the demo either, though it was funny that they put in weather and time of day changes to show off the engine. In principle, I don't have a problem with that, but the game honestly didn't particularly impress me visually. The bizarre flat-photo-looking environments in particular were terrible. In a weird way, I'm actually relieved. If I was instantly in love with the game it would have made the next six months really annoying! I'm not necessarily writing the entire game off right now, but that demo sure as hell didn't do it any favours.
  22. Fantasy Finale XV

On the one hand, I'd quite like to play the demo. On the other, I don't really want to get hyped for a game that's not out for another six months.
  23. So Google DeepMind's AlphaGo program is playing the #2 ranked Go player Lee Sedol in a few hours. You can if you're so inclined. If it beats him, there's theoretically only one person in the world who it might not be able to beat.
  24. XCOM 2

Some others feel the same - Accurate Swords mod.
  25. The Next President

Boy, I hope you're right. I'm pretty freaked over the UK's current rumblings towards abandoning the EU. There are too many people with viewpoints too shaped by tabloid ranting about EU regulations messing with the shape of bananas and other nonsense. Sometimes the moderate masses aren't as moderate as you expect them to be.
