I have temporarily stolen a PS4 and been playing the Destiny demo. Does anyone actually know in what way the demo is limited? I think I still can be involved in multiplayer, so if anyone wants to do some early stuff with me, hit me up! My PSN name should be Gwardinen.

Bloodborne (Dark Souls 2 successor (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)))
Gwardinen replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
So I stole my brother's PS4 for a week and I've been playing this. It's an interesting twist on the Souls formula! I would definitely be interested in playing it with some Thumbs, though I'd need more EU friendly times. -
Had never heard of that before. Just did it in Notepad to see whether I could remember how to code at all. For some reason part of my brain forgot about for loops, and so I used a less efficient while loop, but it seems some programming has stuck with me and my little program would indeed FizzBuzz accurately. I wish I had time/reason to actually code regularly again.

I was originally clearing all the ?s I could but I've since stopped doing that because, as Azniac said, you end up overlevelled. Also clearing bandit camps is just not as interesting as doing actual quests. For the most part now I just go towards whichever quest is lowest level, whether it be main, side or contract. If I happen upon ?s in the course of travelling between quest objectives, then so be it. The only downside to this is that I'm probably missing out on Places of Power.

I watched it, and we had a big sign with a bunch of drinking rules on too. Feel free to steal for next year:

Alternative mode?! I hope that's something you get at a certain point rather than something I've had all along and not noticed, because then I would feel silly.

I really badly want a Monsters deck for Gwent. At the moment I don't have enough of anything but Northern Realms to field a deck, sadly.

Very much +1 this. Been years since I saw it but I enjoyed it immensely. She definitely had a lot to do with it, but wasn't she the producer, not director? I believe the director was Patrice Désilets, hence people's continuing fascination with him and his relationship with Ubisoft. If you'll take artist for a comic, Fiona Staples is the artist on Saga, which is a fascinating and beautiful series. The series itself is very infused with feminine perspectives as well.

Yes you can, and indeed that's the only time I do. It doesn't show an icon when you do it because their health bar is at the top of the screen, but it still seems to move the camera to keep an eye on them. That said some bosses are tricksy and slip from view in various ways.

Do You Have a Preferred Perspective for Games?
Gwardinen replied to Architecture's topic in Video Gaming
What is To Be? Also you might like the selection from Choice of Games. They're on iOS and (I think) Android, and some are on Steam - you can even often play the first chapter or so for free in your browser.. They're basically just choose your own adventure games but some of them are genuinely pretty well written. The Heroes Rise series is seen as kind of their shining star, I believe. -

I haven't listened to it yet, but I have to say the Giant Beastcast artwork is killer.- 1367 replies

Official Giant Bomb Thread Mostly for Complaining About Dan

I have genuinely kept the game on my hard drive for at least six months now solely to remind myself that I want to play the DLC. I just never actually get around to it.- 1367 replies

Is that not Waluigi?

This was definitely the moment in the film when I came around to Patrick R's thinking that the CG ruined the stunts. MOST of them were still very good but that one in particular was just egregiously terrible in terms of CGI additions, and it ruined the emotional impact of the character's sacrifice because I was thrown completely out of my suspension of disbelief.

Yeah, the intro movie is kinda dodgy in terms of framerate. If you experience trouble with cutscenes in general, you can go into the bin\config\base folder within the game folder and open visuals.ini, then change MovieFramerate to 60. Apparently that can cause problems with performance for some people though, unless they disable the ubersampling setting below.

Really? I'm on a 970 too and have things spread between medium and high, and I'm still getting these fairly regular drops of 5-10FPS for a second or so when moving around in the world. I'm not sure whether it's a streaming issue or what. The actual stable framerate is good, but then like I said I get these brief sudden drops for no reason.

Actually it seems to be a slightly weirder system that only requires you to be online once a day or once a computer restart, I'm not sure which. This comes from me having no internet last month and playing the game by connecting to my phone's internet once in the morning.

Yes. One of the main locations is populated almost entirely by African and Middle Eastern actors and much of the filming was done in Morocco.Which isn't to say there aren't problems with GoT or even that specific part of it, which has some uncomfortable white woman bringing civilisation to the savages overtones. But simply for the record; yes, Game of Thrones includes PoC, so no, it cannot entirely be lumped in with the many fantasy properties that only depict feudal England analogues.

Assassins Creed: Syndicate - knees up mother brown
Gwardinen replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
I know this post is months old, but I only just saw it and I couldn't agree more. If I could get an "essentials cut" of Assassin's Creed games I would adore them. I love running around in weird historical settings! I also enjoy the assassinations and the combat briefly. But that's the thing, briefly. I always get tired of the game long before it has finished throwing mostly irrelevant crap to do at me. If I could play a pared down version with good pacing I would be way into it. Good example in a somewhat related game: Shadow of Mordor. I think that game ended almost exactly at the point at which I didn't want to play much more of it anyway. It was great.- 76 replies

Let's just secede from the fucking union already. I am totally ok with a Game of Thrones style northern revolt. KING IN THE NORTH!

Yeah I kept meaning to grab Lu and get back on board with this, but now I guess I'll wait on the Enhanced Edition. They're doing a lot of stuff for it that looks pretty cool.

Finally finished watching Battlestar Galactica. I feel a little split on the last episode, and frankly the last season in general. I feel like the character endings were fairly satisfying, but the plot endings weren't. Still, I'm glad I finally came back and watched the last season. It was surprising to me how much I enjoyed it again, given I stopped watching at season four because of a deep tiredness with the show. I still feel like I like that show best when it's the first couple of seasons and everything is screwed and they're constantly on the run and trying to figure things out. The tension between day-to-day practicalities/survival and their attempts at keeping their culture and ethics intact was always the solid core of the show, I think, and even persists somewhat in the later seasons. If the writing of the last season or two felt a bit meandering and fluffy on a plot level, it was still pretty good on a scene level and the acting and built up characterisation held the whole thing together. Overall, BSG is still a great show and I thoroughly recommend it.

Sadly I bought a new card a few months ago and got nothing with it.
