Having finished my education a few years ago, and the one college campus in town being relatively isolated, I don't care! It does go a long way to prove the idiocy of people here, though.

I completely forgot, as I was wallowing in pain and movies all day. I should be around for some weekday play.

While I'd be happy to do other settings, they'd have to be things I've done personally and with a tactile sense of how things work. I have yet to play Gamma World directly, so I'd have to pass on that. I'm very inclined to do Forgotten Realms, Gwar, but I'm open for other things. I'll start writing a session for FR and if people decide otherwise I can just modify things. It'll probably start somewhere in the mid-western reaches that I imagine most of you are familiar with. Tethyr maybe. Never done a campaign in that area. If anyone has any suggestions for locales/campaign settings, let me know, and if I've played it, I'd be happy to DM it.

Everyone back slowly away from Snooglebum.

Ye Gods, Steam voice chat is an absolute monstrosity.

2 four-man parties would probably be optimal. Thanks for digging up those tools Gwardinen. I have a way to get Fantasy Grounds, but all things considered, it isn't strictly. . .well, paying for it. It's a bit pricy for what it does, to be honest, but we used a 'fixed' version last I did this sort of thing. If I'm going to DM, I need to start writing and designing monsters, so we need to start deciding on a couple things. 1. Parties. If we're doing 2of4, you folks need to get together and decide who you'd want as a DM, and who you want in the party. 2. Setting. I would assume, if we're doing 4.0, that we'll be on Faerun. Which means; - Forgotten Realms - Ebberon (yech) - Greyhawk or - Ravenloft. We could do Planescape, but I'd have to do a lot of tweaking for 4.0. 3. Characters! Start designing them. I can get you a PDF of the 4.0 Players Handbook if needed. So discuss amongst yourselves and let me and Hermie know (and OssK? Or are you playing?) and we'll get writing.

I love Australian news.

Your woman choice was poor! Maybe something less crazy but still awesome?

I'd like to expand that to "Fuck all Final Fantasies." * Ducks under a table*

Longest stayed up? Hmmm, I couldn't say what the hour was, but I was starting to have auditory hallucinations, so probably a while! Late 40s? I do remember clearly when I was much younger, staying up alllllll night to read The Hobbit for the first time. That was fun. Oh crap, I missed monkey's comment! Congratulations!

@ Baldur's Gate discussion; As Dan mentioned, if you have BG and BG2 installed, you can basically cause BG to run on the BG2 engine. There's also a pretty damn recommended Widescreen Mod. I'm at some ridiculous number of playthroughs of Baldur's Gate 2 in my life (I stopped counting at 60 something) and I think I've just about had my fill. But I mean, that's after, just guessing here, 1,500+ hours. As for games I've just said "Fuck you, goodbye" to. . . I think basically every platforming game I've ever played.

Because I am a horrible person (read: 3.5 purist), my entire knowledge of D&D4 comes from the Penny Arcade/PVP/Wil Wheaton podcasts. That said, I can find/pick up a 4.0 book relatively easily and learn. There are a few free tools out there for battlegrid/play field representation, and most of them come with dice rollers. Skype for the actual roleplaying bits would be fine. If it comes down to me and Hermie doing it, I can assemble the needed tools in this thread or another and maybe have a session or two ready in a week?

I'm afraid we'll probably never get the "harmless-crazy" Beck back.

Chris Perkins! My favorite D&D related man in the universe. Awesome, watching those soon.

As much as I want to spit in his eye, that was really well done. (The video, not the "WE ALL GON DIE")
