  1. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

I already know that it basically ends with so I think even without having finished it, I'm good to go.
  2. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

2 hours to go! In the interest of making my experience of AC:B as rounded as possible, I'm rushing through the main story of 2. Probably won't finish (just finished the Carnavale games) but I might, considering the install time.
  3. Duke Nukem Forever Canned [and then not]

    Annnnnnd, interested removed.
  4. Save My Sanity

So, playing Darksiders has finally made me want to put an end to this question, considering how many cutscenes there are. For years now (quite literally) I've had an issue where what I assume is a certain video codec cause my videos, however rendered, to run perfectly smooth graphically, but have two sound issues. One, the sound plays far, far faster than the video happens. Leaving me lines, if not paragraphs ahead of a video, with no sound for a good third of it, or more. This even happened with C&C 3, which seems odd because of the FMV. It's not that the sound is going so fast it's intelligible. It's perfectly even and you can understand every word. That part of it just blows my mind. Two, it stutters horribly. It's like listening to a particularly energetic William Shatner. It never fully cuts out, but it constantly chops, with a very precise, every other second or so rhythm. Constantly. Even after the sound from the video is long gone, my speakers just pop like that until the video ends. This doesn't happen in nearly every game, and even in games where my system is more than well above the requirements. It seems to come along every few years, one game, maybe two. I believe Overlord, C&C 3, Sacred 2 and Darksiders are the primary offenders, but it happens from time to time. Any ideas? Marginally-related side observation for those who have played Darksiders; Is The Watcher voiced by Mark Hamil or have I lost my touch at identifying voices?
  5. Save My Sanity

TP, I updated what I was able to, so hopefully, I have the latest. I seem to remember HIDs messing with Kane & Lynch 1 and another game in the past, I had forgotten about that. Definitely something to try, thanks. I have never been good at platforming, so it's just something I tend to avoid (part of the reason I've not properly played Trine, for instance) things with it, but Darksiders was a gift, so I'm giving it a go.
  6. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

You have now made amends for you fantastically disturbing avatar. Good stuff!
  7. Save My Sanity

No dice on the new headset. I'd be enjoying it a lot more if: A. I could watch the cutscenes properly. B. I had ever played a brawler at all before in my life. (I've played maybe 5 minutes of DMC3, max.) C. There was no platforming. Once I figured out that minibosses were simply "Avoid until they laugh, or do something stupid" it's been pretty much pie from there. But the platforming is not something I have ever been able to do well (my split-second timing is poor) so I could be enjoying it a lot more. But still, not a bad game. Just wish I knew what was going on.
  8. Save My Sanity

So if I read this correctly, it's running sound functions off my little headset in-board, instead of the perfectly functional Realtek audio card in there. Anyone know a way around this that won't prevent my headset from simply not working? Edit: Simply went out and got a jack headset instead of a USB. We'll see if that fixes it.
  9. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I just spent a good minute of my life goose-stepping around in an insomniatic (probably not a word!) haze to this, because I'm waiting for GTA 4 to install to see if I'm wrong about the whole thing. Derp! 3zGwKoHNl8k
  10. Game of Thrones (TV show)

I don't know how many hours I've burned to a mental crisp discussing the casting of HBO's GoT, but it must be somewhere in the range of self-malfeasance, because I've gone over it backwards and forwards and the only person I can honestly say I don't think is good for the part is. . . Emilia Clarke as Daenerys, simply because I have no damn idea who she is. Otherwise, I think GoT is going to be the first mini-series I've bought on DVD in a very, very long time. I believe since Children of Dune, I've had all the mini-series I want gifted to me. We'll see!
  11. Happy Birthday!

Thanks! Now I have to stop being such a jerk and remember this thread exists.
  12. The threat of Big Dog

The counter-part to FUCK ME IT'S ALIVE. eZlLNVmaPbM
  13. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

What the fuck to both portions of your post, Kingz. Both of those things are monumentally disconcerting.
  14. Dino D-Day

Shows up at 20 USD, 18 for a pre-order. Anyone still in for this, or shall I spend loot elsewhere? Just something to think about: The raptor classes grenade? Goats. Then again, maybe not. . . _0MMFW56c4k
  15. Dreams!

I had a dream recently in which it began as my parents talking to some sort of collegiate acceptance board and I was 18 again or what have you. I was accepted (this was a while back so I don't remember huge specifics) and was suddenly in a helicopter on the way to a giant skyscraper that I'm pretty sure isn't actually in El Paso. Upon entry to the building, my parents left me to the care of the headmaster, who took me down into the bowels of the place in which there were subway tunnels. These subways tunnels led to a large underground school, in which I was suddenly informed I was (Harry Potter) a warlock, and shown how to do magic. Inexplicably, magic was a force of will, emulated by making a fist and only extending the middle knuckle of your middle finger. Years passed very quickly at this point, and I hit a few major points in my years at wherever the fuck this was. Two events that stood out: Set in some kind of concave auditorium, magical battles were waged between students. If you've read R. A. Salvatore's Drizzt Do'Urden stuff, during his earlier years there was a giant maze in the underdark where warrior students fought in mock combat every year, leaving a single victor. This was basically that. The end result of some very hectic nonsense was the victor(s), a pair of white-haired female twins asking me out. What? Again, it was a while ago, so my memories are vague, but I'm fairly certain I was rather shy and quiet about the whole ordeal. I apparently had some sort of creepy uncle, who was trying to turn me to "the dark side of magic" which, I mean really, fuck you subconscious, could you be more cliche? The end result of which was him cornering me after a proving bout and giving me a ring which allowed me to. . .wake up when the phone went off. I really wanted to continue that damn dream. Weird shit.
  16. Non-video games

That sounds fantastically weird. Must try.
  17. Looks awful freakin' missing to me.
  18. Atom Zombie Smasher

I hear tell it has co-op?
  19. School Shooter: North American Tour 2012

. . .What? The fuck? Trololololo?
  20. Batman: Arkham City

Apparently I have weird taste. So be it! The more I watch the trailer, the more I want this game. #mightbeacrazyperson Also! I assume you mean Harley Quinn, because I think a night of lovin' with Two-Face would scar you for life. (Har har.)
  21. Batman: Arkham City

Whelp, consider me sold. I saw an article (RPS, maybe?) that said it was only going to be about seven hours, but there's an excellent chance that that's just if you bum-rush the storyline. Wonder what that music is, sort of helped sell me. . .
  22. V The Elder Scrolls

There is weather in Oblivion, yeah. Not a lot of it, or of great quality, but it's there. There are a few spectacular mods that make weather a real treat, though. Here's hoping for nice, STALKER:COP-like lighting storms, for Skyrim.
  23. FOX News Says Bulletstorm Causes Rape Also we don't seem to have a proper thread for this monstrosity (that actually seems like a better DN:F) so what better way to start one.
  24. V The Elder Scrolls

Kill you. That said, woooooooooooooo Skyrim might not be a generic, overly green pile of fail! Might. Hope.
  25. Thumb War: Shogun 2

Archery! If any of you object, I'll stick a shaft in y-. . .nevermind, threat rescinded. My vote is Archery. Edit: Thoroughly kicked in the face during my first battle. As I've never done any TW MP (competitive or otherwise) I played like I was against Rome Hard AI. I was demolished for a foolish decision during my second sortie against his calvary. C'est la vie! I can see this sucking up a lot of my time.
