It never does. It is, at best, a mild smirking moment or two. I don't get how people are losing their shit over this show. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

No it's fucking not. It's not anything fucking special. I don't know why people are so fucking enthralled by this godsdamned show but it drives me fucking insane. (Fucking.)

I think it's worth mentioning (though I hesitate to continue harping on it) that I don't like the gunplay in most FPS. Most are adequate to get me to focus on shooting men, and not that my gun sounds/handles/floats like a Tonka Toy. I maintain that the Half-Life 2 weaponry is one of the biggest offenders I've run across however. For reference, the games I've felt have done weaponry correctly; - Homefront (some exceptions apply) - Call of Duty 2 - Ghost Recon, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter - Rainbow Six Vegas (1) - Battlefield Bad Company 2 (only some things. primary stand-outs are sniper rifles and SMGs.) - Killing Floor (pistol only) As you can see, I am one picky motherfucker. As for the sound of weaponry, don't get me started. But, I agree that the fight in the canals had astounding acoustics. As for the perfect FPS game sound, see BFBC2s War Tapes sound mode.

I'm making strangling motions at my monitor, 'blix. I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to run this, and that saddens me greatly. We'll see how it goes.

Wooden platforms act as ladders/stairs, but we don't have proper ones.

Molten Armor is the best defensive armor in the game (though recently nerfed.) Meaning Cobalt and Molten are the "end game" armor. End game weapons include: - Phoenix Blaster (made from a Handgun [Found in the Dungeon] and molten bars) - Sunfury (a flail dropped by Bone Serpents) - The Starcannon (You can buy a minishark at the Arms Dealer for 50 gold and upgrade it into the most damaging weapon in the game with meteor bars. Fires stars.) You already have the boomerang. You should probably make an Ivy Whip. There's an underground Jungle somewhere in your world. It's underground, as said, and it's only part of the map, it isn't an entire layer. If you kill Man-Eaters, they drop vines, and hornets and the grass drop Jungle Roses. These upgrade your grappling hook into DOCTOR OCTOPUS MODE, allowing you to shoot three grapples at once and position yourself mid-air. It's not necessary, and a bit of a grind, but a thought. But that really does wrap it up. Now it's build and wait for content, or just shelve it for a bit and wait for content. They've added a bunch of new mobs and items (vanity items for instance) in the past week or so, so it seems they'll be putting out content for a while.

If you haven't done the Dungeon, you may want to consider it. A there-by negating most lava-based deaths. And Imp projectiles can be batted away, so just face the largest group of Imps and mine away. Try to find a pocket of hellstone that goes into a nice rock island in the lava, so you can just dig down and around inside the mountain of ash without having to worry. You will die! But it takes a lot longer this way. Finally, you need obsidian to craft hellstone bars (6 hellstone, 2 obsidian to a bar) there are a number of ways to farm obsidian but it's pretty heavily dependant on your locale. I broke through into hell from the jungle, which meant I could really easily flood it with water from the jungle. YMMV.

I also hear it's rather shit.

I didn't say. But it was Ocarina, which I'm now currently 9 hours into on an emulator. I'm not really sure how I feel about it yet.

"He also hinted Far Cry 3 might be more of a cerebral experience than gamers who spent FC2 burning everything might expect."

Law of the damned universe. . . It's now 20 dollars (and presumably euros) for the weekend. *Sigh*

Don't you dare profane RCT.

Also a lie! The story (paraphrased) was that he started the round-table immediately by saying "Don't ask me about Pikmin." He then humbly thanked everyone for not asking about Pikmin (presumably at the end) and said "And Pikmin is coming to Wii U". The Bombcast should be up in audio form by mid-afternoon, I imagine.

The Giantbomb Day 01 Livestream (that went for something like 5 hours D: ) said that at the Nintendo roundtable, Pikmin for Wii U was confirmed by the man himself.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/06/08/dragoning-on-fourteen-minutes-of-skyrim/#more-61642 14 minute of gameplay. PCG Headline: Skyrim's main quest 30 hours long. Additional content "two to three hundred" more. It's been nice knowing you all. Thoughts post-watching: Were I a less cultured gentlemen, I might express my desire to divulge buckets of something from myself. So someone said that the dude maybe half-way into the video getting cut in the throat didn't react at all, and yeah, I see that. But I also see how the draugur stumble back and into the wall when they get hit hard enough, leaning there for a second. And I see how the wolves reel sideways and tumble. So I'm cautiously optimistic on the "shit you hit with weapons responds" front. Second thing. If that's on the Xbox, holy mother of gods, that's pretty as hell already, I can't imagine what full view distance, AA and the like will do to it. Finally, dragons, cool as shit. I can go sleep happily now.

I have. . .damn, I dunno, maybe 5 hours of Mario, 4 or 5 of Zelda? It's why I'm willing to be wrong about it, and why I'm thinking about playing them through emulation. I've never considered Zelda a mechanics game, and always an RPG. I can see where you're coming from having played a lot of roguelikes in recent days, so I'm going to give them a shot, but I make no promises. (4/5 hours is probably going to get me a fair bit of mockery, but I've dismissed games considerably faster if they annoy/piss me off.)
-
No, no, no need for that. You just seem to spark disagreements, but I may be reading into that from the wrong angle. (And damn, that sounds like I'm trying to start something, and it's not. I can't think of a better way to phrase it.) I may consider, at some point in the future, maybe this year, emulating a few Zelda games and having my way with them. It might be interesting to go back with a bit of hindsight and extended knowledge. That said, my points two posts (of mine) ago remain.

Yes, it's incredibly excessive hyperbole to say they're "just releasing Zelda again and again" but you cannot tell me it hasn't been done on every new Nintendo system just so they can say "we have a game, give us money!" I have my skepticism about the Wii U and will keep it until everything isn't just tech demos. There's no real way to explain how I feel about that. And Murdoc, thank the gods, I thought I was going insane. "Zelda has a rich, complex world that changes with every game!"
