Just start with Christopher Eccleston. They're pretty well self-contained.

While the combat of Lugaru and Overgrowth is intuitive, it is by no means easy. I was stuck on the Lugaru mission that pits you against 3 wolves for a solid week.

I literally just finished it and came here to post mostly the same thing. It felt sort of artsy, which I'm sure they were going for. There are couple problems that I had with it, but overall I was pleasantly surprised by it. Definitely worth a watch.
