I've gotten a lot of play out of World of Tanks, and if that happens in the MechWarrior universe, I would be incredibly happy.

Happy Birthday, Not Playing Video Games!

I think you're just mad that these fellows have achieved more than you ever will in Minecraft. *Folds arms*

Funnily enough on that note, I just purchased the hardcover Skyrim strategy guide from Amazon, because one, I love having my coffee table stacked high with hardcover game goodies, and two, the Morrowind guide is the funniest strategy guide I've ever read and I love that thing to death.

Welp, everything I have ever done is meaningless in the face of such genius.

I just finished Fallout 3. I played through the main quest when it came out, and was obviously dismayed at the ending being literal. Unfortunately, about the time Mothership Zeta came out, my original GFWL account got banned for being hacked, losing my original FO3 saves. So I picked up the GOTY version a while back, but didn't get very far into it, I just couldn't muster the want to play it again. Then someone on SA mentioned that, well, unarmed is a little overpowered. By which I mean, it one-shots a lot of things. Mix this with 10 Endurance, and either of the armors from Operation Anchorage (one being the second best Power Armor in the game, the other giving you a permanent Stealth Boy) and you're basically good to go. I was level 14 from doing the DLC before I even began the main quest (wooo, level scaling!) and sped through the Main Quest. I used the console command to unlock all map markers after I finished Broken Steel and visited the seven or so places I hadn't yet seen extensively. I really enjoyed it, to be honest. I kind of wish I had waited to play it the first time until all the DLC was out, but it'll still be one of the better RPGs I've ever played. Off to see if I can beat New Vegas' main quest with unarmed before Skyrim comes out.

I'm not really one of those, but it's amusing to rile up the console peasants. I'd own an XBox if there was really anything I had to play on it. I own the PS3 because of Demon's Souls. It's really just a matter of time, at this point, since games are piling up on the XBox side of things that are quite interesting.
-
So I hear that the BF3 console versions have a separate disk for the textures. I'll be platform elitist all I like, thanks. What I don't get is arguments between PS3 and XBox. They're both inferior.

Watch out for the roaming Hobo Militia!

I've decided not to cancel my pre-order of this as I'm upgrading my computer in the next couple of weeks, so I'll be up for some BF3 PC in a few weeks. You know, once I can finally escape the clutches of Skyrim for a couple hours.

You should dress up as Napoleon and infuriate southerners.

Oh well naturally. But it peaked my interest a lot more than the infinite circle jerk of One Man Vs Alien Hordes did for 2 and 3. The Halo universe has never been particularly interesting to me, but ODST, again, caught my eye. I'll still probably never play it, since I'll probably never own a 360, but hey, it's nice that they veered away for a short while.
-
I will say that the Halo ODST trailer, even in only the funerary portion, made me more interested in Halo than I had been since the first one. Still haven't played it, but it grabbed my interest. I also actually liked Lineage (the ACII short film), but I seem to be rather alone in that camp. On the note of Blur studios, they're probably responsible for more video game hype then the companies themselves in the last couple of years. I'll point you to the SW:TOR trailers as proof of that. I don't hate live-action stuff, provided it's done well. The Skyrim trailer that released today is pretty decent since it doesn't try to do anything overly complex.

Having been 14 when the first book was released in the US, I'm just kind of happy to be done with the whole thing. I didn't viciously hate any of the movies (6 was rather shit for a number of reasons, not least simply axing the fight in the last couple of chapters) and I always liked the books. It'll always be a thing I sort of fondly remember, but it's been 13 years and finally I can say I never have to watch/read Harry Potter again.

One Mans Journey Through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows; (This kind of got away from me somewhere. . .I'd be happy to remove it if anyone objects.) FAIR WARNING: SPOILERTH Part 1 Hermione Granger, actually more dangerous than most of the main cast put together. Why am I watching this again? No, I won't shed a single indian tear for your stupid CGI gnome-elf. Part 2 WHY IS THERE A WIZARD GESTAPO?! Oh cool, that offhand mention of a dragon in Gringots was brought back. A whole hour of crazy wizard fight? That you probably skimped on the VFX budget of the last three films for? Okay, you're forgiven the two-parter. Oh no, freaky, screaming, angry ghost. Fuck off. I'm kind of saddened by the fact that the Room of Requirement has gone from "magically appearing bathroom" to "magical shit storage". Wait. . . Really? This kid, 18 years old, most important good guy in the magical world, not only gets to go fight the biggest bad guy of the magical world, he also has to deal with his childhood nemesis before hand. What's the plural of nemesis, nemesi? And he saves him. Christ, I need to reread book 7 again, I don't remember any of this shit. It's nice to actually see a wizards war. They're talked about all the time in backstories for video games this, and worlds that. Never get to see one with the force of a multi-million dollar VFX budget behind it. Oh yes, Voldemort (stupid godsdamned name, always has been) is degenerating because his soul is being destroyed. Star Trek Nemesis (ah-ha!) did it first! It wasn't a good movie, but you fucking cribbed it! How subtle. YOU'VE PLAYED DIRECTLY INTO MY TRAP! HANS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Well shit, I actually liked Snape. Though I imagine you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who didn't. Casualty list: Remus?! Shit! The unfunny twin Still not remembering any of this. Right, right, right, you've been lying all along, both must die. Wrap up the sequence. Poignant. Wizard battle, ENGAGE! Proof positive: Nukes are magic. No. . .no, you're not actually going to do this, are you? Oh (pardon my French) Jesus fucking Christ. Alright Gandalf, lets get this over with. "On." Alright, I know Rowling isn't that deep. Who wrote this screenplay? Oh, apparently the same guy who wrote the rest of them. Well done Steve. Bad guy is an enormous asshole. Check. I love the choreography of these movies. Are you angry? Do you have a wand? Imagine you're in the worlds most overrought free-throw competition. Or you're a really enthusiastic nazi with cerebral palsy. This is more like it! I never did understand why the Death Eater flying fog trick destroys shit so well. Holy shit Molly. Doting housewife no more. Complimentary murder-rounds for everybody! Oh, now we do the wizard battle. Fine. I don't even care anymore. Jeeze, what is this rated? Was Hogwarts always on a giant rock? Oh right, she actually wrote this part. The beard. Oh gods the beard. 8.5/10. Either way, I didn't hate it.

Like I said, I'm a terrible bloody hypocrite. At this point, I'm just keeping up with the WoW expansions for my eventual descent into madness in which I actually feel like playing WoW again. Still not going to put money on TOR, mind you. Oh also. "Blizzard's creative abilities"? You mean the 10% of their "lore" that isn't outright stolen from somewhere else? That has only just grown from 1% to 10% in the last couple of years?

Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server
Orv replied to MrHoatzin's topic in Multiplayer Networking
I felt like shit last night, so that was a terrible post. Let me clarify. I like building giant projects. (In between the monotonous parts.) Doing things like those Star Destroyers, or the winter wonderland (once I get back to it, been busy) would be completely impossible without creative. Or at least, would take an even larger amount of time then they already do. Basically what I'm saying is I love the idea, Kingz, but I wouldn't get much use out of it. -

I'm desperately sorry you don't get anything out of creative, but I will not be building anything bigger than a hut if we go back. -
I've lost all interest in this. I don't really want to pay 15 a month to play KOTOR 3 with akwardly tacked on multiplayer. Which might be hypocritical, since WoW is yet again drawing my interest with a new expansion. Pandas!

That's. . .wow. That's. . .I love it, and yet, it terrifies me.

So, in a fit of pique, I've gone and reinstalled Command and Conquer Generals. Simple question: Would anyone be interested in playing any of the various C&C games? Co-op Vs AI, FFA, whatever. Any of them.

But something touched me deep inside, The day vidgms died. E: Do you like Indian Jones? Do you like Minecraft? Are the answer to either of those no? Who cares, watch this absolutely astonishingly awesome thing anyway. http://vimeo.com/27854932
