But my Jenner needs to be hot pink! E: Idly musing over some MechWarrior: Living Legends matches, I decided to go digging for some old Battletech novels of mine. I found them, and then realized that Michael A. Stackpole pretty much owns that universe. Not sure how I feel about that, but I'm going to give reading them a shot.

You can do the "campaign" in four player coop. Or you can download the thousands of missions made by the community and do them with up to 124 players. -

So what's the final word? Do I get to misjudge my release and drop a JDAM on you guys? -
Too lenient.

Actually, they've been talking (I'm admittedly not up on BattleTech lore like I'd like) like the Clan Invasion will start near the end of this year. That said, after the GDC stuff, I'm all over this. It looks like it could be incredible.

Yeah, the first time I picked up the flag by accident and the music kicked in I went "Woah, time to do shit!" and that feeling hasn't gone away when I hear the cap music. It's really well done. Here's the entire thing since you typically have the flag for something like 15 seconds on a good run. 6Wrxco5goLI There in fact are several flag songs, but they're all relatively similar.

Really enjoying HoF in T:A. Finally got my Doombringer full kitted out with max Super Heavy and Safety Third and it's just Flag Defender medals from breakfast to bodyparts. Sort of a throwback note, I was playing a little Tribes Next last week just to do some comparing, and I remember how much I loved the T2 music. Probably my favorite game soundtrack ever, maybe tying with Descent. nKPNSErp1m0 1nTJQxkcz54&

Well, to expand on the physics; The jetpack will never add thrust over 72kph. If you're going over that, it will only continue to counter-act gravity. Unfortunately, this also means that if you're coming down at over 72kph, using the pack does nothing at all. Re: vehicles, the Shrike is pretty terrible right now (it was alright earlier in the beta, but they did some weird things with it) and the Beowulf is passable as a base defender but will get chewed apart on offense. The Gravcycle lets a flag carrier hop on and ride without loosing the flag, but no-one in pubs ever does this. However, a friend and I do this constantly and the chances of us loosing when doing this are almost nil. On the map front, there's talk about a Raindance remake, which could be really incredible, except they'll probably make it too small. The problem is that because of their physics, most of the T2 maps are way to vertical, so you'd spend a lot of time walking while your stuff recharged. Hell, that's why the no-energy tubes exist. Can you imagine Broadside without those? We'd never get back into the bases. But yeah, I'm going to keep playing and see where it goes. I've also got my eye on PS2 (got a PCG key so I have an invite guaranteed) and like I said, MWO. Still, it's nice to have Tribes back in some capacity.

So after much internal and external deliberation, T:A is not Tribes. What it is is the best thing we're going to get after the financial and reception fiasco that was T:V. The maps are too small, the physics make no fucking sense (can expand on if you'd like), the classes don't bother me as much as they once did but are still restrictive, generators don't mean anything and a host of other problems. Do I wish someone would just wholesale port T2 over to Cry3 or UE4? Sure. Is it going to happen? No. So I'll continue to play T:A as my FPS of choice for the foreseeable future. I can't promise I'll play a lot of it when MechWarrior Online rolls around though.

Every time an Emperor wanders into view surrounded by Macaronis I wig out a little. They're so large.

Just had a great game as Slardar, the one hero that has never fully clicked for me. Ursa got an early kill lead and almost tore us apart. We were down two (three?) towers and had a series of incredible teamfights (WD, Slardar, Silencer, Sand King, Lifestealer VS Ursa, Huskar, Faceless Void, Batrider, ES) and everything just came together for a while. We almost lost a couple teamfights but eventually managed to bring it around with only my death and won. Great game, great feeling. ID: 7152832

I once met someone from the town I grew up in in some terrible F2P MMO. Just randomly started chatting with him, he went to the same high school I did, one of our years even overlapped. It's a small world sometimes, this internet.

BioWare is that bad at writing their last two (three if you count SWTOR) franchises, yes.

It's not the earstuds? Or the rancorous idiocy?

What I'm saying on the EA/money/DLC front is that 20 extra bucks (for an already 60 dollar PC-only game) gets you a few cosmetic options. Whether the game is good or not, that's shitty practice. E: This is admittedly impressive sounding.

I'm just amused by people defending EA earlier in the thread.
