I figured it's not worth a new thread, but these are worth taking a look at. If you've played WoW, you know how it takes a good ten minutes to run from one end of the Barrens to the other. Look how small it is. http://imgur.com/a/XH1gS#0

I would recommend reading the book, aye. A point to be made from Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy... I don't know. I never really found one myself. Perhaps, if I had to find one, I would say that you should look towards "the illusion of control". I'm not sure there's really an idea to be gleaned from TTSS. It may just be a good suspense novel.

If ever you solo queue in a DotA-like game, random. Random and enjoy yourself. Build something out there, do crazy things (but not stupid things). It'll alleviate what may be a frustrating experience because of idiots.

See, they don't pull shit like that in the WWE. And boy do I wish they did, I would tune in every week without fail.

http://0x10c.com/screenshots/005.png Interesting. Also damn that's a performance hit, but I guess that's to be expected from sixteen dynamic lights. Fun Twitter snippit: The good news: the level editing is surprisingly fun, and it looks with with blocky textures. The bad news: IT'S MINECRAFT AGAIN NOOOOOOOO

Kroms, Florence + The Machine is incredible. Something about Kate Micucci's character on Scrubs always bothered me. Something about her, the person itself, bothers me. Couldn't say what it is. Whatever, have an amusing musical anecdote. groaPrY41Rk

Huh, I didn't know A Dangerous Method existed, I'll have to give that a watch. I have a question. Is liking professional wrestling wrong? I don't like the sport itself, there's no grace or point to it. But I love the spectacle. I love these bizarre pre-fight dramas and tune out during the actual fighting. It's like the worlds worst Hamlet adaptation.

Three Moves Ahead 163: Fifty, Alive, and King
Orv replied to Chris's topic in Three Moves Ahead Episodes
I'll preface this by saying I haven't listened to the episode yet, I'll fix that shortly. I have to agree with both of you (Chris and Troy) that CK2 is very much a people simulator rather than a world conquest simulator. Other Paradox games (you'll have to excuse me for not remembering how much TMA has spoken of those before) are very attached to a country. With the exception of that time you must inevitably face in Europa Universalis 3 where you are lead by a Reagent Council, all of the other Paradox grand strategy titles are country simulators. And I think that's kind of a flaw in them. Often in a game of EU3 I'll find myself thinking outside the, shall we say, box of the game. I'll "meta-game" and happily make use of knowledge and tactics beyond the scope of my character. The problem is that that character is a state, or a country, and I feel no particular connection to the off-white blob to my north. What I do often feel is a lingering animosity towards Austria because whenever I play an HRE country they tend to mess with my plans. So I'll cheat, and scheme and powergame my way to the top, and by the time I take on Austria I already own all of the East Indies, the entire Caribbean and most of Western Europe. Crusader Kings (both the original and the new) succeeds in making me roleplay something other than Genghis Khan 2.0. I consider the ramifications that appointing Chancellor Jerkface of the Westmarch to Keeper of the Geese will have. In any other game I'd just be prepping my armies to roll over anyone who opposes my actions. A full half my time in Crusader Kings is spent paused, crawling through family trees and relationships looking for weaknesses or flaws in my plan. Crusader Kings more than any game I've ever played can be left running for hours at a time while I go read a book or play another game and contemplate my next five minutes of gameplay. What I'm saying with unnecessary wind is what you've basically already said. Crusader Kings makes you consider the individual ramifications rather than "Oh well I can take Player 2s gold mines if I wipe out this base." I must admit, I'm worried that I'm not a very nice person because of Crusader Kings. And what more do you really want from a strategy game? -
Thiiiiiiis. I don't care whether the art is good or not. What the fuck is it and how many tactical nuke cards do I have to play to kill it?
-
The art is just fine. The subject matter concerns me greatly.
-
I assume you would then commit seppuku to cleanse the horrible shame. (What the fuck is thaaaaaaaaaaat. )

Sorry, modern cinema was a poor way to frame it. DO YOU LIKE MOVIES AT ALL?!
-
Is there anything about modern cinema you like?

Really? No-one was bothered by the atrocious shaky-cam? I normally quite enjoy that, this one almost made me nauseous.

Every little bit of it.

The Arma 2 + Operation AH thread of 'let's try this again'
Orv replied to Lu 's topic in Multiplayer Networking
Ben is really good at getting shot in the face, and I'm really good at saving his life. Good times today guys, sorry I had to duck out. -
This. EA was voted "Worst Company in the World" in some poll or another recently, and I can 100% guarantee you that that poll was borked by enraged fans. BioWare has been saying that they're "really proud of their artistic ending" and yet here they are giving in to the tidal wave of whinging. Not to mention it's hilarious that people enraged with the base ending are willing to spend money to "fix" it.

You'd need the Stealth perk that drops combat when you crouch, which is why he crouched to do it. But yeah, totally viable if you're quick enough.

Is that for Extras or something? That's great.

Idle musings after finishing my watch-through of DS9 a few hours ago; You know, I think something people don't realize often enough about Star Trek is that Starfleet is a military organization. The final season of DS9 shows this off better than any other Trek series (with the possible exception of a few Voyager episodes, Scorpion springs to mind), but it's something worth remembering. Sisko, Picard, Geordi, Nog, Miles, Riker. They're all soldiers. Sure, most of the time we see the cushier side of Starfleet. The captains room, Ten Foward, plush quarters with replicator access. But the Federation-Cardassian War isn't some point on a timeline for Starfleet. They may have fancy laserguns, but they're still set to kill. That said, when it's not all gloom and butchery, Star Trek will always be my favorite series/universe.

You can imply a seed in the world.txt file, but I'm not sure about that. -

No no no. Technic is a modpack. http://www.technicpack.net/ It brings in things like quarries and various industrial things, and one of the various packs brings in a nuclear reactor which can operate a ton of various things that produce economy chains. It's like setting up something like Stronghold or the old Caeser games, where you set up chains of goods to create a final product, in this case diamonds. It also has various quality of life things like cutting a trunk will break all the wood above and around it. It also comes with Wedge, a relatively recent terrain generator mod. P5B5JzOxnQ4 -

Might I suggest a Technic server if we do this again?
