I got one in The Tower of the _____ (the second one in Arreaat), and two from High Heaven. I've actually gotten 4, as I got The Executioner, a 2h axe from Act 2, but I got rid of that fairly quickly. (This was on Normal, mind.)

A UK friend of mine got it from Blockbuster for 35 pounds. Worth a shot if you're really interested.

Last years Steam get-together wasn't something to suffer through. It was wall-to-wall mocking of completely inept presenters and staged demonstrations. I'd be up for it again.

I'd recommend holding off in that case. The number of enemies you get in an encounter like the four pillars before Leoric is about a third or a quarter of the swarms you get in later acts. As well as the later class abilities causing a major ruckus and VFX whirlwind. If you can stomach it, don't let it stop you, but just be aware you'll probably be dying to chug a fair bit.

You should be able to access the Social menu (O by default) from the character lists.

To be fair, Diablo is basically all about that second and third playthough, and then trying to get those done on Hardcore. And of course the eventual expansion.

- Are you running Java 7, of the appropriate bit for your OS? - Have you tried allocating more memory to the process? (I imagine you have, I just want to check those before we try more arcane roads.)
