  1. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Firekeeper Souls are used by Firekeepers to reinforce your Estus Flask. Reinforcing your flask gives you more health per swig, whereas kindling bonfires gives you more flasks per rest. 20 is the max flasks available from a bonfire, but you can only kindle once (20 requires you to kindle three times) for a good while without some sequence breaking. Following that note, don't eat boss souls. That said, if you're hurting for souls, google Soul of _____ and see if it upgrades into anything you want. If not, eat it or . Currently in Sen's with a caestus and scimitar only run, using the scimitar for parrying. It is slowly killing me.
  2. Dust: An Elysian Tail

There's nothing inherently wrong with anthropomorphized animals, I dare anyone to watch Disney's Robin Hood adaptation and feel that way. It's the creepy shit that creepy, fucked up people get up to regarding anthropomorphized animals. The creators comment that he's "not making this for the average white adult male" makes me shy away from this because, who is he making it for then?
  3. This seems like the biggest waste of time I could imagine at this point, regarding Skyrim. Dawnguard was actually fun and good to play through, and now this.
  4. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Four new bosses, 6-ish new areas, a new covenant. The only thing that really matters is that you can get Gough's armor and you can buy unlimited consumable little wooden statues that say things in Gough's voice like "I'm sorry" and "Hello" when you throw them down in a persons world.
  5. Guild Wars 2

You are reading and seriously considering something posted on Guru. That's not to diminish how you feel about the game, mind you, but Guru is more or less the worst elements of entitlement, memes and NeoGAF rolled into one hive of scum and idiots. Funnily enough, I haven't really played any during headstart either, but that's probably more because Dark Souls is consuming me again.
  6. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

The trick to the AL archers is to force them into melee, block with your back against the wall and they'll stagger off the edge from the block. Getting in position to do that is of course another matter entirely. As for skipping the obscene amount of knights and such in AL, the spiral staircase can be jumped off of to get right to O+S.
  7. Guild Wars 2

At least try some W3 first.
  8. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

The dung pie trick does work yes. My issue with Blighttown is the layout tends to hide and confine a lot of annoying fights. Even taking it slow like you should basically any area, it takes way longer than I want to spend. Still don't hate it as much as the Depths, but it's a close second.
  9. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Let it be stated for the record that Blightown is the anus of the anus of Hell. No matter how well I know it.
  10. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

The graveyard (and a couple other areas that are immediately or almost-immediately accessible with the Master Key) is great for dumping all your souls into levels right when you get to Lordran and then running and picking up a bunch of great stuff. I love my Grass Crest shield.
  11. The Shitty Wizard is now a courier that is just that wizard model riding the basic courier.
  12. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

    Still not necessary.
  13. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Running fine, looks fine without any res fix. Hilariously, the res fix means you can't read soapsigns.
  14. Tribes: Ascend

Arice Tribes, arice. v8mXJI_oJMg I don't know that I have ever been this excited about so much nothing.
  15. Dark Souls(Demon's Souls successor)

Dark Souls can currently be pre-loaded on Steam, should you be so inclined. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=76iPvmAclM0
  16. Guild Wars 2

WvWvW (or W3) is going to suck up a lot of my time in the coming years. It's like DAoC without the crazy insta-kill army lines that tend to form up in DAoC wargrounds, and what Warhammer should have been. PvE I could care less about.
  17. Far Cry 3

    This sounds surprisingly not-shit. http://www.pcgamer.com/previews/far-cry-3-hands-on-battling-bandits-with-friendly-bears-and-komodo-dragons/
  18. DayZ

It begins. Welcome to the Bean Wars.
  19. Command & Conquer: Generals 2

Despite the hate for it, Generals is a solid, enjoyable RTS with a pretty high skill ceiling in places. The issue being that it was branded Command and Conquer and is almost nothing like the other games. While the campaigns in TibSun and RA2 and things like that were really fun, Generals was a departure in that the campaign was more of a standard RTS campaign with in-engine shots of humvees giving expository dialogue. I don't really mourn the lack of a single-player in Generals 2, but I do mourn the idea of a F2P competitive RTS. That has to be handled very delicately.
  20. Lies of Locke Lamora

You're in both so much and so little luck. Red Seas Under Red Skies takes them to Tal Verrar and is even better than the first book. On the little luck end, Republic of Thieves, the third book in the series, is being perpetually delayed because Lynch's life has kind of been fucked up a lot the last year or so. Nothing to fault him for, but I'm pretty close to rereading the first two books at this point, for a third time no less. I'd thoroughly recommend both books for a (mostly, there is a smidgen of high fantasy magic) low-fantasy Oceans Eleven meet Robin Hood meets The Count of Monte Cristo.
  21. DayZ

The issue being that your interaction with the random woman is a real edge case, you're safer off just killing people. Don't let me corrupt you though. Play DayZ long enough and you'll be just as paranoid and phobic as everyone else, it just takes time.
  22. DayZ

In descending order of relative danger - Cherno - Stary Sobor - Any airstrip - Berezino - Elektro - Everywhere Be prepared to kill if you venture into any of those places that I've named specifically, and to do so without hesitation.
  23. DayZ

Aside from Cherno, Stary is the most dangerous place in the game. Good loot though.
