The Club is terrible. FEAR 1 & 2 are worth playing, 3 is worth playing if you play it coop. The expansion packs are... well.

What an absolutely fantastic pair of episodes Silence In The Library and Forest Of The Dead Are.

He's the straight man in a cast of howler monkeys. Though Drew also serves that function, he just doesn't show up as much in their front facing stuff.

All three story DLCs are worth playing. (Zheed, Kumi and Shadowbroker.)

The original was, if you can wrap your head around such a bizarre idea, the pinnacle of the genre, so if you really want to get into trucking sims, EuroTruck2 is probably the best way to go.

Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube

I might not like his recent cinematic endeavours, but that was fantastic. Colbert as well. I'm sure most of you have seen this, but just in case. -
I have a weird relationship with horror games. I'll watch horror movies all day and night then sleep like a log. Jump scares do nothing to me, in any medium. On the other hand, my ability to psych myself out is tremendous, so things like Steven Moffat Who episodes are pretty good at utterly ruining me. A grossly overactive imagination doesn't assist these matters. So when I tried to play Amnesia for the first time, just having heard shit, I managed to psych myself out so badly that I quit something like ten minutes in, before even seeing the bad guy. Dead Space 1 did more or less nothing to me whereas System Shock 2 managed to freak me out like crazy, though I didn't quit it. It's a real overthinking issue for me, because I'm usually busy thinking of way worse shit than is happening. I did manage to finally play Amnesia but I was at the time liberally liquored and it was midday.

The First Men on the Moon (neat way to experience Apollo 11's landing)

It's nice to finally be able to witness this secondhand after reading about it years ago. What I wouldn't give to have worked in NASA mission control when they were still doing this stuff. -

Our ratio of outspoken nutters is significantly higher than most places. We even give them places on television! -
Astonished you didn't screencap him driving with his feet, Subbes.

Cool stuff from the Thumbs on the Tested Oktoberkast.

It's super awesome, but you know it's just going to be used to designate humans in camps.

It's a dull, confused attempt at taking the good bits of DK and making a new game. Except they've failed because it has no charm, the interface, while not offensive, is not great, the graphics are a bit lifeless and the game just isn't that fun to play. Wait for Impire. I will note that it doesn't actually have any mechanical deficiencies. The mechanics are all well thought out and balanced, it's just not any fun.

My 100% success "Buy this game spiel" has been. Q: Have you played Super Meat Boy? Q: Have you seen Drive? "Alright, so imagine a top-down ultraviolent combat puzzle game. You and everyone else dies in one hit from any weapon but your fists, and you can see every guy on the level. So you bust down a door, which stuns the guy standing behind it, pick up his bat and throw it at the guy with the gun, then punch the guy coming at you with a knife, kick his head in, grab the gun and shoot the two other guys. Room clear, but there are five to go. This all takes three seconds max. If you fuck up you just hit R and seamlessly respawn at the checkpoint." And it sounds really horrible when you just lay out your average room in Hotline Miami, but I've sold four people on it so far.

Awesomenauts, NS2 and maybe Sleeping Dogs.

Uh, except you can chat to your team in SMITE? Are you thinking of LoL, where you have to enable that option? The community for both games is, hilariously, now worse than the one in DotA 2.

I'd agree with you if it wasn't almost exactly WoM with a few minor changes. They've basically polished and rehashed a game they already released, already asked money for, and are now asking money for again. Even considering that early buyers got a free copy, that's pretty shitty to do.
-
To be fair, it should flop because they're asking $40 for the same game.

While true (except the Kotaku bit), Brad has control of the company rather than being some mid-level asshole, and has wholly proven through Twitter and other spaces that he is an utterly horrendous person. On the one hand, don't support that, on the other hand, those working under him need money. That said, if you didn't like WoM, it's more of the same with a slightly higher amount of polish, and isn't worth the money on either hand.

MaK: Sandbox/Action Hybrid + Relative Gravity & Building
Orv replied to flaps's topic in Video Gaming
Oh jesus, this is your baby? I was completely enticed by that video when it showed up a couple weeks ago. Kickstarter ho! E: I should ask, since you're here. How big are your "maps" intended to end up being? I assume the group of planetoids in that video is just a dev world. -
Hey, you shouldn't buy shit from Stardock because Brad Wardell is a reprehensible human being. (It's also not any better than WoM.)
