  1. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

They are stupid, possibly ignorant people. I revel in their embarrassment, because it stops people around me realizing. . .I'm not that into art. . .
  2. Neptune's Pride Co-op, Sort Of

Alright, so I've joined a game (if you have a Google account, you're basically in Beta.) and I'll see about doing an AAR. If I enjoy it enough, I'll look into grabbing a "key" and starting a Thumbs game, probably next week.
  3. Movie/TV recommendations

Be honest with me folks, is Kevin Sorbo the devil? He doesn't age.
  4. Neptune's Pride Co-op, Sort Of

I liked the L4D2 analogy, as I've actually run into random teams that try to be The Highlander. As for the game itself, as far as I can tell (from the website of the game itself) the only way to "win" is to remove the Blight from the map entirely. So yeah, the initial expansion phase could get a bit contentious (probably less in an all Thumb game, none of us are complete assholes here) but I imagine we could work it out. I have this mental image of this glorious Thumbs game of Blight of the Immortals in which we support each other and give cohesive reports on how we are about to die horribly and things of that sort. It's part of the reason I want mobs on in our MineCraft server. I believe a large cooperative Thumbs game would be an astounding thing to take part in. Mainly because people around here are not stupid.
  5. Neptune's Pride Co-op, Sort Of

Well, killing each other isn't the objective. Killing off other human players earns you nothing. So, not. . .exactly my take on it, Quanta. . .
  6. Mass Effect 3

Am I a bad person for not liking Mass Effect? It's the only BioWare product I despise with all my soul.
  7. Life

Holy crap! There is a giant pumpkin roll in my house. Omnf nomf nomf. In other news, Aurelius is already learning the necessary skills for world domination. Like how to be so toxically (Google tells me this is a word, but Chrome says no. Hmm) cute that everyone in the house does his bidding. EG. I found him in the dogs bed yesterday and the dog was afraid to approach him at all. I'm not sure what to do about that.
  8. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I feel horrible for not saying this sooner: 7gT4OTYUS-c I've had his Greatest Hits disks playing through-out my last couple days of World of Tanks, and while it may not fit perfectly, I enjoy it to no end.
  9. V The Elder Scrolls

While it's filled with odd and horrible things, The Elder Scrolls Nexus (and accompanying Fallout and Dragon Age sites) is a great place for more or less every major mod ever made, and even some really quirky ones. (Just avoid the Picture sharing area. )
  10. The Humble Indie B2ndle

While Desert Bus has lots of my money for CP, I suppose I can afford some more, especially for this collection of games. I get harped at constantly about Machinarium, and RotT has held my interest since an ad on RPS, but I never got around to it. Day One Perch, hooooooooooooooooo!
  11. V The Elder Scrolls

Obscuro's Oblivion Overhaul is the primary method of removing level scaling. And it does it quite well, to an almost Morrowind level of polish. I recommend giving it a go.
  12. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

Wow. . . That really is a Call of Duty multiplayer match. And that frightens and abhors me.
  13. V The Elder Scrolls

Let it out. Embrace it. So I'm sitting here in space, in a pod, because I am stupid. As a result, IT1 is playing, and I had a horrible thought. What if they use the FO3/NV skill system instead of Use = Skill? I would injure a great many people.
  14. I'm glad you found something to do with 13. I felt like it was already a thing.
  15. Movie/TV recommendations

    It Might Get Loud
  16. V The Elder Scrolls

It's ironic that as technology goes forward, it will probably prevent us from ever seeing something like Daggerfall again. So much for progress.
  17. That is. . .I really don't know how to describe that. I now admire Jonathan Frakes even more.
  18. Life

FOX News! 24/7 Fear mongering, for the people, by the twats! But yes, as discussed, if you're trying to escape what you are in GB, the US might not be the best place. Botswana, maybe?
  19. GOTY.cx 2010

Hey, good timing. GOTY.cx 1. A tie between - Civ 5 and Elemental: War of Magic (despite how incredibly poor it was at launch, and still sort of is.) 2. Hegemony: Philip of Macedon - This has been out for a while (this year, yes) but has only recently shown up on Steam. The best way I can think to describe it is "Sins of a Solar Empire in the Ancient World." Specifically around the time of Alexander the Great. It's hard to explain this game, but it has probably been my third largest time vacuum. And with sandbox play (not limited to a single nation) coming out soon, that will probably double. If you like Grand Strategy with some interesting new quirks, give a review a read. 2.5 - Team Fortress 2 - Wait! Hear me out! Team Fortress 2 has finally reached general stability. The classes have their major modifications done, the game is in the state it's probably going to remain in for the rest of its life (and it's certainly a long way from 1.0) and it has reached a balance that all class-based shooters should strive for. While not strictly released this year, I think it was "finished" this year. (Of course, with this beta going now, who knows? But I figure it's pretty much reached where it needs to be in terms of balance.) 3. MineCraft - This has consumed probably less man hours than most of my games, but has certainly consumed the most mental time. I've spent more time away from my computer suddenly stopping whatever I'm doing and tuning out the world to think about MineCraft than I have sleeping. I am a sad, sad human being. Honorable Mentions: (Thank you Squid, I don't have to leave these out.) - Frozen Synapse: An excellent Rainbow Six successor, turn-based, top-down squad-based, strategy game. Hyphen. (Not technically released, but hey, neither is MineCraft. - World of Warcraft: Catackaclysm: An incredible amount of polish for a now six years old game. Shame it's not enough to make me stick around. - ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead: For having the greatest dialogue line ever; When you hear sound of dying Russian you not stop shooting! When you hear sound of dying russian, you shoot some more, then stop!
  20. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

You really shouldn't. This is like the History Channel these days; They tend to find aliens everywhere they can. Ancient Japanese Dogu figurines, Hopi dolls, completely and utter indistinct stick-figure cave paintings. They're making a big ammount of stink about things that aren't true. Same thing with those two things. While I'm all for feminism (though I tend to accidentally stray into chauvinism at times) there is a limit. Life painting is not perverse unless you allow it to be, as Dan said. There's a time, a place and a medium for activism, and now, museums and art do not qualify. (Okay, what the fuck is that sentence? Leaving it anyway.)
  21. Life

TP has the right of it. While we may not look like a smoking pile of death and failure from a distance (of about three light-years) I wouldn't recommend here. I still say Canada, Pat.
  22. Steam Trezer Hunt

I have the Steam basic use ones, despite owning a few of the games they've done so far. I just don't care enough, because I know my chances are very close to resembling nil.
  23. Books, books, books...

(I sort of ignored this whole conversation until now.) I'm glad I'm not the only one in the universe that feels that way. Even more with Alan Rickman playing him.
  24. WTF is Telltale's new game?

Injurious statement regarding Quanta's mother. General statement regarding TellTale as awesome. Pointless quip about PNatI exploits. (I'm sorry, I've been rereading the Order of the Stick archives today.) Like Jake said, it's not something they wouldn't be aware of. That is, in fact, a rather idiotic statement (some offence) to say that a company is not aware of how their games are produced. Sure bugs exists, but I'm sure if it weren't intentional, someone would find out (on a polish pass or what-have-you) and point it out, and it would get rectified. Thus, as Jake pointed out, it's done, will be done, etc. On topic: RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE. The one thing I want is Tycho's watch and he's just too damn crafty for me on Hard. Might as well knock the setting down.
