  1. Far Cry 2

    Hehhehehehehehehe. http://www.imfdb.org/index.php/Far_Cry_2
  2. Good Old GOG

    I never did finish Planetfall. . .
  3. Books, books, books...

In that same universe, TSCC is still on, Dollhouse never went anywhere but Whedon's mind, Angel is still going (though I don't know how I feel about not having Bones as a result) and Brad Pitt is a good actor. I really hate that other universe. Why can't it be ours?
  4. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

So I just had a 15 minute conversation about how everyone is wrong about Blizzard's composers being astounding. Probably a gigantic waste of my time and remaining bone mass before arthritis, but please someone tell me I'm not wrong when I say this: LdZyKLi55V0 Blows this (the track below) out of the water and then fills it with arrows just for fun. 5. Internet Comics

Thank you! I had forgotten about 3PS. *Idiot grin here* *Perhaps an even bigger, more idiotic grin* I'm done for now, I swear.
  6. Internet Comics

The excellent (I should know, I read the archives in one sitting!) Gunnerkrigg Court. The Very First Page
  7. Internet Comics

    The best godsdamned thing.
  8. Internet Comics

Now, I'm probably not going to get a lot of "Hooray for you!"s about this, but I generally enjoy Garfield. However, when a friend introduced me to GMG, I could not think of a single reason why this wasn't a better thing. I still love Garfield's cynicism and, ahem, wit, but GMG is astounding. /review
  9. V The Elder Scrolls

Well Rodi, I started reading your post and had to go take leave of the facilities. I was thinking "How could anyone buy a Bethesda game on anything but PC, the way the community mods them?!" But apparently you're a crazy person, so I really can't help you there.
  10. Internet Comics

My previous post has been linked, you miserable fools.
  11. Internet Comics

I was mildly concerned about posting Oglaf, but I guess we're all adults here. Or at least not idiots. Though I also partially go for the snippets at the top of the page. "The mustard burns slightly, but it accentuates my resemblance to ham."
  12. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

It's honestly impressive. I just wish his parents had taken him aside and said "Maybe. . .organ?" instead of letting him become so talented with the godsdamned accordion.
  13. Internet Comics

In no particular order; Schlock Mercenary(I would thoroughly recommend the four/five day trip through the archives.) Dr McNinja Least I Could Do Penny Arcade Questionable Content Looking For Group And occasionally CAD if I get bored. All of these are daily/tri-weekly reading for me. I'll pop hyperlinks in there when I wake up, as I am balls to the walls exhausted. (I'm not really sure what that means, honestly.)
  14. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Yes! No! Pants! Man, I just like the twist of phrase and you have to go and make logic at it. (But yes, it does start from without, and it can permeate specific areas. In the most dramatic cases your entire body becomes thrilled.)
  15. Life

I would hug you, TP, but the urge to beat you with a bowling pin would be overwhelming.
  16. Life

Well. . .yes. But the point stands. No they have not.
  17. Life

Short answer: The man is a drooling idiot. Long answer: The man is still a drooling idiot, but I can see where he might be coming from with BioShock. Even then, BioShock is still not exactly a monolithic masterpiece of drama and tragedy, it's just a really well imagined place. The story is. . .well, if I'm honest, mediocre. If I'm buoyed by the "choices" and the sets, I'd give it a 4/5. The man is a drooling idiot. Especially in regards to Gears of War. So no, they haven't overtaken cinema. Cinema has just been, really. . .lacking lately, in terms of good stories.
  18. Recently completed video games

Winter Assault's story is relatively interesting, if you're a 40K buff, but it still suffers from in-engine cutscene. (And for some ungodly reason, they did the Soulstorm beginning cutscene entirely in-engine.) But it's nothing that's going to amaze you, gameplay wise, with the exception of the occasional Titan bit. (Like a still functioning LASER CANNON ARM, to slightly but not fully spoil it.)
  19. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

This thrills me to the bone.
  20. Neptune's Pride Co-op, Sort Of

I could have sworn I set it to Hard. . .
  21. Alright, I'm done with MineCraft. My arachnophobia cannot deal with that shit.
  22. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

I think the 10K bit is done in Midtown Madness 2 France, which is a horrible, shitty piece of shit. (Though I wasn't aware it was released for anything but the Xbox, which is. . .odd.) So yeah, it probably won't be great. As for the 1K video being posted in '09, the project was done on a TM fansite in '04, gained huge popularity off some video site (I forget which one) in '06, so it's nice to see they're doing it again. Even if the scope of their dreams might out-pace the reach.
  23. Arcania / Gothic 4

Places and people whose opinions I trust and generally agree with say that it's the most generic, bland, soulless RPG to come out in years. Take that as you will.
  24. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

The way the TrackMania games are set up (AFAIR) is that you can simply browse a gigantic library of recordings/ghosts and tracks/car skins. So you could potentially grab a thousand different runs, or however many you need until it is sufficiently random. That said, it could just be the same guy running the same three minute map a thousand times, or ten, one hundred car races, or a hundred ten car races. I don't really know. The project is so old ('04) that there probably aren't any remaining design/project docs. Edit a few minutes later: Actually, thinking about how TrackMania works and how this is filmed, it's probably intentionally done this way. Even if it's just 1000 people sending in a replay with a random track time/route, it was probably done specifically for this. The fact that only two skins are in evidence (and they're custom skins, not free ones) means that the skins are probably intentional for the nice "fountain of color" effects, and the like. So yeah, in a real TM game, they'd all be trying to find the perfect line, at 400 MPH, so this is, in all likely-hood, staged. Still neat though.
