  1. It's beginning to look a lot like...

    Merry Christmas!
  2. The Official Video Game Music Corner

I've been jamming on the Stronghold OST. I like the original game's much better than the Crusader OST.
  3. The Official Video Game Music Corner

http://youtu.be/N7NvwoX4iJE This song really manages to capture the essence of the more peaceful parts of playing EVE. It's so chill.

Journey - Way overdue on this one. I played it at my friend's place. It was...something. The only thing that will probably stick with me about it is the look/art direction of the whole thing and how the multiplayer works. My friend remarked how differently we both played through the game. He took his time and collected a lot of the shiny bits while I just kind of tore through it, but that's how I play most games.
  5. Starbound

It takes way too long to mine stuff. Even basic rock is slightly excruciating to dig through.

If you plan to at least check this out, it's addicting as hell. Even more so if you and a friend(s) are watching and betting at the same time while on mumble or something.
  7. As someone who plays games for systems, this game is my wet dream so far. There's just so much to it. The combat-feel could be little better but I trust GGG to continue to improve in that department. It's easy to overlook this with the amount of freedom and flexibility the game gives you.
  8. Favourite Combat

I'll probably be the odd man out on this one but I LOVE the combat model in Monster Hunter. It's not the deepest in terms of move sets but the weapons all work differently. At first I hated the animation times and being locked into them, but it teaches you to really think about what you're doing, you need to by aware of what the monster is doing and how long you have to get off a certain combo. Add breakable parts on monsters and you have some really satisfying tactical combat.

This is spot on. The game really reaches for that "epic" feeling (I hate using that word but everything in Warhammer is BIG AND EPIC) but it never really achieves it. Perhaps the most disappointing of these epic moments is when you get the Titan all powered up The sequence leading up to powering it up I was nerding out because I wanted to see it kick some ass. If/when the sequel comes hopefully they can capture that Warhammer feeling better.

I just finished Space Marine about 20 minutes ago. A very middle of the road game that I wouldn't of even bothered to finish if it weren't for the fact that it's a Warhammer game. The last act or so is a bit of a slog and the final battle is pretty disappointing. Who knows what will happen to the sequel now that THQ is being cannibalized or whatever.
  11. Cyberpunk 2077

I tried and tried, but I just couldn't get into The Witcher or The Witcher 2. I understand why people like them and I think they're important games, they're just not my jam at this point in my life. I'll probably approach this one cautiously.
  12. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hi, just signed up on the forums. Been listening to the pod castery. Best podcast on the internet, gaming or not!
