Well, I no longer have a job, so it seems I will have more time to play Starcraft II now. Anyone up for some practice or two vs. two with me?
-
Crap, that was tonight. I completely forgot.

I'll finally be back in the States tomorrow, so I think I will have the time to attend the meet up this time. Honest

The biggest difficulty you will come across is keeping your interest through the beginning push. Also, the game is amazing if you have the right group of people involved. There isn't a huge learning curve, but knowing how battles work, and what everything means can be confusing at first. It's a fun game, I really enjoy it, and under the right circumstances it induces heart attack, ulcer forming levels of stress.

Things have not gotten any better. It is quite apparent that nobody wants me here.

Sorry NA crew, I was busy as well. Work has been kicking my butt recently.

I work as an IT consultant and was contracted to do some network infrastructure work for a company with offices in both the US and Japan. It sounds like I got caught in the middle of some office politics. Essentially no one bothered to inform the Japanese branch that I was going to be there.

It is awesome to fly sixteen hours for business meeting only to be stood up.

Yeah, sorry about that guys. It turned into a disaster of a week so far, I haven't played once for days now. I'm suffering withdrawals. I think next wedneday will work fine.

May not make it to the thumbs starcraft meetup on Wednesday. I might be preparing for a business trip instead... fun

I know, but it must be done. Give the Thumbs their proper send off. -
That works for me

I don't think any of your planets have been taken yet actually. You could jump back in probably. You couldn't win at this point, the reemergence of the orange player would certainly spice things up. -
yeah, I've been the victim of such tactics many-a-times myself.

I'm a little concerned about the cooldown time for the protoss. 5 seconds is a lot of time and lost productivity.
-
First big round of balance changes, eh? It will be interesting to see how it effects the game.

I'f you didn't like the the world of the first game then I can't see how you would enjoy the second game any more. -
hmm, never noticed that.
-
Agreed, it is a very different experience then playing the ladder matches.
-
Thank you for the advice, I am horrible at switching from micro to macro and vice versa. I get too drawn in to one or the other. I suppose that will get easier with time. I probably should play more of the other races too, right now even if I see the enemy base I don't really know what they are doing.

Personally I preferred the last half of the movie to the final book
-
Well, that was fun. I suck, badly, but it was fun.

They seem quite steadfast in their decision to region lock everyone. The solution they gave to the Pros was to own an account in each region. I think a thumbs league would be cool, I'm certainly drawn into the game enough.

I can't wait for the FFA tomorrow, I know I'll lose horribly, but it will be good to go up against the thumbs.

If they time out there will be a window that comes up with a count down timer saying waiting for players. If the game just ends the other guy gave up. I've been watching the replays from the recent ESL tournament at Gamescon. The finals were a Zerg vs. Terran bout. The Zerg put up a valiant fight but were overwhelmed 3 games to 1 by the same sort of early reaper harassment that seems so prolific.
