I know exactly what you mean. I also have similar issues with the "Asian food" aisle in most grocery stores. I know of a couple specialty food stores I can go to for better, more specific ingredients but they're really far out of the way for me.

Knuckle's new design reminds me of old cartoons where characters would blow into their thumb and inflate themselves. I also watched the Giant Bomb quick look of the game (or at least as much as I could stand). I'm not very familiar with the Sonic universe but Knuckles is now a stereotypical dumb brute character (to the point that he has to do the thing where you use your thumb and index finger to make an L to figure out which one is the left).

I agree the weapons look dumb but I'm also about function over form so it doesn't bother me in the least. Speaking of willpower, I'm now past the halfway point in terms of getting to the max possible level (I'm III-83 as of right now). I've been grinding XP by doing the Hoxton Breakout and Hotline Miami jobs over and over and over and over and over and over... and over and over. I'll occasionally try to break it up with something else but those two seem the most efficient (getting over 1 million XP on overkill difficulty with the right circumstances). The fact that I don't own the Hotline Miami DLC also means I'm not hosting which means I have to deal with certain kinds of people I'd rather not have to, although it's not a very frequent occurrence. I'm getting tired of this pattern but I also don't want to leave it half finished.

The Simpsons is on Hulu Plus. Use the promo code* thumbs/chris/jake/mints/fartnoise to watch crappy new couch gags. *I have no idea what the actual promo codes are right now. Also I think Hulu Plus kinda sucks. There's some good stuff on there but not as much as I'd expect, you still get ads even though it's a paid subscription, and their mobile app is terrible. I only have it because I got 2 free months using a promo from my Chromecast and I'm going to cancel before I actually have to pay.

I just finished season 2 of House of Cards. Still really confused on a bunch of stuff but it was pretty good. Especially Kevin Spacey. I almost want to play Call of Duty now just to see him some more.

I'm still pretty amazed by all of this. It took 10 years and traveled 6.4 billion km to get where it is today. The descent took 7 hours. Just think, when this was launched smartphones weren't really a thing yet (the first iPhone was still 3 years away). Can you imagine launching something then waiting a decade to find out if it would work? Those 7 hours of the descent must have been nerve-racking.

I liked a good number of the Comedy Central episodes. On average I think they were worse than the first run, but some of them I think were as good if not better. My personal favorite of the CC ones is Law and Oracle. So many stupidly great jokes in that one even if all the references are really dated.

I found an Android version of this game. Not an "official" one but it's the same thing.

Some dumb clarifications. Amiibos use NFC, which is the same thing that's in a ton of phones and the same thing that Skylanders and Disney Infinity use. It was built into the Wii U gamepad from day one. It makes me wonder how long its going to be before the Amiibos are hacked and people mod their Smash AI. It's also worth noting that the New 3DS also has built in NFC but the original 3DS does not. The Great Cave Offensive was one of the games in Kirby Super Star (aka the best Kirby game). The idea behind that particular game was collecting treasures hidden all over a giant map so it makes sense that it would be a huge map in Smash. I like that Captain Toad became Commander Toad when Jake started talking about it.

I still disagree but we're arguing in circles. They all have their strengths and weaknesses that are suited to different styles and strategies. I think we should just leave it at that.

I disagree with that. I already outlined two scenarios where the spitter is quite useful. Yes, both of those are delaying tactics but so is the boomer. And I feel like the pipe bombs act as a counter to the boomer. Plus the spitter is the most capable of hit and run tactics since you never lose control of the character like the other classes (besides the boomer and the jockey to a degree). Personally I find the charger to be the least nuanced. Its like a combination of the hunter and smoker, a role I'm not entirely sure needed to be filled. I do admit it's fun to charge a survivor off a high ledge but that's a fairly rare occurrence.

Looking at any of the SI alone is pointless because the game is designed around teamwork and every one of them requires it to do anything (except for possibly the tank but that's a special case). The thing I like about the spitter is that it was designed to specifically counter a common tactic (ie getting into a corner and endlessly melee) but the real strength of the class is in area denial. I like doing stuff like spitting on a downed survivor to prevent them from being picked up by their team or blocking off a narrow passage with acid and forcing them to wait it out or take a different route. I like the subtle tactics whose effects are harder to see than a straight up attack.

You are both the thing that I hate . While I think it was a smart addition, that doesn't prevent me from hating it. I enjoy being the spitter, especially when you can get all four of the survivors at once. It's even better if they're covered in boomer bile and can't see anything.

Microsoft filed a trademark for Battletoads. What could it mean? They responded to IGN with "Microsoft often acquires various trademarks as part of its ongoing business strategy, but beyond that we have no comment." Do I dare hope? Despite being hard as shit I still liked the Battletoads games for being super wacky and bizarre. I would play a new one.

I had a dream last night where I was trying to rob the Death Star. I'm not exactly sure what I was stealing but I kept fucking it up and running away only to attempt it again later. I was about to pull it off when the alarm on my clock went off, which for a split second meant the alarm in my dream went off as well. I think I've been playing too much Payday. Not sure how the Death Star came into it though.
