  1. I'll be hanging out in the Thumbs Steam group chat. If I'm playing something else, feel free to yell at me until I quit and join.
  2. I just now noticed in the last picture he suddenly has a wizard hat on. Well done.
  3. Monaco

I'm only a couple missions into it, but I like how I'm actively picking items that don't involve me shooting someone. I was worried when I saw a gun that I would end up a trigger happy thief (even with the ammo mechanic), but I'm finding using other stuff to be more rewarding. If only I weren't so bad at not being seen. I need to play with other people to offset my lack of sneakiness.
  4. Life

I've been silently following along and thus far haven't said anything because, well, I'm afraid I have no good advice to offer, at least nothing beyond what has already been said. But you can count me among your supporters Tegan. I hope things turn around for you soon.
  5. "IDLE THUMBS!" Nope, didn't work. Guess I'll listen anyway. The only reason I even thought to timestamp the Kerbal stream was because Sean came in at the end and asked if anyone had a timestamp while we were catching him up. While looking for the moment referenced in the cast, it occured to me that I might as well do the whole thing. Although in the future I'll probably be keeping a running list during streams because I love rewatching those things.
  6. I'm downloading it now. I'd love to join a weekend game too.
  7. Oculus rift

Has this been seen/discussed yet? https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=t9TwZ3jpPoA
  8. Saturday Morning Streams

Nick's realization that he has no fuel and the crecendo to Space Asshole is amazing, but I think my favorite moment might actually be when Wizard IV re-enters the atmosphere. The image of the ship surrounded by flames while Chris sings a haunting melody is a tragically beautiful moment in the midst of chaos. Then Chris forgets the chords and Nick flips the ship until it crashes and the balance is restored.
  9. I read somewhere that Daigo actually found it difficult to do at the time because he usually coordinates with the sound but he couldn't hear because of all the screaming and was somewhat surprised he pulled it off.
  10. Saturday Morning Streams

While the Kerbal Space Program stream was amazing, a lot of it is quiet time while Nick builds and most of the discussion took place in the chat. Here are some timestamps for the exciting/hilarious parts: Part 1 6:20 - Nick launches an imitation of a Jake style craft 30:58 - Launch of Wizard I 35:14 - Nick and Sean discuss some secret plans in Neptune's Pride II 37:00 - Wizard II tests 45:39 - Launch of Wizard II 1:10:10 - Wizard II achieves Mun orbit 1:13:00 - Hilarious EVA 1:48:20 - Chris sings "Space Oddity" and Idle Thumbs loses its kickstarter money to David Bowie Part 2 1:30 - Launch of Wizard IV 2:10 - Real launch of Wizard IV while Chris sings "Rocket Man" 8:04 - Nick plans some maneuvers while Chris does his version of Shatner's version of "Rocket Man" 10:08 - Wizard IV faces calamity 13:50 - Launch of Wizard V... followed shortly thereafter by the 2nd launch of Wizard V... then the 3rd launch... then the 4th... 24:07 - Final launch of Wizard V 50:50 - Now in orbit around the Mun, Wizard V encounters... problems (with perfect accompanying music by Chris). The best part is at 52:30 53:50 - Fly Nick to the Mun... 1:09:27 - Wizard II attempts a Mun landing Feel free to add any I missed.
  11. Injustice: Gods Among Us

I'm not really into fighters, so there's probably little to no chance I'll actually play it, but I'm curious about the story. Why are they fighting and is there any justification to why non powered characters can fight the likes of Superman? The answer will probably require spoiler tags.
  12. Link 2 The Past: 2 Past 2 Furious

LA definitely had some good stuff going on, but I still love the Hyrule in LttP. It had a lot of little mysteries that never had answers but made me super happy to find. I remember the map in the light/dark world was covered by clouds until you reached that area, but the edges of the map were always surrounded by clouds and as a kid I really wanted to uncover them.
  13. Link 2 The Past: 2 Past 2 Furious

Tegan, I don't think you should change the name even after the game has an official title. It's the best worst best worst best. I'm also stupidly excited by this. LttP is by far my favorite Zelda. I can't wait to explore that world some more. I guess I have to get a 3DS now.
  14. I don't think Divekick will become a big hit or anything like that, but I do appreciate the "less is more" design. It's the same reason I liked Smash until it got more complicated later in the series and people picked it apart the same way they do other fighting games. I appreciate how much nuance there is in such games, but sometimes I just want to hit a guy and have it be fun and hilarious.
  15. Life

    [insert canned laughter and applause]
  16. I would love to see Divekick at EVO. They said they're going to try and release by then, which would be amazing. If you don't know what Divekick is, it's a really simple fighting game. Simple as in there are only 2 buttons: dive (which actually makes you jump) and kick (which makes you, well, kick). Every hit does 1 million damage and every character has 1000 hp so each round is basically whoever gets the first hit. There's more to it than that, but it's hilariously fun. Their booth was right next to the Double Fine booth at PAX East and whenever I came by DF to stalk Chris there was a huge crowd around it. It looks like a fake game, but it's actually a rather clever twist on a fighting game that strips out a lot of the complicated stuff to just get down to the fun. I think one of the developers said that he wanted to take the climactic final few seconds of a match (like in the above EVO video) and make a game that felt like that all the time.
  17. Listening to just the old crew brought back some memories (don't worry Sean, I still love you). Question about Neptune's Bounty Pride II: Am I correct to assume it uses the same credit system for game creation as the first? Will the block of credits I purchased so long ago still work? As for exploring spaces, I got to thinking about how I used to play adventure games as a kid. Whenever I found a thing that allows me to take one step further into a puzzle solution, I would immediately leave the area to go use said thing in said puzzle. This resulted in a lot of wandering around. Now, I go for efficiency and pick up everything in an area then solve puzzles until I'm out of inventory, even in games I haven't played before. I don't know if that's reflective of my mindset as a kid/adult but that's not an unreasonable position to take. I was especially reminded of this during the Lucasarts Saturday stream. Watching you guys walk into a room in Day of the Tentacle and then proceed to pick up all the things seemed strange to me because that's not how I remembered myself doing it, but it's probably what I would do now.
  18. Nintendo 3DS

I haven't actually seen any of the Nintendo Direct stuff, but a LttP sequel might finally be the thing to push me over the edge and get a 3DS. While I won't argue that it's the "best" one, Link to the Past is absolutely my favorite Zelda game.
  19. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

That's what I'm afraid of. This feels like Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard all over again. A game that started with an amusing concept and had some funny jokes in it, but in the end all we're left with is a crappy game about nothing. Granted, the premise, look, and humor in Blood Dragon already appear to be 1000% better than Matt Hazard but I'm still leery. Hopefully I'm wrong.
  20. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

  21. I love that video. Gives me goosebumps every time. Here's some solo 2-player Ikaruga
  22. Life

I was in Boston a few weeks ago for PAX. Kinda scary to think about now.
  23. I like the 3:00 mark where it seems like a rhythm game for a while. Also credits during the invisible sequence is awesome.
  24. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Everything about this game makes me excited... except for the game part. Hopefully it's much less generic than it looks.
