  1. Super Metroid Appreciation Station

That's an interesting, if a bit far fetched, interpretation. Kind of reminds me of the Zelda fans who insist on trying to piece together the fragmented history of that series (and I'm aware of the "official" timeline but frankly I felt it was a cheap cop out).
  2. Games giveaway

Ok, here are the "official" answers: I accepted alternate answers for several of them, particularly 11, 36, 37, and 45. No one got all of them, the top score was 43/48. I will be contacting the winners to give out the prizes. I had exactly the same number of entries as I did games so everyone gets something. I was kind of hoping for more participation, maybe next time. I'll try to do this again after the Steam holiday sale. The theme will be famous works of art that I've... altered slightly. I hope everyone had fun with this, even if you didn't send me a entry.
  3. Games giveaway

Anyone else who wants to win a game from me has until I wake up tomorrow and post the answers. At that point I'll announce the winners and stop flooding this thread.
  4. Idle Thumbs 118: A Simple Litter

I always had the opposite impression. They always seem to be talking about new things week to week. Even if half of those weeks are covering games that have been discussed before, that's still a lot of games, probably more than I play.
  5. Games giveaway

Last chance to submit any entries for my contest. I currently have fewer entries than I do prizes, so at this point even submitting a blank entry will get you something. If you haven't submitted your first entry yet, I'll try to respond before the end of the day so you can make a second entry, but no promises.
  6. Saltybet

I'm glad you mentioned that. I just saw a match where they spent 15 seconds facing away from each other attacking the air. I would have been really confused if I didn't remember this.
  7. Left 4 Thumbs - The Homethumbing 2

I read Muppjockey's post, then scrolled up and read toblix's post, and for a second thought that Jesus was still playing L4D2.
  8. I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't somehow managed to pull the plug on Super Mario Bros. Crossover, especially when you consider just how many Nintendo assets are in that thing.
  9. Idle Thumbs 118: A Simple Litter

I also really enjoyed hearing Danielle this week. It's nice to hear from someone who is aware of the Thumbs, but not quite on the same level as the long time listeners who are intimately aware of the jokes and goings ons. Also her use of the of the word litter and mention of the Gashlycrumb Tinies made me so happy. Like Jake levels of happy. I listened to the discussion of Sir, You are Being Hunted for 5 minutes before I my brain realized that the actual game being discussed was Don't Starve. RE Saints Row marketing: Earlier this week, some of the staff at Volition said they weren't happy with THQ's marketing, specifically the emphasis they placed on the porn stars and things like dildo bats. I've never played any SR myself, mostly because I'm just not into that type of game, but also because the marketing made it seem like something I didn't want to try.
  10. Games giveaway

2 days remaining. Score to beat is still 43/48. Also, if anyone is going to submit an entry, feedback on the whole concept is appreciated so I can make the next one better.
  11. Dreams!

Sorry to hear about the bad dreams Tegan. It sounds like you're being Inceptioned.
  12. Half-Life 3

Not actually related to HL3 but cool nonetheless
  13. Games giveaway

New top score: 43/48. If anyone is still waiting to submit an entry, I'd suggest doing it soon so you have time to try and figure out any wrong answers. Also, don't forget that in the event of a tie score whoever gets me the answers first will take top priority.
  14. Games giveaway

3 more days. I now have a whopping TWO entries. Top score is still 37/48.
  15. I Had A Random Thought...

I've been rewatching Star Trek The Next Generation lately and I can't help but read your post with Riker's voice.
  16. Games giveaway

4 more days. Still only have one entry...
  17. Ouya - ohhHHHyeaaaah!

    Horsebag peripheral confirmed.
  18. Half-Life 3

Check out this TOTALLY REAL AND NOT AT ALL FAKE countdown for L4D3 http://l4d3.ru/
  19. Games giveaway

5 more days. Current top score is 37/48.
  20. Space

Another proud moment as I post another scientific poop related video.
  21. PC Peripherals Question/s & (hopefully) Answers

Hmm, that's interesting. I've had the same mouse (G500) for a couple years and I've never had that problem.
  22. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

You'll encounter that several times in the game. If it seems like something is useless, it usually just means it wasn't useful this time. That fact combined with the differences in the paths had led me to having a very fragmented memory of the solutions. It's like remembering several alternate timelines simultaneously and they're all valid.
  23. I Had A Random Thought...

I recently got my first tablet device (the new Nexus 7 if anyone is wondering). I've also been rewatching Star Trek: The Next Generation for some reason. It's very strange to be seeing this show now and thinking "Man, my tablet is way better than theirs!".
  24. Ouya: Ooooh Yeah!

I think it's interesting as a concept. Like many things, I'm glad it exists but it's something I'll probably never get into.
  25. PC Peripherals Question/s & (hopefully) Answers

I'm currently using the G500, which I suppose is the predecessor to the G500s. I think it's pretty good. It's got a sturdy build and fits my hand pretty well. The biggest problem I'd say is the thumb buttons. There are 3 buttons, but the center one is hard to hit accurately because of how small and close they are. It takes a bit getting used to if you use them a lot. If you're considering the G500s, I'd look into the G500. They seem to be functionally identical apart from the dpi (the 500 has a max of 5700 while the 500s goes to 8200 but do you really need that much?). The only differences seem to be the look and the price, with the 500 costing 25% less.
