I play mostly MvM these days, which has a matchmaking system so I don't hang out on any specific server. Basically, if you see me playing TF2 I'm playing MvM. Most of the time if I'm playing with random people I won't mind leaving them and making a party.

I actually discovered the floppy songs a few days ago myself. They are very cool. Smooth McGroove's acapella arrangements are probably known already, but here are some of my favorites

I know a group like that, but I only know them on this one forum about a video game podcast.

If anyone is still interested in trying GameMaker, the Standard Edition of GameMaker Studio is now available as a free upgrade for a limited time. It normally costs $50 for the standard version and has more features than the free version. In addition to that, the Professional version is also being discounted to a $50 upgrade instead of the normal $100. To get the free upgrade, download or update to the latest version of GameMaker studio and run the program.

Has anyone else seen this Battle of the Sexes game? I keep seeing ads for it and every time I do I get angry because this game looks horrible in so many ways. It's basically a trivia/knowledge board game, except the teams are men vs women where each team has to answer questions about the opposite sex. Men get asked stuff about clothing, makeup, cooking, shoes, poetry, etc. Women get questions about cars, tools, sports, more sports, machinery, etc. It is the worst thing.

I keep seeing ads for two games that make me want to puke. The first is Battle of the Sexes, which looks like the most gender stereotyped thing ever. The game appears to be men vs women where the men have to answer questions like stuff like fashion, makeup, and cooking and the women get questions about cars, sports, and tools. I'm both amazed and disgusted it exists. The second is Logo Party which is a mix of pictionary and charades, except the things you're describing are corporate logos. It's a massively obvious marketing gimmick that also makes me sick. Sorry for the pukey post, but I hate that these are real things and had to express it somewhere.

I've been waiting to buy a horsebag.

Tegan and I came up with an Idle Thumbs greeting (ok fine, she came up with the whole thing herself, I didn't do shit). You open with "What's new, baboo?" and the response is "Nothin' puffin".

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

I'll jump in here real quick and say that Amazon has a both the red and black XLs in an upcoming Lightning Deal. I have no idea what the price will be though. At the time of this posting, the deal starts in 5h 38m (2:10 PM EST). Update: The $150 deal sold out very quickly as expected. Back on topic, I spent way too long playing the weird baseball minigame. I couldn't get the hang of the timing and kept missing my target. Then I read the actual rules and got the piece of heart on the next try. Finding a baseball minigame was such a weird, random thing. This game continues to amaze me in unexpected ways. -

I too had a lot of fun playing Excitetruck. I remember being very surprised I was able to drive so well just by tilting the controller. I also realized that I looked exactly like the people I used to make fun of who would do things like move the controller up every time Mario jumped. -
And I'll form the head

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
SecretAsianMan replied to posh_somme's topic in Video Gaming
I don't necessarily mean I am rushing, it's just the game's pacing makes me feel like I am. I think part of it is because I know LttP pretty well (although I haven't played it for a few years) and I keep thinking in terms of that game. I have to keep reminding myself this is a sequel, not a remake. Also I just got the Master Sword and I really missed shooting lasers from it. -

I'm still not really into the art style (at least the character designs, the rest is ok) but I am loving this game otherwise. The painting mechanic is actually used in some pretty clever ways, and many of the new twists on the old stuff are very clever as well. There are several little touches that I'm liking a lot, such as the ring that shows you the range of the spin attack and the musicians in the milk bar, especially the way the flute part cuts out of the music if you talk to the kid. It's weird, in a way I feel like I'm rushing though this game. A combination of the fast travel between save points and the item rental where I can just have a ton of items right now makes me feel like I'm skipping over a lot of things, even though I know I'm not really. One of the things I really liked about LttP was the way the world slowly unfolds as you gain the ability to traverse it, but now I feel like I can kind of go anywhere without as much effort. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just different. -
I'm free around that same time. My Steam ID's in my sig, but here it is again anyway SecretAsianManz

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

I wouldn't say my dislike of the art style is an exaggerated reactionary opinion (but then again who would think that of themselves), I just don't like it very much. Still I'm willing to overlook it because gameplay is so much more important to me. I was really afraid that ALBW was going to trample all over my favorite Zelda game and destroy my childhood memories, but from the sound of things it seems like it's managed to be both nostalgic and new at the same time, which isn't an easy thing to pull off. But I agree that even if it works wonderfully this time, I wouldn't want them to try it again with another Zelda game. -
Which elbow/knee would you give up, given the choice?
SecretAsianMan replied to Berzee's topic in Idle Banter
I voted arm because I tend to hold things at arms length anyway so keeping one arm in that position probably wouldn't change too much for me and voted left because I'm right handed. I need both my legs to work for my job. This place is impossible to get around without two functional legs. -
Resurrecting this thread to say that the newest TF2 update is a lot of fun. I only played a little before the servers had to be shut down to fix an issue in MVM. Would anyone like to get together and destroy some robots? I'm getting tired of playing with random people who quit as soon as things start to get bad or are simply not team players. I'd be willing to do a Tour of Duty as well.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
SecretAsianMan replied to posh_somme's topic in Video Gaming
My opinion on this game has fluctuated wildly in the months leading up to the release. At first I was excited because LttP is my favorite Zelda game. Then I was upset because I realized I didn't actually want a sequel. Then I saw the art style and became further upset because I didn't (and still don't) like it. Then I heard about the item rental thing which sounded kind of terrible. Then I tried it at PAX and it was actually quite fun. Then I saw it reviewed pretty well. I'm presently in a state of cautious optimism, which means I'll probably download it tonight. -

The end-of-the-generation retrospective megathread.

I am still disappointed with most controllers. I hate having almost all the buttons on the face where I only have 2 thumbs while my fingers remain idle. I think the Steam controller looks interesting but I still want more. -

Yeah, I think anything relating to the last gen is pertinent. Games, hardware, trends, whatever. -
Not technically a key feature but this was in the press release for a game called Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars
