  1. Obviously I can't speak for everyone but here are some of my favorites in production order. Season 2 The Measure of a Man - 2x08 Season 3 Yesterday's Enterprise - 3x15 Sarek - 3x23 (Really great Picard scene towards the end) The Best of Both Worlds - 3x26 Season 4 The Best of Both Worlds, Part II - 4x01 Family - 4x02 (I'm actually not a huge fan of this episode but it's pretty well liked I guess) The Drumhead - 4x21 Redemption - 4x26 Season 5 Redemption, Part II - 5x01 Darmok - 5x02 (Temba, his arms wide) Unification I - 5x07 Unification II - 5x08 Cause and Effect - 5x18 The Inner Light - 5x25 (My personal favorite episode of the entire series) Season 6 Relics - 6x04 Chain of Command Part I - 6x10 Chain of Command Part II - 6x11 Face of the Enemy - 6x14 Season 7 Lower Decks - 7x15 All Good Things... - 7x25/7x26 (Series finale, originally aired as one 2 hour episode) I can list a LOT more but that's 20 already. Some of them may not be the "best" in terms of story/production but I still think they're fun for one reason or another.
  2. Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

I found another village at the location and coordinates below. I made a few copies of my map and put it in the free stuff chest if anyone needs. I also found a desert temple near the village and raided the chests. I found some gold ingots and iron horse armor, which I took back and put in the stables.
  3. The threat of Big Dog

It needs a speaker that plays the Kool-Aid man "Oh yeah!"
  4. Movie/TV recommendations

It sadly does not come with any kind of commentary, something that didn't occur to me until right after I finished watching it. I'm sort of tempted to get a physical copy just for that. Are there any other cool special features?
  5. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

So now that the Xbone and PS4 are upon the masses... I went out and bought a Wii U. I grabbed the Wind Waker HD bundle and a copy of Mario 3D World. I'm not very far in either but Mario is doing some clever stuff and Wind Waker does look really good. I think the most mind blowing thing I've had happen so far though is the fact that I could go from the couch to the bathroom and back to the couch while continuously playing the entire time.
  6. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

You have to ask him a bunch of times. Also it's kinda gross if you mess it up enough.
  7. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Did you play the knife mini game with the trucker while you were still in the bar? It serves no purpose whatsoever other than being a diversion. Also the trucker and Ripburger are both voiced by Mark Hamill.
  8. Movie/TV recommendations

I got a Chromecast over Black Friday and it came with some Google Play credit, so I bought Pacific Rim. That was such a dumb, silly, cheesy, obvious, goofy, ridiculous movie. I loved the shit out of it.

Is one of those pieces of mail a letter to Santa?
  10. I Had A Random Thought...

I want to see a Christmas special that takes place when it's not Christmas. Mostly because I want to see the version of the scene where the mean character does something nice because "it's Christmas", implying that at any other time of the year the scenario would not have ended happily.
  11. Twitter

A lot of things about Twitter annoy me, but I think the number one thing I hate is the use of hashtags. I don't mind the concept of grouping together tweets about the same subject, but when the use of them became ironic or sarcastic, that's when it started to bother me. Using hashtags as descriptors for a single tweet and nothing else annoys the hell out of me, especially when that hashtag has an actual non-ironic function. Also hearing people actually say the phrase "hashtag ______" also drives me nuts but that's just because I think it's dumb.
  12. Life

My greatest weakness is my inability to come up with an answer for the question "What is your greatest weakness".
  13. GOTY.cx 2013

This was the year I got a 3DS and of all the games I've played on it so far, A Link Between Worlds has to be my favorite. I really love the Zelda series and Link to the Past is my absolute favorite one. That said, A Link Between Worlds managed to walk an incredibly fine line between nostalgia and innovation to produce what is probably the best Zelda game in a while. I'm still not a huge fan of the visual style and some of the minigames are dumb, but otherwise I loved it. On the PC front, TF2 has sucked me back in so that's where the majority of my time has been spent. But I also greatly enjoyed Rogue Legacy, Papers Please, and of course Gone Home. They're all great for different reasons that I won't get into because I think enough time has been spent discussing them over the course of the year. Spelunky is also going to get a mention from me, not because I've put a lot of time into it, but because of how much entertainment I've gotten out of watching others put time into it.
  14. Essential 360 exclusives

Man, I didn't think anyone else liked Chromehounds. I'm generally not into the mech genre because the action tends to be slower than I'd like, but I did enjoy Chromehounds. I remember thinking at the time that the game looked really beautiful, and I was for some reason especially impressed by the game's ability to smoothly zoom in the camera in a realisitic way.
  15. Essential 360 exclusives

When I think of exclusive, I usually take that to mean exclusive among the consoles. That's how most of these games are marketed anyway. If we want to interpret exclusive literally, then this is going to be a short list.
  16. The threat of Big Dog

Well they eventually have to land (or at least hover close to the ground) in order to drop off their package otherwise you risk damaging the product. I'm now imagining someone making a venus fly trap like device to catch these things when they drop off packages.
  17. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Honestly, this was one of my least favorite puzzles in the game. I'll give you a hint though As for why I don't like it
  18. Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server

You guys have done some serious stuff since I was last on. The place is looking nice. I've changed my mind about building my house and have revoked my claim on the land near the stables. I left all the crap there if anyone wants to take it or demolish it or whatever. I'm instead embarking on an even more ambitious project that I'll never complete.
  19. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

I think that puzzle's solution does make logical sense, but the game itself kind of throws you off
  20. The threat of Big Dog

Can I get a delivery on the 30th floor of a building without going down to the front door?
  21. Life

    Also congrats Ucantalas
  22. Essential 360 exclusives

I personally prefer ODST, but the Halo series in general is some of the best fun to be had on a 360. I'm still incredibly impressed by the amount and quality of the player tools the later Halos made available to both create and capture gameplay. I can also understand liking Gears of War. The first Gears was the game that convinced me to buy a 360. I sunk a lot of time in Gears 2 horde mode. As much as that series is mocked, they were a lot of fun to play.
  23. Idle Thumbs 134: Sports

I've always hated the idea of not being allowed to use tools to do things like that. Closed book tests were the worst to me. If college is supposed to be preparing me for the next stage of my life, then why can't I use the tools that are actually available to me in real life? At work we are actively encouraged to look things up and not rely on just our knowledge. In fact in many cases it's mandatory. I've decided if I ever get an intern, I'm going to give them an assignment and tell them they can't use a calculator or any notes because that's what those classes were preparing them for. If they ignore me and use them anyway, I'm offering them a job.
