I have to admit, as dumb as the whole cards thing is the market itself is incredibly painless. If you really don't care at all you can even list them for an absurd amount and they'll just stay on the market but won't show up in your inventory.

Dreamt last night that Argobot and I spent all night recording vines of Chris and Jake on stage performing some kind of Nirvana/Weezer song and dance.

It depends on the mission. Obviously 4 human players is best but many can be done with 2. In some cases stealth is easier with fewer people, in some cases it's harder. The AI isn't useful for anything except going loud because they will perform zero tasks besides shoot and revive. Unless there's a way to order them to pick up bags I'm unaware of.

I think the character design is crap too. I can't tell them apart except for Optimus and Bumblebee because of the bright red/blue and yellow. I'm also creeped out by the fact that Optimus has an actual mouth. But at least the quality of the cg was good. The cg in the gif is just bad and incredibly awkward, like it came from a movie made 10 years ago instead of today. Also I watched the actual clip instead of just the gif. Finally figured out that he's holding a doughnut in his right hand and that his phone's ringtone is the "robots in disguise" portion of the theme song.

I tend to play games like that. When I get a new game, I either touch it once and never come back, or play nothing but it and put in a ton of time until I burn out on it then never come back. So far TF2 has been the only exception because it gets lots of updates and the core gameplay is still damn fun. Spelunky also to a lesser degree because I only do the daily challenge.

Finally managed to unlock the saw last night so if we attempt a heist again sometime soon I'll be in a much better position to rob things quickly.

Was just about to post that link myself. I believe them when they said they tried to moderate their community before, but I'm glad they recognize an increased need for it. I'd still like to see a response to the actual criticism that kicked all this off, but I kind of doubt that's going to happen.

Half hour shows are mostly comedies with little plot so you can resolve the situation in 23 minutes and have some jokes in there. Hour long shows are usually action/drama that need time to tell a story. Comedies need to be funny all the time to keep an audience. Action/drama can keep people coming back because they get involved in the story. It seems to me that comedies disappear quicker while action/drama has more staying power so it looks like there are more of them. But I don't really watch tv so I'm probably way off.

GB has been trying to moderate their own forums too. But it's hard to fight against such a huge number of people with a limited staff. And I didn't link the previous tweets to absolve them of guilt or to say "hey, lay off of Giant Bomb, look at all the good stuff they're doing!" Like Bjorn said, tweets are a quick easy thing to do which also made them a quick, easy post. I do expect someone to have something to say soon, most likely Patrick because he addresses concerns like this a lot and is especially vocal about the subject of women in gaming.

Physical sports are usually separated because of the argument that men on average are taller, stronger, faster, etc. than women biologically speaking. It's not a very good argument of course (in fact it pretty much stinks), but it has more merit than "just because", which seems to be the one that e-sports is taking. Video games do more than almost any other kind of competitive thing to present a level playing field because the biological differences don't mean jack. Trying to separate based on gender in a thing that is gender blind makes zero sense.

I am disappointed the game does not come on floppies and the soundtrack on a cassette tape.

Among the thousand other reasons it's stupid and disgusting, it's also an example of why I hate trying to make esports like actual sports. Actual professional sports organizations are pretty terrible, I don't know why we're trying to copy their awful example. To say that you're not letting in women in an effort to look legitimate is just pure bullshit. If that's what makes it legitimate, then fuck being legitimate.

The way it turns from a pony into a gun is somebody's wet dream. Also at one point the gun clips through the guy's right hand.

To be fair to the game, you can't smack the civilians around without killing them which the game punishes you for doing. You yell at them to get down and can zip tie their hands behind their back in order to move them around or prevent them from escaping, but that's it. If you do kill a civilian, you get penalized money and the disembodied voice yells at you for doing it. It makes your respawn time longer on the lower difficulties and on the higher ones you can only respawn if the team has hostages to trade for captured robbers so the game actively encourages you not to kill them. But the mask and glove thing is definitely creepy.

I'd also like to point out that the GB crew is telling the people who are being assholes to the women speaking out to fuck off.
