Giant Bomb Presents is pretty cool. Austin interviewed the Her Story developer and it was a good interview. It also didn't spoil anything (afaik, I haven't played the game), so don't hold back on listening if you haven't play it yet and plan to, maybe. Also Austin proved that is officially the greatest man alive on the latest Beastcast because he actually knows what the fuck procedural generation is unlike 99% of the people who play video games. My experience with today's corporate appropriation was seeing Crunchyroll's Twitter avatar had changed into a rainbow pattern and then going to the website (which I do frequently enough anyway, so it's not like that enticed me into doing something I wouldn't otherwise do), and then seeing this advertised on the front page. Warning: big-boobed anime figure. If that's not a punch-in-the-face reminder that some things are still shitty, I dunno what is! (though this just blatant weirdo sexism, so at least it's not homophobic, right?!!!!)

Yep. It's tracking an emotional reaction to the art style, not unequivocally stating that Cuphead is racist and so are the developers.

Re: E3, yeah, it's still mostly white dudes, but also it's a marked improvement from past years (at least, it felt that way to me). There's even a moment in the Ubisoft conf (which I pointed out in some other thread, probably the E3 one) where a woman of color essentially hands the mic over to another woman of color. It's important to keep talking about the problems, but I think it's also important to celebrate progress, sometimes.

Huh. I was aware of the history of animation in general, but I hadn't really deep-dived into Cuphead itself - just appreciated that it looks beautiful in all the ways. That 2014 version of the devil is... dubious. Good that they changed it, but it still, hmm. why not make it red. D:

No they don't. I have Dota 2 and TF2 installed on my main drive (which is SSD - need those quick load times!) and everything else on my secondary drive. I don't think you have to do anything special to make it happen. I just picked a different folder on installing a game and then it was available in the drop-down from that point on.

Ooh Binary Domain is one of those games I always meant to get but then completely forgot about. Now that I'm reminded, I hope I don't forget again.

Iron Galaxy is a studio that focuses almost entirely on Helping Other Companies Make Games, whether that's ports, or singular feature development. They do a lot of ports for a lot of people. I think they've done some original stuff recently (they did Divekick, and are doing Killer Instinct). But yeah 12 does seem like a small number for a port of that profile.
