  1. The Wolf Among Us

Wait what. That's fucked. Bleh. Well I guess at least I already own those games.
  2. The Wolf Among Us

I guess it's just age. It always feels to me that they tend announce sequels pretty quickly when they're happening. TWD S3 was announced like a month after the final episode of S2.
  3. The Wolf Among Us

They won't let him do it anymore! Poor guy. ): EDIT: It's also possible they were setting him up to play a bigger part in a follow-up season that I guess will never happen at this point.
  4. The Wolf Among Us

In the comics he's a power-hungry piece of shit who wants to know everything about everyone else without ever divulging any information about his own activities. I guess that's what they were going for here.
  5. anime

I really hated Golden Time once (ep 9 or 10 spoiler) showed up. In fact, I think I dropped it literally one episode after that happened. I may have mentioned this during our last episode recording; I can't remember. I definitely brought it up very recently with somebody. It really frustrated me, though, because I otherwise enjoyed it. And I liked seeing an anime romance that wasn't high school (even if it pretty much hit most of the same beats).
  6. anime

Beyond the Boundary is really really pretty but unfortunately just has a boring story. Sad trumpet noise. Redline however is amazing.
  7. DOTA 2

I lost 11 games in a row when I did the A->Z (I finished a week before they added the all hero challenge...) I've probably mentioned it before because it's sad and I never miss an opportunity to point out how sad my life is, but the hero was . The all hero challenge can be fun but I absolutely would not recommend you do it with only 100 games! 100 sounds like a lot but when it comes to Dota, even my 3000 isn't really all that much. If you want to expand your hero pool, I recommend identifying one that looks fun, giving that about ten games to see if you like it, and if you do, continuing to play that hero for a while until you feel like you've got a good grasp. Then go from there. Well, that's how I play this game, anyway.
  8. The Ultimate Playthrough, Metal Gears!?

2 is better than 1 so you're both already wrong.
  9. The Wolf Among Us

Yeah Bluebeard is one of those characters you kind of have to know about (either from his actual story or from reading Fables) for it to really make sense why they'd suspect him so strongly. As a reader of Fables, it definitely struck me as weird that he came up so quickly, before they even show him on screen, no less! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluebeard
  10. anime

I think Madoka's just okay. It's one of the recent Anime Darlings, but it never really managed to go beyond "this is interesting", unfortunately. It certainly didn't help that it was just... boring, the vast majority of the time.
  11. anime

I vote someone ELSE do it!
  12. anime

Nothing can be worse than Sucker Punch.
  13. anime

So I'm watching this now (less than ten minutes left) and I dunno if it's because you've led me to Expect Something, but WONDER WHAT'S IN STORE AS THE EPISODE ENDS Hmm yep that's about where I expected it to go.
  14. Idle Food - Cooking!

    You're disgusting!
  15. Dota 2 - Summer 2016 Roster Shuffles

    Me too. ):<
  16. The Wolf Among Us

Counter-question: why does the game have to react? It doesn't, for me. It simply matters that I'm making the choice, as I said. To repeat myself: To each their own? EDIT: It occurs to me that you probably started responding before I edited in the last two paragraphs, 'cause I think I answer your core question as best as I personally can manage. Sorry, bad habit I have.
  17. The Wolf Among Us

Yes because I wouldn't be making the choices. I don't need the game to be reacting to my choices to know that it was, in fact, me that made those choices. I guess it's kind of an imagination thing? I'm happy just knowing I made some choices. I've never demanded my games acknowledge everything I do (though I do appreciate when they do so in meaningful ways (meaningful being the operative word here - if it's going to react it better damn well make it a good reaction)). It's enough to just go through the act of making them myself. Also it's not as if they never acknowledge choices; it's simply that they don't do so to the degree that critics would prefer. Which I guess, to each their own?
  18. The Wolf Among Us

I know this is an extremely common complaint about TellTale video games, and I can empathize with why people feel that way, but... it just doesn't matter to me? Like I know that mechanically there's very little callback to the choices I'm making, and the characters don't often acknowledge my choices in a way that I might think makes sense, if I really think about it, but when I'm actually playing the game, I just don't give a shit. I'm capable of... filling in the blanks, I guess? As in, although the responses are often the same, regardless of choice, I make the mental connection so that it makes sense that they say that? It doesn't always work for me, but I guess it works for me far far more than it seems it does most critics of the TellTale games. I fucking loved Wolf Among Us (it's probably my favorite TT choice-chooser) and I also liked The Walking Dead Season Two (although not as much as the first season - mostly because of TWD fatigue, if I'm honest, I just would rather see something new from TellTale... and of course they've already announced a third season, and they're doing that Michonne spinoff................). EDIT: All that said, I definitely would like to see them do some other types of games. I like their choice-choosers, but I love the third season of Sam and Max, unequivocally it is my favorite thing they've done. ):
  19. Idle Food - Cooking!

If it's a war crime to be in heaven, then I will go down as the greatest war criminal in history.
  20. Dota 2 - Summer 2016 Roster Shuffles

I just like kinda can't believe they would do that after winning TI5. I mean I know that kind of thing happens in real sports but this is Dota and the teams are always only five people. It's crazy!
  21. Dota 2 - Summer 2016 Roster Shuffles

This makes me mad because I hate Arteezy.
  22. Idle Food - Cooking!

    wrong they have mayo
  23. I guess my point was it can be entertaining without knowing what's actually happening, just like Dota or whatever. I think it comes much more down to the person than it does the subject. the subject has something to do with it, of course, but eh. I've traditionally hated watching all sports (although I do enjoy being There in a large and lively crowd, it's a unique experience), and Dota's the only thing I've ever enjoyed watching competitive play. I don't even really enjoy speedruns unless it's a game I'm super deep into, and then I mostly enjoy it in an academic sense.
  24. Yeah I forgot to mention it, but I've heard that, too! It'd also make sense that once the foot's in the door, it's open to everyone, so to speak. So the arcades don't even need to exist, anymore, people just see that it's okay for them to be into this and so the community continues growing as such.
  25. This isn't "meta", but, uh, backwards bunny hopping to gain ever increasing speeds in Half-Life 2 is definitely going to be impenetrably bizarre to someone who's never played the game (and most people who have played the game). It'll look entertaining as hell, but if you don't understand the bug driving that technique, well...?
