I had a long post written about why this particular topic is particularly sensitive and you're being particularly obtuse, but then I realized that would've led to a whole conversation that it seems like no one here wants to go down. So I'll just say that while in general I appreciate your fact-checking, whenever you disagree with someone on a subjective matter, you do have that condescending "well why don't you realize this thing I've realized" attitude, and, yeah, that's aggressive.

Should devs also get money if someone writes a story about playing their game?

copyright law is bullshit tho

This describes how I feel about MGS better than I think I ever could. I don't have anything to add, just kinda, "thanks for spelling out my own feelings for me". Heh.
-
I was actually thinking this, too, but didn't bring it up, as the comparison is sorta hard to do. Talk show hosts don't talk over a whole movie if they're gonna talk about it. (Which brings me to another aside: even if a YouTuber plays through a whole game and posts it all up, that's still SIGNIFICANTLY different from actually playing it yourself, even for a story-based game. They're not analogous to movies, so I don't think the MST3k comparison is all that valid, either.)

To clarify my earlier posts: I have no moral objection to video game devs in general getting a bit of the revenue. My problem is that, as Problem_Machine has mentioned, it's often just Big Guy vs Little Guy. Nintendo vs Some Random YouTuber. If the shared revenue was going to, say, the developer of To the Moon, or whatever else, that's awesome. But Nintendo doesn't need that fucking money. They're filthy rich! And, worse, they aren't even the reason people watch. People watch to enjoy the personalities. This is how this business works. So, essentially, it's not Nintendo saying "Hey, you stole content"; it's Nintendo saying "Hey, you are entertaining people and happen to be using our product along the way, give us money, or else". That's gross.

blink goes in top right tho ):

I know I'm going to regret getting into something like this because I always do, but hey! Except it's ultimately the video maker's content. Like it or not, people go to the these entertainers for the personalities, not the content. You said it yourself, you don't watch LPs made by people you find obnoxious. So even you are going for the personality. They just happen to be playing a game owned by Nintendo or whoever else. Also I'm still reeling at your insistence that creating this content is somehow easy. You do realize this is a full-time job for these people, right? They don't just do it for fun and suddenly become millionaires. If that was possible, I'd be streaming every night. Now, if you wanna argue that entertainers in general make more money than they should - relative to, say, a teacher or whatever - and that some of them are corrupt or harmful, then I'm all ears. But these people do work for their money. It doesn't just fall into their lap one day.

Yeah I can confirm the OVA is not good. It serves no purpose whatsoever. It also features a healthy scene where two very young twin sisters grope each other in a bath tub. Great, anime!
-
All of this. This is all true.
-
Yes those were typically the people who wore them! They didn't beat me up tho.
-
Honestly follow-up OVAs are usually junk, so I tend to go into them expecting as much. I'm gonna watch it anyway, but I wouldn't be surprised if I end up agreeing with you.
-
Oh yeah. I watched Another last night, on tegan's recommendation. All in one sitting, because I have no life. D: Gotta say, I was genuinely surprised at the direction that went. I don't normally watch a lot of horror type things (mostly just through sheer lack of it appearing in front me, rather than unwillingness to engage), but this one worked for me, a lot. The show throws all kinds of red herrings at you and then a few episodes later goes "haha tricked you didn't we". I liked it. some ending stuff I'm currently obtaining the OVA because Crunchyroll doesn't have it. Obviously. |: OVA follow-ups are the most annoying thing.

That doesn't surprise me in the least! They were probably most popular (in my area of the world) among outcast groups, anyway. So, give a bully a reason... (They really are awful, though, like holy hell why would anyone ever wear them what was wrong with me.)
-
They definitely were in the right crowds. I wore them and a lot of my friends at the time wore them. (I wore them because a lot of my friends wore them.)

also flcl might get a remake hehe http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2015/08/31-1/production-ig-mentions-possibility-of-flcl-remake

MTG. What a broken game! -
Haha I just googled "melon pan recipe" and found something. http://www.japanesecooking101.com/melon-pan/ It seems time consuming but I don't care I want some. ):
-
(Just for the record, "melon pan" is "melon bread". "Pan" means bread in Japan, and I believe they stole it from, I wanna say, Spain?) Yeah it's delicious. I have looked up a recipe for how to make it myself and I might try. X:

Might as well crosspost from the feminism thread since SAM brought it up! Teehee. re: Quiet, from MGSV
