Oh yeah completely agreed!

I think grotesque and ugly are not mutually inclusive. I admit to initially being incredibly turned off by Rick and Morty, but it's legitimately grown on me in a huge way. I think it looks good! I love it. Well, that's how I see it anyway. (Archer looks okay at best and is terribly animated, but it's saved by the writing.) (I'd argue Bojack is way above Archer, but it's been a while since I saw the latter. I could very easily be working off poor memory. Also bias, because Bojack is my favorite goddamn thing!!!) (Completely agreed on Venture Bros.) (Parentheticals.)

Hunter: A Chronicles of Darkness Game of Thumbs
Twig replied to Smart Jason's topic in Multiplayer Networking
I'm tryin' to think of more backstory but as is obvious from the character creation, I'm trash at that. Historically, I build the character as I go along, rather than upfront. I understand that backstory is important, but, well, you know. If I think of anything, I'll inform you immediately, but otherwise I'm perfectly fine with you inserting anything and everything! -
Yeah it's really hard to judge like, how far to go. Also

Oh yeah that drove me fucking bonkers. I spent at least half an hour trying to figure out where that cable was supposed to lead. I guess it just unlocked that gate and I never noticed it being locked in the first place. That's another dead end area that confused the hell out of me. At least you could argue that that one's just teaching you the ropes for a later puzzle, but still. D: If you want some hints: Vague-ish hint: Less vague-ish hint: Even lesser-vague-ish-er hint (aka the way to solve it): And yeah that ship door, hoo boy. There's only one mechanic to it, but it's a goddamn pain to solve, haha. That's one of the few puzzles I found more annoying than fun, but I did eventually get it, and was so super satisfied. :3 Dang, I noticed that right away! It still doesn't make it that easy, for me, haha. I'm so baffled as to where some of the puzzles are located. Can't fucking figure it out, lol.

Yeah, legit, this update is really fun. It's a shame the dungeons still aren't in, because that stuff sounded super interesting, but I guess it'll happen eventually. I need to set it up so that I can link up my work computer to share the same save through dropbox or something. As it is I just leave it running at home and mess with it once I get home.

Windows store lololol. I'm pretty hyped for this game. It does look generic as hell, can't really argue with that, but Remedy's never let me down. Alan Wake was one of the most surprising games to me when I finally got around to it. Definitely was not expecting to fall in love with it as hard as I did. Hope it comes to Steam eventually. D:

Latrine: hahaha I made the exact same incorrect assumption as you on those puzzles.

I'm fine with that. -
That's not how you solve that puzzle!

I'm at 516+85 (or somewhere around there, last I checked was 513+81, but I found a few more puzzles and did those). I'm kind of stumped as to where the rest of the puzzles are, so I think I'm just gonna be done now. Don't really feel inclined to do any hard hunting anymore. I do have one more question, though, about some puzzles in the village.

Bloodborne (Dark Souls 2 successor (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)))
Twig replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
Yeah that makes sense. I also like knights/sorcerors/whatever, but I get to do that in basically all video games, so it's nice to be able to do something different. -
Bloodborne (Dark Souls 2 successor (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)))

That's... interesting, haha. The oppressive atmosphere is usually cited by people as one of the biggest reasons people like Dark Souls so much. (I'm not one of those people.) I also don't think Bloodborne was all that oppressive, if I'm honest. Mostly just off-putting and surreal and often gross. But that's why I liked it, because it actually did something for me, visually, unlike Dark Souls, which feels sterile and stereotypical (except for the DLC area, which was fucking fantastic). X: -
The more time that passes, the more it bothers me that Chico didn't even fucking show up in the game. He was so instrumental in setting up the entire plot of TPP; it's amazing he's just completely absent. True ending spoilerish I mean game's been out for decades now so it shouldn't matter but people are nuts about spoilers so here we go, seven whole words . My guess is not. The game is very obviously not finished, so I'd find it hard to believe they put much thought into a prospective "sequel".

I'd love a Telltale Scooby Doo! ...As long as they take it back to the more traditional type of games they made early on. I mean, Borderlands reinvigorated my faith in their currently-popular formula of game, but with Scooby Doo, I think I'd have a lot more fun if I was, I dunno, exploring a haunted house on my own, and kept falling into goofy traps. I want to find clues and keys and whatever on my own, not have them shoved in my face. I want to switch characters on the fly (or, even scripted-like, as long as I maintain some semblance of real control). Actually I just realized what I'm talking about is almost Luigi's Mansion.

Bloodborne (Dark Souls 2 successor (Dark Souls successor (Demon's Souls successor)))
Twig replied to melmer's topic in Video Gaming
Bloodborne just feels faster paced overall to me, which is something. (At least, faster than Dark Souls. I've played neither Demon's nor Dark 2.) -
why aren't you in slack yet

Having now been away from both Dark Souls 1 and Bloodborne for a significant amount of time... I definitely prefer Bloodborne in nearly every way. I intend to go back and replay it eventually, doing the DLC, etc. Or maybe I'll continue my NG+ run until I can get the beast claws. Those look like a lot of fun. -
When the prompt came up during one conversation with Delilah for Henry to ask "Is this real?", I picked it immediately. Honestly, it struck me as a real possibility, because some of this stuff was absurdly conspiratorial in nature (intentionally, I realized at that point when you realize). I really liked how real his panic sounded. And it would definitely be a real fear of mine if I'd gone through what he did. I think it's sort of a shame that didn't continue much beyond that point, but I can understand why. Also like five minutes after I picked that option it hit me that it was either Brian or Ned or both still hanging out and sabotaging Henry for SOME reason. My initial thought was Brian because I've seen too many shows where a kid somehow survives in the wild with no training. Was... oddly happy to see his body on the ground, because it meant it was Ned, which is much more believable, haha.
