The thing that always gets me with Hillary is people say she often signs of growth... except then she'll turn around and blatantly lie about things she said in the past or things someone else said. When called out on this, she deflects, rather than admitting she was wrong. She comes off as someone who only says what she has to say to please the greatest amount of people.

you... you never played skyward sword did you

I'm not convinced that the people who would insist on voting for Bernie would've voted anyway if he hadn't been there. Keep in mind it's mostly young people.
-
He has to win every state from here on out with about 60% to her 40%. This, after almost every single one of his won states being small margins compared to her dominant victories. He's out.

Hope is cool and all but damn Bernie is not gonna win the nomination. Has anyone ever come back from this kind of lead at this point in the race? First time for everything, sure, I get that, but, oof.

This is my absolute favorite Telltale game (excepting possibly/probably Sam and Max Season 3). Telltale knows how to do humor. I wish they'd do it more often. I also wish they'd do a Sam and Max Season 4. ):

I made a black lady and my grandfather was white. I laughed but I also cried.

Pretty much, there's far too much resistance to the mere IDEA of climate change, let alone actually addressing it, to get anything done before it's far too late. We need a revolution now. Gradual change will not solve this problem in time. Make no mistake, this is the greatest challenge we have ever faced. If we don't address it properly, the human race will not last. This isn't hyperbole. This is reality. I suppose if I was feeling particularly morbid, I'd make a joke about how failing to address climate change would successfully solve all other problems the human race faces. By eliminating the human race.
-
It's not hyperbolic or uncharitable. These are things happening right now. If we continue to meander slowly in the right direction, at odds with the ignorant and greedy, it won't be enough. I'm not sure how you got "burn it all down" out of anything I said.

Slow change better been faster than a couple decades or the world is doomed. We can't work slow to address climate change. We already tried that. Look where it got us.

Idle Weekend March 11, 2016: Buried Treasure

Oh my god that would be an incredible game. I hope it was in a real posh voice, too. -
http://www.nytimes.com/politics/first-draft/2016/03/12/trump-supporter-who-made-nazi-salute-explains-why-she-made-the-gesture/ And a little more, words from her mouth. Found it in one of the replies to that tweet. I, um. I don't know. Maybe she is being honest, but what a poor choice. And besides that, even if she is, there is no doubt in my mind that there are literal neo-Nazis in Trump's camp. Maybe even literal OG Nazis, as well...
-
It took me a moment to realize that not only is she a trump supporter... She's also doing the Nazi salute. Wow.

Idle Thumbs 253: Ambitious Ambivalence
Twig replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Drove me fucking nuts on Daft Souls. Quinns said it like ten times. Even worse because Daft Souls is frequently quite negative about Nintendo and he kept basically saying "Nintendo is dumb for making bad Harvest Moon games". So frustrating. I actually rage-tweeted at them about it. X: -
(I see no reason why this can't be a general election thread. It's all so intertwined that splitting it up seems like more effort than it's worth.)
-
Everything you talk about is why I don't like Clinton. It's extremely frustrating to see people supporting her. "She's learned from her mistakes!" On what grounds do you make this claim?! She's shown time and time again that she just says whatever people want to hear. She's even doing it DURING THIS ELECTION CYCLE in order to attract people from Bernie's side, despite being vehemently against some of the shit he said earlier on. Ahhh it's so fucking dumb.

Looking at those faceplates I'm once again angry that they're only available for the tiny baby hands version of the handheld.

So what you're saying is if I find your vending machine, I'll be rich.
-
The Shadowrun example is closer to what the reality will be, I think, yes. You're all really stuck on this vending machine comparison! I regret making it. This shit is going to be billions of times more sophisticated than a regular vending machine. These aren't cheap spinning metal wires that sometimes fail to push a bag of chips off the shelf. These are robots with arms that use learning algorithms to figure out the best way to efficiently make a taco, or whatever else. The purpose of these things IS to take the human out of the equation altogether. It will happen, eventually. Obviously it won't just be like you wake up one day and all human workers are replaced by robots. It'll be gradual. But there will come a day when, yes, you can walk into a fast food restaurant and order food without any other humans involved.

A little bit, but (and I wasn't into politics at that time, so feel free to call me out on any false things!) from what I understand, around this time it was already obvious Obama was more popular. He didn't lose Super Tuesday, right? That's a big thing. Plus, the states where Hillary loses are almost always really close, whereas the states where Bernie loses are almost always overwhelming losses. I mean, you're right, regardless of anything I just said. It's not impossible. I hope! Hope!
-
Hey, I continue to hold out hope. I want to believe. But when I think about it realistically, his chances are super slim!
-
Yes, Sanders won't win. However, it's dangerous to act like Trump has no chance of winning.
